Rooted in deep clinical and experiential expertise, Aura allows our team to thoughtfully adapt routines, engagement, and care as needs evolve, while residents continue to enjoy the full Inspīr lifestyle; from chef-driven dining and cultural programming to meaningful daily connection.

We are pleased to welcome Kristina Thomas as our new Aura Program Coordinator, working closely with Madeline Diaz, Oceana Memory Care Director Together, they provide informed oversight and continuity, ensuring each resident benefits from consistency, collaboration, and a deep understanding of their personal journey

FEBRUARY 8 | 4:00 PM: SUPER BOWL SUNDAY - Join an early pre–Super Bowl gathering from 4:00 to 5:00 PM with light refreshments, followed by the game on the big screen in Ellington Hall at 6:30 PM for a relaxed and social evening of football and camaraderie.

FEBRUARY 14 | 2:00 PM: VALENTINE’S DAY TEA - Guests are invited to a Valentine’s Day tea with elegant refreshments and live entertainment, offering a warm and festive way to celebrate the holiday.

FEBRUARY 17 | 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM: A LUNAR NEW YEAR CELEBRATION - Celebrate the Lunar New Year with cultural entertainment, drinks, and bites from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by a themed dinner specials menu in the Jockey Club from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM

Staying Informed, Staying Secure - At Inspīr Embassy Row, community members recently gathered for an educational session led by Detective Scott Pinto of the DC Metropolitan Police Department’s Financial & Cyber Crimes Unit, focused on recognizing and preventing common seasonal scams. Through practical guidance and real-world examples, attendees gained tools to protect personal information and respond to potential threats. The program reflected Inspīr’s commitment to empowering individuals with knowledge that supports safety, independence, and peace of mind.

Engaging with Washington’s Cultural Landscape - The community continues to connect residents with Washington, DC through thoughtfully curated cultural outings that extend learning and enrichment beyond its doors. Recent highlights included a holiday tea at the historic Strathmore Mansion, paired with time exploring a miniature painting exhibition, as well as an evening at Arena Stage, one of the city’s most celebrated theatres within its vibrant arts district

Voices of Washington: Bob LeveyLongtime Washington journalist and author Bob Levey joined residents for an intimate conversation drawing on decades of reporting in the nation’s capital and his latest novel, Larry Felder, Candidate. The discussion moved effortlessly between politics, culture, and storytelling, sparking lively dialogue and thoughtful reflection.

A Musical Exchange with Yale University - Yale University’s Redhot & Blue, the institution’s first and oldest all-gender a cappella ensemble, brought a remarkable afternoon of vocal jazz and harmony to Inspīr Embassy Row with a live performance that was both refined and energizing Their visit introduced the spirit of one of the country’s leading universities into the community, creating an experience that blended musical excellence with intellectual and cultural exchange.

In February, the team will be inviting feedback through a brief, confidential 5 10-minute conversation designed to gather perspectives an lived experiences. These insights play an essential role in refining what works well and identifying opportunities to further elevate daily life at Inspīr.
