FAMILY UPDATE THE SUMMER EDITION Summer at Inspīr Embassy Row has been filled with opportunities to connect, explore, and celebrate together. SAFELYCONNECTED: EXPANDING PEACE OF MIND After successfully supporting residents in our Memory Care neighborhoods, we expanded our optional SafelyConnected program to Assisted Living earlier this year, and the results have been very encouraging. By providing immediate alerts when a fall occurs, including unwitnessed falls, SafelyConnected helps our care teams respond more quickly while supporting more personalized care and clearer communication with families. Designed with resident dignity and privacy in mind, SafelyConnected offers an added layer of support while helping residents maintain their independence. JOIN US FOR OUR UPCOMING EVENTS AUGUST 17TH | 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM | Jazz Hour: Quentin Walston Trio - Unwind at the end of the day with an evening of live jazz as the Quentin Walston Trio performs timeless favorites and contemporary selections in Ellington Hall. AUGUST 25TH | 4:00 PM | Wine Tasting with Attilio - Explore the wines of Italy during a guided tasting hosted by guest sommelier Attilio. Enjoy an afternoon of exceptional wines, conversation, and discovery. SEPTEMBER 26TH | 9:30 PM | Walk to End Alzheimer's - Support the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's as our community comes together on the National Mall to raise awareness and advance Alzheimer's care, support, and research. PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS Gathering in Good Company - Family Day filled Inspīr Embassy Row with energy as more than 150 residents, families, and associates came together to celebrate. An ice cream truck quickly became the afternoon's favorite gathering spot, while resident Dick Kauffman and his band kept the celebration lively with a wonderful live performance. From multiple generations enjoying time together to associates proudly welcoming their own families into the community, the day reflected the warmth and pride shared throughout Inspīr Embassy Row. Celebrating Pride - Pride Month at Inspīr Embassy Row was celebrated with music, entertainment, and meaningful moments together. Residents enjoyed a special performance by the Gay Men's Chorus of Washington, DC's Rock Creek Park Ensemble, followed by a lively Pride Drag Bingo event filled with laughter and celebration. These events honored the diversity of our community while creating opportunities for connection, selfexpression, and shared enjoyment. A Visit to Anderson House - Residents enjoyed a visit to neighboring Anderson House, headquarters of the Society of the Cincinnati, for a fascinating author talk exploring the history and enduring significance of the Declaration of Independence. The outing offered an engaging opportunity to connect with local history while enjoying one of the many cultural experiences just steps from our community. Wellness & Friendly Competition Residents have been staying active and engaged through two favorite community programs. Tai Chi offers a gentle way to improve balance, flexibility, and mindfulness, while Scrabble Club brings residents together to test their vocabulary, share conversation, and enjoy a little friendly competition. Both programs continue to be popular opportunities to learn, connect, and have fun.
INTRODUCING MEMORY LANE BAKING At Inspīr, we cherish the moments that bring families closer together. Memory Lane Baking is a new monthly gathering that invites residents living with dementia and their loved ones to share the joy of baking together. Through familiar recipes and the comforting experience of baking side by side, families can spark memories, share stories, and enjoy meaningful time with one another. More than baking, it's about spending quality time together in a warm, supportive environment where every shared smile, story, and recipe becomes part of the experience. VACCINE CLINICS Inspīr Embassy Row will soon host fall influenza and COVID-19 clinics to help residents and associates stay healthy throughout the season. Additional details, including dates and participation information, will be shared soon.
