FAMILY UPDATE SUMMER IN THE CITY Summer at Inspīr Carnegie Hill has been filled with opportunities to explore, connect, and enjoy all that New York City has to offer. From cultural outings and engaging performances to time spent with friends, residents have made the most of the season. In this edition, we're pleased to share highlights from the past few months, along with upcoming programs and ways families can stay involved. We hope you enjoy this look at life in our community this summer.
SAFELYCONNECTED: EXPANDING PEACE OF MIND After successfully supporting residents in our Memory Care neighborhoods, we expanded our optional SafelyConnected program to Assisted Living earlier this year, and the results have been very encouraging. By providing immediate alerts when a fall occurs, including unwitnessed falls, SafelyConnected helps our care teams respond more quickly while supporting more personalized care and clearer communication with families. Designed with resident dignity and privacy in mind, SafelyConnected offers an added layer of support while helping residents maintain their independence. PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS Exploring the World of Frida Kahlo at the MoMA - Residents recently visited the Museum of Modern Art to experience the Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera exhibition, exploring the works and stories of two of the 20th century's most influential artists. To enrich the outing, residents watched a documentary about Frida Kahlo beforehand and concluded the experience with a screening of Frida, starring Salma Hayek, bringing the exhibition to life in a meaningful and engaging way. Cruising Through Lower Manhattan Residents set sail on a dinner cruise through Lower Manhattan, enjoying an evening on New York Harbor with beautiful views, delicious dining, and live entertainment. As they cruised past some of the city's most recognizable landmarks, residents had the opportunity to relax, socialize, and experience New York from the water. An Unforgettable Season of Music Music filled the SkyPark throughout the season as residents enjoyed a variety of live performances celebrating Broadway, Pride Month, Independence Day, and more. From patriotic favorites and Broadway classics to a talented string quartet and other special musical guests, each performance offered something new to enjoy and plenty of opportunities to sing along, reminisce, and celebrate together. A Commitment to Community Community engagement remains an important part of life at Inspīr Carnegie Hill. Recently, team members and professional partners volunteered with Grassroots Grocery, preparing sandwiches for a local community refrigerator to support neighbors in need. The effort reflects a shared commitment to making a positive impact beyond the community.
INTRODUCING MEMORY LANE BAKING At Inspīr, we cherish the moments that bring families closer together. Memory Lane Baking is a new monthly gathering that invites residents living with dementia and their loved ones to share the joy of baking together. Through familiar recipes and the comforting experience of baking side by side, families can spark memories, share stories, and enjoy meaningful time with one another. More than baking, it's about spending quality time together in a warm, supportive environment where every shared smile, story, and recipe becomes part of the experience. The first Memory Lane Baking session will take place on August 23rd at 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM. If you have any questions, reach out to Lisa Walsh at lwalsh@inspirsl.com.
VACCINE CLINICS Inspīr Carnegie Hill will soon host fall influenza and COVID-19 clinics to help residents and associates stay healthy throughout the season. Additional details, including dates and participation information, will be shared soon.
