Dear Manteca Community,

Phone: 209-456-8600

Email: recreation@manteca.gov

As we prepare to welcome the summer season, I am pleased to present the latest edition of the Manteca Parks, Recreation & Transit Activity Guide. This year represents a significant milestone for our City as we formally unify our Parks, Recreation, and Transit services into one Department enhancing coordination, expanding opportunities, and strengthening how we serve our community.

This summer reflects both progress and tradition.

We are honored to partner with the American Legion to reintroduce the Memorial Day event, taking place May 23–25 at Woodward Park. This meaningful weekend brings our community together in remembrance and reflection, while creating opportunities for connection as we honor those who have served our country

We are also excited about the anticipated opening of the new Splash Pad at Woodward Park, which will further activate one of our most utilized park spaces and provide a new, accessible amenity for families throughout Manteca

Community connection remains at the heart of our efforts. You may see a bit more engagement this year through our Department mascots, Parky and Recky, who continue to bring a welcoming and fun presence to events and programs across the city.

Residents can also look forward to the return of many well-loved events, including Music on Maple, Parky’s Picnic, and the highly anticipated Park-A-Palooza, scheduled for September 12 at Woodward Park.

Seasonal amenities and programs will once again play a key role in summer activities. We eagerly await the opening of Lincoln Pool at Marion Elliott Park, alongside the continued success of the Junior Giants program, which provides valuable youth development opportunities through sports and mentorship.

In response to community interest, we are expanding our skateboarding and roller-skating programs, creating additional recreational opportunities for youth and families Additionally, the Autism Resource Fair will be held in June, allowing for increased accessibility and participation

As always, our goal is to provide diverse, high-quality programs and experiences that serve all members of our community. Whether you are attending an event, enrolling in a program, or simply enjoying one of our parks, we encourage you to take full advantage of what Manteca has to offer

There is truly something for everyone, and we look forward to seeing you out in our parks, facilities, programs, transit buses and community events this season.

Parks and Recreation Month

The Power of Parks and Recreation

In July 2026, Park and Recreation Month highlights "The Power Of" parks and recreation and the people who make it all possible Parks and recreation brings us together, strengthens our health and well-being, and builds more resilient, connected communities. Throughout the month, we’re celebrating the many ways parks and recreation reveals the power of what connects us:

The Power of Connection: Parks and recreation is where relationships grow, cultures meet and communities bond.

The Power of Play: From playgrounds to programs to youth sports, play fuels creativity, joy and lifelong learning.

The Power of Community: Public spaces offer room for everyone to gather, celebrate and heal.

The Power of Nature: Nature restores and inspires us, and parks ensure everyone can access its benefits.

The Power of Belonging: Welcoming parks and programs make every person feel valued

The Power of Well-Being: Parks and recreation advances health, resilience and shared community benefits.

Take a look at the Park and Recreation Month calendar to see how we are celebrating this year!
