Next Agricultural Policy Framework March 30, 2026 - FortWhyte Alive
This week MBP had the opportunity to take part in a roundtable discussion with the Hon. Heath MacDonald, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food (AAFC), Winnipeg South Centre MP Ben Carr, AAFC staff, and reps from several other Manitoba commodity groups to discuss the Next Agricultural Policy Framework (APF). A variety of topics were explored, including business risk management programs, the value of investments in research and innovation; trade and market access, factors affecting growth and competitiveness, regulatory burden, labour challenges and more. The federal government is currently seeking feedback on what the next iteration of the Next APF should entail and producers are encouraged to take part in this process.
