“The hotel is extraordinary, but it’s our people who will truly bring it to life.”
As we count down the final weeks before opening our doors, I wanted to pause and reflect on the journey so far, and share a little of what’s about to unfold.
With our doors opening this October, there is much to be excited about. What excites me most, however, is not just the building itself, but the people who will bring it to life. The passion and energy displayed by our colleagues is palpable, and united by a shared vision, they are the ones who will truly make the difference.
The team here is among the most passionate and diverse I have ever worked with. Their energy, creativity, and commitment will shape every guest experience and define what this hotel becomes.
We are excited to welcome our first guests in October, and equally excited to share this new chapter with all of you. This opening is not only a milestone for Dubai, but a moment for our whole company to celebrate.

Yù & Mì will mark Mandarin Oriental’s first signature Chinese concept in the UAE, a bar and dining experience inspired by the spirit of 1960s Hong Kong. Located high above the city, the venue will blend modernity with heritage through elevated Cantonese and Sichuan flavours, cinematic interiors, and a distinctive split between vibrant bar energy and refined dining — setting the stage for a bold new addition to Dubai’s culinary scene.
Chitarra is a soulful Italian restaurant created for a city that values character as much as craft. Rooted in the country’s rich pasta-making traditions, it brings together the bold, rustic flavours of Italy with a relaxed, welcoming tone. Designed to resonate with Dubai’s rhythm and appetite, it offers a warm, familiar counterpoint to more performative dining, delivering a journey that brings the essence of Italian hospitality to life.

Sharing the same level, Pavyllon Dubai will offer refined yet approachable French dining under the Yannick Alléno Group — a quiet statement of culinary excellence from one of the world’s most decorated chefs.

The Spa at Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai will reimagine the role of wellness in city life. Occupying two floors high above the urban energy below, it will be a sanctuary of stillness and renewal, designed to reflect the city’s dynamism while offering a conscious counterbalance to it.
Guided by four key pillars: nourishment, in-room rituals, beauty, and intelligent movement, the Spa will offer a holistic journey that responds to the evolving rhythms of its guests. From private suites and vitality pools to a comprehensive gym and 25-metre outdoor lap pool, every space is shaped by intent: to restore clarity, foster calm and create the conditions for long-term wellbeing.
More than just a place of rest, the Spa will introduce innovative therapies and performanceled skincare brands to the UAE for the first time, marking a new standard in the region. It will also serve as a cornerstone of the hotel’s progressive approach to wellbeing, a considered response to how modern travellers and residents alike engage with health, balance and restoration.
