A Night A Night to to Remember Remember at at
If you're looking for an evening that blends delicious food, vibrant culture, and unforgettable entertainment, Zaatar Syrian Lebanese Restaurant is the place to be. The atmosphere at Zaatar is warm and inviting, with traditional décor that sets the tone for an authentic experience. The highlight of the night? The mesmerizing bellydancing performance. The dancer moved with such grace and energy—it was captivating. The live music added an extra layer of excitement, turning the entire dining area into a celebration. It wasn’t just entertainment; it was a cultural showcase that brought the restaurant to life After dinner, we relaxed with a shisha. The flavors were smooth and aromatic, definitely worth trying. Sitting back under the night sky with friends, sharing stories over shisha, and soaking in the ambiance made for a perfect ending to the evening.
Of course, the food deserves its own praise. From the rich, creamy hummus to the perfectly grilled meats and fragrant salads, every bite was a delight. The service was attentive, and the staff clearly took pride in making sure we had a memorable night. Zaatar isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience. Whether you're a fan of Middle Eastern cuisine, live performance, or simply looking for a fun night out, I highly recommend giving it a visit Call now to reserve your table: 99881502
Editor’s Note Hello September, How are we already in Autumn?
I normally take advantage of a summer break but I wasn’t so lucky this year with events in the new season hurtling towards me. But I did manage a trip on my favourite ship, The Black Pearl. I think my family and I have clocked up close to 30 trips on it and and each one as special as the last. Definitely one not to miss before the season closes. There’s so much going on this month we’re spoilt for choice. There’s the annual Moon Walk of course in Protaras, I always suggest going earlier rather than later as it gets so packed but it’s a fabulous night under the moon with a good array of music to suit all tastes. Also catching my eye is the Cyprus Symphony performing video games through the ages. I am intrigued, especially as I used to be a computer video games journalist for Sega Megadrive back in the day. Cyprus may be a small island but it’s BIG on great food, village festivals, beautiful beaches all year round and fabulous entertainment. Wishing you a fabulous month filled with inspiration and motivation for you to get the best out of your lifestyle. Whatever you do this month, stay stylish.

Sun Protection, Reimagined: Meet Angeli Jackson, the Woman Making UV Protection Fashionable All Year Round We all know we should protect our skin from the sun — but what if protection could be something you actually wanted to wear? For Angeli Jackson, founder of SunSibility, that question became the starting point for a pioneering fashion business that has spent 25 years putting style, comfort and serious UV protection together. There is something wonderfully simple about Angeli Jackson’s philosophy: protecting your skin shouldn’t mean hiding away from life. A fashion product-development graduate from the London College of Fashion, Angeli founded SunSibility in 2001 after becoming fascinated by the possibilities of combining fashion with functional sun protection. Her idea was ahead of its time. Today, as we become increasingly conscious of UV exposure and the long-term effects of the sun on our skin, her concept feels more relevant than ever. SunSibility specialises in stylish UV protective clothing designed for real life — from everyday dresses and tops to swimwear, hats and accessories. The brand's specialist garments use UPF50+ fabric designed to block 97.5% of the sun's rays, while remaining lightweight, breathable, quick-drying and chlorine resistant. And this isn't simply about summer holidays. Why UV protection should be an all-year conversation We tend to associate sun protection with blazing summer days, beaches and bottles of SPF. But UV exposure doesn't conveniently disappear when September arrives. For anyone who spends time outdoors, travels frequently, enjoys walking, gardening, sailing or simply wants to take a more proactive approach to protecting their skin, UVconscious dressing can become part of an everyday wardrobe. That is where SunSibility's approach is particularly interesting.

Fashion meets function: The fabric is at the heart of the concept. Angeli searched internationally for materials that weren't simply tested for their UV protection, but also considered how they looked, felt and performed. The specialist Italian fabric used by SunSibility is designed to be cool and breathable, withstand chlorine and seawater, and dry quickly. The brand says many customers have garments that have lasted for years — a refreshing antidote to today's disposable fast-fashion culture. That longevity matters. SunSibility isn't about buying something for one holiday and throwing it away afterwards. It is about creating pieces that become part of your wardrobe and your lifestyle — particularly for people who want to spend more time outdoors while being conscious of sun exposure. And there is something rather luxurious about that idea: clothing that works quietly in the background, allowing you to concentrate on where you're going, what you're doing and how fabulous you look. A woman with a vision: Angeli's story is also a reminder that some of the best businesses begin with a very simple observation: there has to be a better way..

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE MY HEARING TESTED? Hearing loss often develops gradually and may not be immediately noticeable. That is why regular hearing checks are important, even if you have not noticed any significant changes in your hearing. .
We assess how well you hear different sounds and frequencies. *The important thing is that a hearing test provides a baseline for comparison, making it easier to identify any changes in your hearing over time.
How often should you have your hearing tested?
Your hearing deserves the same attention as your eyesight!
The frequency of hearing checks depends on your age, medical history, and exposure to factors that may affect your hearing. According to the American SpeechLanguage-Hearing Association (ASHA), for adults aged 18–50 without noticeable hearing problems, a hearing screening every 10 years is a useful general guideline. For adults over 50, hearing checks should be carried out every 3 years. Particular attention is recommended if you: work or regularly spend time in noisy environments, have a family history of hearing loss, have already been diagnosed with hearing loss, experience persistent tinnitus In these cases, a hearing specialist may recommend a personalised hearing monitoring schedule based on your individual needs. What does a hearing test involve?
Why is hearing loss prevention important? According to the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 1.5 billion people worldwide live with some degree of hearing loss. Many may not recognise their hearing difficulties or may not receive appropriate support early enough. Regular hearing checks and early intervention can help reduce the long-term impact of hearing loss and make a meaningful difference to communication and overall quality of life. WHEN DO WE STOP WORKING SO HARD? Someone prompted me online today with one of those questions: “What are you working on right now?” I like engaging online as I think it is good for visibility, good for business and good for staying connected to people. So I replied honestly that I usually take August off every year but this year I have been busier than ever and haven’t been able to stick to my usual routine. Since becoming self-employed in 2008 there has rarely been a moment when I haven’t had something on the go. A project, a magazine feature, an event, a press trip a PR client, an idea or another hairbrain scheme that somehow becomes another project And today’s prompt got me thinking, When am I actually going to stop? And more importantly, when am I going to stop feeling as though I have to justify doing something nice for myself? or years I’ve been the sort of person who needed something booked in the diary. Before I moved to Cyprus I always needed flights booked somewhere so I had a goal to look forward to. It was my reward for something that made all the hard work feel worthwhile. In November, I’m going on a huge bucket-list holiday that’s breaking my fuck-it budget and naturally, I’m already doing what I always do.I’m working hard now so I can justify it.Tell me it’s not just me that feels like we have to justify and earn every bit of enjoyment?
Why can't we simply say, “ I want to do this so I’m going to.” I’m currently in the middle of downsizing my life and it’s making me look at everything in a new way. Possessions and priorities have seen a big shift. Material things just don't matter to me anymore. I want experiences not another outfit to cram in my wardrobe. There is another thought that keeps coming back to me. I have lived more years on this planet than I have left so the question I don’t want to be asked isn't “How much more can I achieve?” but “How do I actually want to spend the years I have left?” There is so much more to life than work. There are my children, holidays, good food, friendS, sunshine, laughter and waking up without an alarm, spontaneity, adventures and curiosity. Yet for so many of us who are self-employed, work becomes part of our identity and our blue print and everything I just listed just evaporates into another bucket list. We tell ourselves we’ll slow down when we've achieved the next thing. When the business is bigger. When the next project is finished. When we've made a certain amount of money. When the house is sorted. When the children are older. When everything is finally under control. But it’s the same old story of people thinking when they reach a certain milestone they will be happy. But happiness is not a destination, it is a feeling. Which is why so many sucessful people are still miserable because when they reach that goal they’re looking for the next hit. There will always always another deadline, another email and another reason to keep hustling if that is what you’re looking for. At what point does ambition become obsession? When do we realise that working harder isn't necessarily the same as living better? I don't think I have the answer yet but I have financial
freedom so I can slow down but I don’t want to. I have at least 20 years ot agility left so I am not shuffling off to the garden centre yet. I love what I do. I love creating things, building brands, meeting people, having ideas and watching those ideas become reality. I genuinely don't think I'll ever become someone who happily sits around doing nothing. I don't have to stop working but maybe I just have to stop justifying living and feeling guilty for it. I mean I have worked my ass off so.... Maybe the trip in November doesn't have to be a reward for working myself into the ground and it’s just me enjoying this stage of my life because life isn't a business plan and there is no final deadline. I don’t need to earn my life, I’m already living it and I am fortunate to have created a fabulous dual lifestyle to enjoy the benefits of both Cyprus and Liverpool. I have a great lifestyle so I may as well bloody well enjoy it.

BY 2028 TODAY'S DIGITAL CURRICULUM COULD ALREADY BE OUT OF DATE, SAYS DIGITAL SKILLS EXPERT CRISPIN READ.
About The Coders Guild
The Coders Guild helps SMEs harness the digital tools and approaches that power tech success stories. Building on deep expertise in software development, AI, and cyber security, we make advanced digital capabilities practical and accessible through bootcamps, apprenticeships, and hands-on training. The Coders Guild focuses on giving smaller businesses the knowledge they need to work smarter and stay secure in a digital-first world.
Crispin Read says AI is changing the way people work faster than education systems can update what they teach, so pathways being designed now need to be built to change with the jobs they lead to. As CEO of The Coders Guild, leaders of the Level 4 AI and Automation apprenticeship, says the figures point to a wider problem with how we design education and skills pathways.
He says: “If we were to design a set of pathways now, start delivering them in September 2028, and they're out of date on the first morning. That's not pessimism, it's arithmetic. In digital and AI the tooling turns over every few weeks. “So the valuable thing to build now is the updating mechanism and ensuring a way for content to change every term, in response to what's actually happening in workplaces, without a two-year approval cycle attached to it.” “That's the part we've solved, and it isn't theoretical. If something needs to change, it changes, and it's in the material the next time it's taught. We run that loop in days rather than years.”
Will AI Make Your Business Extinct?
Bill Gates has just issued a stark warning: is your job on the extinction list?
It’s a question that suddenly feels a lot less like science fiction. Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates warns that artificial intelligence could rapidly transform the workplace, with jobs in areas including sales, customer service, software engineering, paralegal work, data analysis and even parts of medicine among those facing major disruption. He believes the impact could spread far beyond the white-collar professions, with robotics eventually taking on physical work too. Journalism and copywriting jobs are also shrinking. But perhaps the real question isn't Will AI take my job? It's “Will I learn to use AI before someone else does?” The future of work is not humans versus machines. It is more likely to be humans who know how to use AI versus humans who don't.
AI can process information, produce content, analyse data and complete repetitive tasks in seconds. That makes it incredibly attractive to businesses looking to improve efficiency and reduce costs. However, human skills remain difficult to replicate. Creativity, emotional intelligence, leadership, judgement, persuasion and genuine relationships still require people. Rather than asking whether AI will take everyone's jobs, perhaps the better question is: which jobs will AI change first, and who will be ready for it? Over the next three years, AI is unlikely to wipe out entire professions overnight, but it could make many roles dramatically smaller or even obsolete. Jobs based heavily on repetitive, predictable tasks are particularly vulnerable — including basic data entry, call-centre and customer-service roles, telemarketing, routine bookkeeping, payroll processing, transcription, basic translation, administrative assistants and some junior content-writing and graphic-design positions. AI can already handle much of the work involved in drafting emails, analysing documents, producing reports, scheduling, processing invoices and creating standard marketing content. The bigger question isn't simply “Will AI take my job?” but “How much of my job can AI do faster and cheaper?” Over the next three years, people who combine human judgement, creativity, relationships and specialist expertise with AI are likely to be far safer than those whose work consists mainly of repetitive digital tasks.
