Born in Działoszyce-Poland, Josef was just 13 years old when he was captured and sent to Plaszow Concentration Camp. He lost his entire family and spent his youth as a slave labourer in Mauthausen, Melk, Flossenberg and Auschwitz before being liberated from Ebensee in1945. After the war he made it his mission to help find forgotten and lost Jewish children in Poland as well as chasing down Nazis and ensuring they were brought to justice. Level 3 Youth Work Practice & Mental Health Awareness

in the Ultra-Orthodox Jewish Community Delivered by Melech Dovid Kanter & Nechama Rechnitzer in conjunction with Salford City Council (IYSS) th ovember Applications due in 17 N Due to the success of the ‘We Tell You’ research project in the Jewish Community, we are delighted to have secured the funding to start implementing some of its findings. Melech Dovid Kanter and Nechama Rechnitzer will be co-delivering a bespoke year long Youth Work Practice Level 3 qualification with colleagues from Salford City Councils IYSS service. The course is tailored to enable trainees to develop their practice supporting children and young people’s emotional health and wellbeing, incorporating professional supervision, group reflection and added expertise to support colleagues and settings. All applicants must be currently working within a young person setting (for ages 12-25) in the Orthodox Jewish Community • Separate Male and Female courses • Limited places are available • Successful applicants will be interviewed the weeks commencing 25th November / 2nd December • Course is free of charge to successful applicants The course is designed to accredit, professionalise and educate members of the community already working within young people settings. It is a bespoke, co-designed, culturally sensitive course delivered by highly qualified, respected and experienced mental health specialists from across sectors including Rabbonim from London, Israel and America.

Funded employment will be available for exceptional trainees within their settings for 2 years after course completion. If I’ve registered as an organ donor, will my family have a say about me donating my organs? We know that in most cases families will agree to donation if they know that was their loved one's decision. If the family, or those closest to the person who has died, object to the donation even when their loved one has given their explicit permission (either by joining the NHS Organ Donor Register or by carrying an organ donor card) or deemed consent applies (did NOT opt out), healthcare professionals will discuss the matter sensitively with the family. They will be encouraged to accept their loved one's decision and it will be made clear that they do not have the legal right to veto or overrule that decision. There may, nevertheless, be cases where it would be inappropriate for donation to go ahead if donation would cause distress to the family.
