Their great yearning and sacrifice has provided our generation with full, easy and affordable access to Rebbe Nachman’s Tzion in Uman. Getting There Return flights to Kiev start from under £215. You will fly via a European hub to arrive in a modern and efficient airport in Kiev. You can book these flights as you would any other trip, through a travel agent or online.

Kiev to Uman Most travellers will make this journey of under three hours by private taxi or minibus. A private taxi using a modern car will cost around $100 one way and can be arranged in advanced or in the arrival hall of the airport. You can split the cost of a taxi with others. Alternatively you can purchase a ticket for a shared minibus. These tickets, which are about £45 return, are bought in advance and on arrival in Kiev you will be directed to the waiting minibuses.

Accomodation All types of accommodation from the basic and cheap to the luxurious and expensive are on oﬀer. Prices are on a per bed basis for the duration of your stay whether it is just 3 days or if you are there for up to ten days. Basic accommodation will cost around $100 for a bed in a shared room with temporary bathroom facilities. You can arrange to sleep in the home of a local for around $250-$550. 2

Finally there are many groups and businesses oﬀering top class accommodation which will often include catering and a private mikva where prices will range from $500-$2000. Only in the most expensive accommodation can you expect to get a private room and you will need to book early to ensure this.

Food Weekdays You can take food with you and many types of accommodation will give you access to a fridge/freezer. Once in Uman you will be able to purchase normal kosher food from the large and well stocked shops. Fresh food is also prepared and sold in Uman under a variety of Hechsheirim. You can buy fast food such as pizza, falafel, burgers & shwarmas and there is a fully stocked deli and bakery. Coﬀee, tea, water and biscuits are available for free 24/7.
