How does a trip to Eretz Yisroel sound? All you need to do is put your creativity to good use. This coming Rosh Hashanah, a new Shmitah year begins. For a full year, farmers in Eretz Yisroel will take a break from their fields. It may seem fun to have no job for a year, but it’s actually pretty tough on the farmers. because they have no income. Chevras Shmitah is the kids division of Keren Hashviis, an organization that raises money for the farmers so that they can keep this very special mitzvah.

Those Gedolei Hador of the past who have permitted sheitels did so on condition that they are clearly recognizable as such. We are not ruling at this point on the general appearance of sheitels today, which requires a great tikkun. However at this moment in time we are announcing ‫ דעת תורה‬especially concerning the lace type sheitels. Any sheitel featuring LACE CAPS/ LACE FRONTS/LACE TOPS and any variation of such sheitels, under any name, is forbidden. We are also informing all sheitel manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers that it is forbidden to conduct business involving lace front/lace cap/ lace top sheitels, and those who do so are considered machati’ei harabim – people who cause the public to sin. We give a ‫ ברכה‬to all who cease to sell these sheitels that they should be greatly blessed with all the ‫ ברכות‬in the ‫ תורה‬and that they should succeed in all their endeavours. The Daf HaYomi B’Halacha program’s learning methods have been encouraged by Torah leaders, as a way to become proficient in Halacha. The program entails learning a daily page of Mishnah Berurah, a page of “Biurim Umusafim” (found in the Dirshu Mishnah Berurah). The Dirshu organization awards stipends for those with outstanding grades on the Daf HaYomi B’Halacha tests that are given monthly, generally on a Friday. The responsibility that comes with taking tests has a great influence on one’s Torah learning.
