Please provide us with some background The kollel was established in 2015 recognising a need for avreichim to be part of a solid framework, with a structured program to learn through masechtos in completion, and with clarity. Hence KKH was founded starting with a small group of 6.

I understand since then it has expanded?

One walks into the beis hamedrash and feels the pulse of the yungeleit learning – with a sense of responsibility and commitment to accomplish that days goal.. there’s no time to waste and any day or part of which is missed creates a backlog!

Can you share with us any particular accomplishments?

In a big way! There was gradual expansion until last Elul when we had a spurt of growth and almost doubled. Currently we are ka”h 22 in the chabura and still growing bez”h.

Since the inception we have bs”d completed in-depth, masechtos Yoma, Brochos, Shabbos, Beitzoh and half of Eruvin. As you can see we have made a good start in going through shas!

Can you describe what is unique about this kollel

Are there any extra features you can tell us about?

It is an amud-yomi program i.e 5 amudim a week with chazoroh on Friday. A further monthly chazoroh is then followed by a written farher. What’s poignant is, that although there is a committed pace to keep to, at the same time the avreichim are not giving up on a clear understanding of the material being learnt. Many are also seeing the main rishonim and acharonim on the sugyo. This way they are bs”d mastering masechtos and ultimately all of shas!

Well, there are regular chaburos presented by kollel members, giving each one of them the opportunity to share his ideas and chidushim with the group – which obviously promotes pilpul chaverim, a vital aspect to kollel learning. Aside from that the rosh chabura delivers chaburos, with an emphasis on halocho lemaaseh, based on the sugyos.

Oh I think its clicked now – that’s why the kollel is named “kinyan hashas”? You got it!

In addition there is a special “kinyan masechta” program - an extra chazoroh on the entire masechta. This is a stimulator for gaining a real kinyan in the masechta, one avreich for example reviewed all of the 156 blatt of maseches Shabbos 3 times!

So what type of avreichim do you have? And what age group? We’re not discriminating in type, style or age, as you may be able to discern from the pictures! The common factor is they’re all serious about their learning, and committed to keeping up to the daily and weekly quota.
