What is Oirayse? Oirayse is a UK organisation to motivate Avreichim to write Chidushei Torah, established shortly after the passing of the beloved Mirrer Rosh Yeshiva Hagoan R’ N.Z.Finkel in the year 5772 le’iluy nishmoso. What does Oirayse do with the written work they receive? A team of Talmidei Chachomim are employed to comment on the content and the way it’s been presented. The writer receives these comments together with his monetary prize. As a result Seforim are in the process to be printed with the plan to be shared on Oitzar Hachochma and Hebrew Books. This sounds tremendous! Do you see any actual benefits from your system? Most definitely yes! Firstly, we have bsd managed to unlock much potential which would otherwise have been wasted. Many of our members would never have reached such clarity in their learning. Additionally, Oirayse serves as a platform for someone that has been learning for some time, that does not have an official position. He can now have his work read and evaluated by our team of Talmidei Chachomim and eventually be shared with the public. Could you share perhaps some feedback from your members? Sure! “Many Chidushim and key concepts that would have not been discovered or would have at best remained vague, are elucidated and simplified

when I put my thoughts into writing”. “Having a monthly structured system which process’ my chidushei Torah, motivates me tremendously”. “Oirayse has enabled me to deliver various shiurim in Halocho at “End your Day the Torah Way”.

Thank you that sounds incredible! What is the second organisation called “Torah Dilei” ? An organisation established a few years ago in Eretz Yisroel to inspire Bochurim to write Torah. About 4 years Oirayse opened a branch here in the UK currently running in Yeshivas Sharei Torah, Manchester, with other UK Yeshivos in the pipe-line hopefully joining soon.

What Is the Third scheme called “Torah Magne Umatzla”? Since Covid started, Oirayse opened its doors not only to its long-standing members but rather to the entire community inspiring tens upon tens of Bochurim and Avreichim throughout the challenging period of the virus, period of the virus, reaching out to many different yeshivos and kolelim. TORAH MAGNE UMATZLA, meaning that Torah has the Power to protect and Save. Instead of monthly stipends, we gave a very minimal amount for every shtikel Torah written, and entered the writers into a goirel awarding 3 Bochurim winners and 3 Avreichim winners. We are currently in the middle of our fourth round.

What does Torah Dilei do with the written work they receive? Twice a week a representative collects the written work from the allocated Post-box in the Yeshiva, which then gets scanned and sent to Eretz Yisroel. Once it’s typed up, its returned to the Yeshiva to be checked over by the designated Hanholo member to check it over and comment on it. Softback personalised booklets are printed. Each one is a collection of all that the individual Bochur has written throughout the zman.

What message can you share with the public to inspire them to donate generously to the upcoming Charidy campaign? Oirayse is a unique organisation which is transforming the entire level of learning for tens of people. Each shtikel Torah demands hours of serious omol Hatorah, including out of the Beis Hamidrash. It’s a tremendous exceptional investment producing amazing results revealing much latent potential. We welcome you warmly to help generate more Torah!

What effect does this have on the Bochur involved? The satisfaction of a Bochur seeing a printed version of the many sugyas he has written on is absolutely tremendous and helps him become deeply connected to the Torah, making it "his torah" translated in Aremaic as "Torah Dilei"

Your Yeshiva has been widely advertised recently. Can you tell us in short, what’s the ethos of Yeshivas Ohr Chodosh? Harav Yisroel Aaron Schwalbe shlit”a, Rosh Yeshiva To provide an enhanced yeshiva experience for bochurim leaving High School and starting their Yeshiva life. A Yeshiva where bochurim will develop a passion for learning. And subsequently become Talmidei Chachomim Yirei Shamayim, with each bochur realizing his full potential. Anyone involved in Chinuch knows that that’s quite a tall order nowadays. How does one ignite a passion for learning in a world full of distractions? Harav Yosef Shloime Cohen shlit”a, Iyun Maggid Shiur and Rav of Adass Yeshurun

All bochurim want to grow. The secret is to allow a bochur to feel he’s shteiging. This is acheived by incorporating what comes as standard in Eretz Yisroel and America, where the sedorim become progressively longer and the shiurim become increasingly deeper over time. This way a bochur feels he’s succeeding and enjoys what he’s doing. Success breeds success! R’ Uri, would you like to add anything? Harav Uri Falk shlit”a, Iyun Maggid Shiur Ohr Chodosh has many more unique features but you said we’ve only got 5 mins! Maggidei Shiur are in the Beis Hamedrash for the entire seder (besides for the meishivim) providing unparalleled clarity in the sugya. This also builds a lasting kesher between Rebbe and Talmid, the value of which cannot be underestimated. R’ Yona, apparently you’re in Yeshiva in the afternoons.

In what way is the afternoon seder unique? Harav Yona Kaufman shlit”a, Maggid Shiur We have reinstated the mehalech of Yeshivos before the war where bekiyus seder is just that: a seder where bochurim learn a considerable amount of dafim each month. They follow a rigorous chazora programme and are tested regularly. A bochur who comes out of a zman knowing many, many dafim with clarity and confidence will feel an exceptional sense of accomplishment. If the yeshiva is so successful, what’s this building campaign all about? Harav Chanoich Greenblatt shlit”a, Maggid Shiur In short, we’re bursting out of our present premises. It’s a miracle we’ve managed this long and the credit goes to our dear bochurim who have shteiged so much despite the lack of

space. In addition, parents are begging for their sons to stay for a third year, which would be impossible without a larger building. So can you tell me more about the new building? Harav Yisroel Aaron Schwalbe shlit”a, Rosh Yeshiva We feel privileged that with tremendous siyatta dishmaya we found the Manchester Yeshiva Building on Seymour Rd where the Manchester Rosh Yeshiva zt’’l taught Torah Ve’yiras Shamayim years ago. However it’s fallen into disrepair and renovation is extremely costly! So that will explain all those campaign ads… Yes, indeed! This is a one-off opportunity which I’m sure no one would like to miss! If we all do our bit, it will happen Be’ezras Hashem!
