THE MISSION

Maminventwaslaunchedasaone-person startup in 2012 after Éva’s long years in education and culture as a certified teacher of English, translator, and cultural manager. Following the birth of her third sonshefelttheneedtobranchout,initially creating bags, children’s toys, and babyfriendly accessories using chiefly repurposedandrecycledmaterials.

In 2016, just six weeks after giving birth to her fourth son, Éva was invitedtospeakatTEDxDebrecen. She talked about her inspirations andwhatdrovehertochangeher career and focus on design and environmentalconsciousness.

THE FASHION SHOW

The year 2017 saw significant advancements such as Éva’s first fashion show presenting the Maminvent collection she designed while nursing her newborn.

In the same year she purchased her first batch of genuine leather, a material she had had a special relationship with since her childhood, something that would defineherworkforyearstocome in the form of bags, jewelry, belts andotheraccessories.

In2017Évatookpartinsettingup the design collective ”Csak Design,” a platform for creatives from Debrecen and its vicinity. This groundbreaking initiative, materializing in monthly design fairs, quickly became the most significant design forum outside Budapest. After some years Éva tookoverasthemainorganizer.

AMERICAN CORNER DEBRECEN

Between 2015 and 2018 Éva was a frequent contributor to events organized by American Corner Debrecen. On weekends she held craft parties in English for the little ones at the Kids’ Corner with various themes centered around sustainability.

She was also a guest speaker at American Corner’s progressive Grow Camps talking to teenage girls about leadership and entrepreneurship as well as facilitating team-building activities.

In 2023 October Éva and a fellow designer opened EVANI Studio, showroom and atelier, in the heart of Debrecen, which houses workshops and cultural events (EVANI Movie Nights, Budapest International DocumentaryFestivalopeningnight).

PROFESSIONALISM

12 years of trial-and-error practice, growth, and continuous learning have yielded a vast repository of professional experience.

In February 2024 Éva completed her studies in leather craftsmanship, earning the degree of certified leather worker. She is eager to share her professional insightswiththoseinterested.

AsthemanagerofherownbrandÉvaoversees

all aspects of the business: purchasing base materials, handling orders and packaging, maintaining the web shop, keeping contact with customers, coming up with new design ideas and turning them into reality, taking product photos, tending social media platforms, billing, and organizing workshops. Suchfullcontrolensuresbalanceandquality.

THE ATELIER

Éva’s basement in her Martinka family home boasts a spacious atelier with all her materials and equipment, where she welcomes visitors as well as participants in DIY events. Her operations have always focused on sustainability and eco-design, therefore she strives to retain any reusable waste (leather or fabric) to turn it into jewelry or use it for small projectsduringworkshops.

WORKSHOPS

Maminvent offers a wide selectionofcraftparties: One-on-one tutoring, corporate team building, kids’ playdates, couple or family sessions, birthdays, hen parties, and other festiveoccasions-inbothstudios as well as at prearranged locations (schools, restaurants, office spaces, etc. in or outside Debrecen).
