Parents should definitely have an estate plan to determine who would care for their children if the unthinkable happens. Otherwise, the state will decide on a guardian. 34% of people started estate planning due to the birth of a child. 52% of Americans 55 and over say dying without an estate plan would be “irresponsible,” 22% say it would be “inconsiderate,” and 14% say it would be “ignorant.”
Caritas Society Spotlight Barbara & Jim Dunigan P’98 PT Alumni parents Barbara and Jim Dunigan P'98 PT have thought a lot about what is important in their lives, so they did not want to leave their legacy to chance. That's why they felt it was important to join the Caritas Society by including Malvern Prep in their estate plans. Jim and Barbara are grateful for the impact that Malvern Prep has had on their son, William, who went to Princeton and now works for BlackRock Asset Management. “The friendships that Billy made at Malvern Prep have been a significant part of his life,” says Jim, who was a past trustee at the school. “Billy is who he is because of Malvern Prep.” The Dunigans wanted to make sure that Malvern Prep will continue to shape the lives of young men like their son, and for them, the best way to do that was through a bequest in their will. Jim understands the importance of financial planning, and he hopes that others will think about their charitable intentions and join him in the Caritas Society. “Life comes at you fast,” he says, “but at least you can have a plan. A bequest is the easiest gift that you can make. The hardest part is just making the appointment with your lawyer.”

2026 BASH donors came together to name Ring Road for the 2026-2027 academic year. "LLKT" most prominently refers to Live Like KT. A call to live with grit, humility, and kindness honoring Kevin "KT" Donohue ’27.

Stewart Hall’s
Fr. Bill Atkinson Atrium Outdoor common space honoring Father Bill Atkinson, O.S.A. First known quadriplegic Catholic priest is officially recognized as a Servant of God, marking the first formal step on the path toward sainthood. The area is located between the outdoor Caritas basketball courts and Stewart Hall. All steel and roof framing has been completed. Roof work is expected to begin, marking another important step forward for the space for our Friars on campus.

Renovation
New landscaping, external building repainted to match the color scheme of campus, additional fencing and new walkway connecting the O’Neill Center to the Davis Center, renovated squash courts.

NEW Scoreboard Through a generous donor, Malvern Prep has upgraded our scoreboard and repositioned it adjacent to the tennis courts to make room for the Davis Center and Our Lady of Victory Grotto.

OPENING Fall 2026 The Davis Center will serve as the cornerstone of the student experience at Malvern Prep, housing state-ofthe-art athletic locker rooms, innovative academic spaces dedicated to data analytics, a teaching kitchen for experiential learning, and flexible collaboration areas that foster connection among students, alumni, and the broader Malvern Community. This multipurpose facility reflects the School’s commitment to developing well-rounded young men who are prepared to lead with purpose in every dimension of life.

The rosengarten ranch Over the past three years, Malvern Prep has been getting back to its roots by developing an agriculture program. The Rosengarten Ranch — named for the family who lived on the land before Malvern Prep purchased it — has grown over 2,100 pounds of fresh, organic produce, all donated to Sanctuary Farm, an urban farm in North Philadelphia that connects its community with healthy food. In addition to fruits, vegetables, and fresh herbs, the Ranch has expanded to include chickens that produce farm-fresh eggs for the community, along with a small barn to support the Ranch's operations. To help connect students with nature in a safe way, a trail system was completed, welcoming community members to explore the surrounding landscape, including the pond. Benches were placed along the trail for those who wish to pause, reflect, and take a mental health break. Looking ahead, plans include planting more PA-native species along the trail and Ranch, starting an orchard, and building a high tunnel to extend the growing seasons. This work has been made possible by students, teachers, staff, alumni, and parents, who remain excited about the growing potential of this rapidly expanding Ranch program.
