Fishing on The Water By Max Izzi

The shining calming water glaring now
Lines and rods casting with the fish jumping
The small ones shocking with the big ones WOW
Calming water or with water roughing
All the fish trying to survive the hooks
Smelly bait will be catching the big ones
With the big ones you are catching LOOK
The times you have don't waste on your phones
A lot of time you may get skunked fishing
Fishing is like meditating all day
Like hitting a drive into the fair way
Fishing is satisfying why its the way
Fishing for the big ones hours in the sun
Why being on water all day is so fun

Summer-byVictorSage
The hot summer rays shine down on me
No breeze at all is blowing through the air
Just me relaxing by the shining sea
Warm sand rests softly underneath my chair
Cold ice cream slowly melting oh so smooth
It tastes like heaven floating with lots of clouds
The freezing sweetness numbed my tooth
I smiled beneath the quiet summer clouds
But then the peaceful daytime changes quick
From gentle sunshine to a heavy rain
The dark gray skies made everyone feel sick And deep inside I only felt the pain
From sun and ice cream, I thought it would stay
But in the end, it all was washed away

The Wonders ofSpace — Br
ayden Rigler
Just past the moon, a galaxy does glow
Their endless light moves softly through the night
Like silver rivers, countless star winds flow
And paint the dark with streams of burning light

A rocket climbs beyond the clouds of Earth
Its metal wings cut through the freezing sky
It searches for the stars that gave dreams birth
While distant planets shimmer far and high
Yet black holes wait where light can never flee
They twist the stars within their endless spin
Like ancient kings who rule this cosmic sea
Still humans chase the mysteries within
For space reveals how small our lives may be
Yet fills our hearts with curiosity

Kenya Trip - sonnet
and images by
Barrett Slye
Discovery but it inflicts hazard
Beauty not only people but in wild
Color stands out as Spiderman lizard
People are predators but they are styled

A single male will rule across the plain
The horns will clash one wins and one grows old
The gazelles flee across the plain
While cheetahs chase their eyes of burning gold
Yet beauty turns to danger fear and pain
For life grows harsh when young and weak grow old
Like kings at war the strong still seek the fame
While sunset paints the fields with peaceful cold

Oh Kenya you shall always hold my heart
Where wild and wondrous creatures roam part

Basketball
By:ChristianKerentzis
Basketball is the game I love each day
I practice hard and try to help my team
I move like lighting when I drive and play
The crowd gets loud and cheers and starts to scream
The shiny court lights glow above the gym
My shoes go squeaky across the wooden floor
The bouncy ball sounds loud and never dim
The fans stand up and always cheer for me
But when my team begins to lose the game
I feel afraid we might lose tonight
Like Michael Jordan I still play the same
And keep on trying hard with all my might
So basketball will always be my pride
Because I feel my best when I’m inside

Macy
by: Jack Caramanico
My dog named Macy runs across the yard.
Her curly fur shines so bright like the sun.
She protects our house like heroes standing guard. She makes me laugh until the day is done.
She smells the ground and sniffs for crumbs to find.
Her wagging tail goes wild like flags in air
She jumps so high to sky it blows my mind. Her bark is loud. I hear it everywhere.
But sometimes she is a bad girl. Beware.
She steals my socks and hides them in her bed.
Like Cupid's arrow flying through the air.
She fills my heart with love and joy instead.
No matter what, she'll always be my friend. My love for Macy will not ever end.

Golf - by Charles Blok
Golf is a game that teaches you a skill
You learn to stay calm when something’s at stake.
You have to trust each swing to build a skill
The pressure can rise with each shot you take
Sometimes the ball disappears in the trees
Your swing may feel weaker than the bees knees
The game helps players stay patient to stay pleased With each mistake, try to feel the breeze.
You have to practice and working is fun
Improving your game each possible way
Golf can be fun when played in the hot sun
I love this great sport because it is great

Fall-
By Nolan Gratton
The smell in the air on Halloween night,
As you walk, the leaves crunch under your feet,
The way that the people are dressed as knight,
On Halloween night, the people you meet,
The pumpkin patches are the place to be
Hayrides, the way that the straw sits on you
The sight of seeing them, with all the glee
The way the sky looks, it is very blue

But cooler air now rests upon the trees
The way the temperature rises and drops
Juliet falls like the leaves on the trees
How all of the candles are in the shops
How I stand out and watch with all of my friends;
I stand there thinking, this is how fall ends

The Bright Field Glow-Kolton Kirby
I live for nights beneath the bright field glow
The crowd erupts each time the bat connects The smell of dirt and grass I’ve come to know Each pitch can change what every fan expects
The scoreboard shines while pressure fills the air
I feel my heart race with each stolen base
The crack of wood makes worries disappear
Excitement spreads across each smiling face
But seasons slowly come at last to end Like David and Goliath, it will fade
The games become old stories, friends still send And memories replace the wins we made
Yet, baseball stays long after games are through
Because the sport becomes a part of you

A Ball and A Game -
By Maddox Leighton
A sport with a ball known around the sphere
A game with many teammates and opponents
The fans are as loud as whales while they cheer
As the World Cup brings all the components
The ball moves quick at the touch of their feet
A gunshot is heard when shooting the ball
The fans cheer and stomp their feet to the beat
They shout at the ref who made a bad call
And suddenly our team surges forward fast
The defenders quickly close the gap

Our player breaks through their line strong at last
He shoots the ball and scores with just a tap
While the game ends, the fans cheer a final time
As our players walk off the field and don’t whine

Steak
By Ryan Seeger
On the blackstone, juices on steaks sizzle
The spiced smell in the air, turns all the heads
Like a tub of gold, the butter drizzles
My stomach sounds loud, looking at the spread
A perfect meal on a hot or cold day
No matter the time, ribeyes my reply
Paired with potatoes or mac, steak’s the way
When mom says no steak, I let out a sigh
A cut in the meat, my tummy grumbles
My dad applauds, like I just won money
Like I’m Gordan Ramsay, I stay humble
When I taste the cut, It’s like warm honey

For my love for steak will never die
Because whenever I taste it I cry

Stone Harbor
By Trent Chisholm
In Stone Harbor by the calm ocean blue.
Warm summer sand sticks softly to my feet.
The summer skies shine so bright and so true.

While the salty air and cool sunshines meet.
The waves crash loudly as gentle birds fly.
The town thrives as friendly people so roam. The orange sunset paints the evening sky. So every street feels like a second home.
The beach fill with memories each new day.
Although summer always fades and times change.
Biking at night and games for children's play.
Arriving back feels as hardened chains break.
And no matter what the future may hold.
Stone Harbor memories will never mold.

The Magical Stream
By Nate Hengst
The flowing stream shines in the light of day
With fish jumping and splashing at sunrise
The creek rushed like the fish that got away
Water flashed like glass in front of my eyes
Brisk air brushing against the willow trees My waders suddenly cool in the creek
The sounds of birds chirping in the breeze
Catching fish big and small blesses my week
But the sky turned dark and the river went still
The cool summer breeze turned mean and to storm
Like Noah, I road the raging river thrill
Fish never stop fighting, in their worst form
Before I left my line started running away It was the biggest fish of the whole day.

Gods And Myths
B
y
Nate Mink
The gods of olds, not bound to times
The life within be ground in stone
To be a God they have no mind
They have no set home but are not alone
To be famous you have got to really think
Myths aren ’ t real nor fake but just there
The world is very close to the brink
The myths just come out of whole thin air
But to be a god is to be celebrated
No god has ever been killed by others
Lightning can be as dull as some out-dated
Gifts and dangers of a divine mother
Gods are just nothing from everyone
They come when everything becomes someone

O
dear spring, return soon
by Logan Cosgrove
O warmth of spring under the sun
You bring us comfort, the only one like liquid gold; you run beneath us
To chase the frozen winter chills away
The emerald grass awakens from the earth
And sweet birds sing their songs
Each newborn blossom celebrates its birth
As vibrant colors dance and play along Yet fleeting the season of delight
For summer's heat will make you bright
Like passing youth before the reach of night
We hold these precious moments tight
So praise the days of spring before they depart
And keep its endless warmth within your heart
Fishing The Deep Blue Sea
Sonnet and Picture By: Conner Stevenson
Fish in the ocean splashing in the blue
Casting far out in the ocean’s blue deep
The fish’s sharp teeth are filled with fish too
All the fish are moving to the vast deep
The fish you are catching swim deep deep down
Reeling the fish is still rugged and rough
The fish that you catch is the best around
The spiny scales are all jagged and tough
But now your tough line is starting to break
Like Conor McGregor always slips away
You will be lucky the fish don't shake
After the line breaks it swims far away
Fishing is fun until your line just breaks
You wake up and find the whole thing was fake

Ode to Clarendon - Piano Love
by Sue Giordani
And so, it started with the rhythmic beat
That tap, tap tapping of a toe or two
When first I fell in love with you so sweet. Swift melodies, soft sounds they rang from you.
At first, those ivory keys did beckon white Glowed teasingly to melody, a tune. My fingers danced, through darkened shades of night Those major notes, a flower stalked to bloom.
But, then when storm clouds rolled and thundered by Each finger fumbled Beethoven and Bach. The memories of those minor keys so fly Echoed such melodies toward modern rock.
Oh, sweet piano, life songs you will bring; My thanks rings true for teaching me to sing!
