DANCERS TO GO GLOBAL

Aurora Dance Studio, based in Rolleston, is preparing for an exciting international adventure. Sixteen talented dancers, aged 12 to 19, will represent the studio on a trip to the USA (New York and Florida) as part of the ‘She Shines On’ program in April 2025. The group, made up of 14 girls and two boys, will have the opportunity to showcase their skills, learn from some of the best in the dance industry, and immerse themselves in the culture of dance on a global scale. This is a monumental opportunity for these young performers, however the road to the USA hasn't come without hard work, dedication, and some delicious fundraising efforts. The Aurora Dance Studio community has come together, supporting the team through a variety of creative initiatives to help cover the costs of the trip. From selling cookie dough, socks, spices, chocolates, and pies, to hosting discos and movie nights, the dancers and their families have been busy.

The latest big event was an exciting quiz night that took place on September 22 at The Pedal Pusher in Rolleston. This event was a fun-filled evening with proceeds going directly to supporting the dancers on their journey. Aurora Dance Studio has been a hub for young dance talent in the Rolleston area since April 2020. Offering a variety of dance styles and catering to all age groups, the studio has fostered a community that encourages creativity, teamwork, and a passion for performance.

The upcoming trip to the USA is a testament to the studio's commitment to providing extraordinary opportunities for its dancers, and it’s clear that the Rolleston community is right behind them. This trip is a dream come true for many of the young dancers,

and it’s an inspiring example of what can be achieved when a community comes together. Be sure to show your support at the quiz night and wish the dancers the best of luck as they prepare to represent Rolleston and New Zealand on the world stage!
