The Art of Photography Exhibition was held from July 13-25 at Te Ara Atea, Rolleston. It featured an exhibition of printed photographic works by local photographers (both professional and amateur) who live and work in the Selwyn District, to help promote the art of photography. Overall Awards: • Exhibition Best in Show: Sarah Smith (West Melton) for Rain and Light. • Exhibition Honours: Emma Steel (Rolleston) for Free Dreams. Matariki Competition: • Young Photographer Award: Sjahn Bourne (Christchurch) for Mystical Morph. • Highly Commended Awards were presented to: - Bailee Barton (Coalgate) x 2 - Sjahn Bourne (Chch) x 2 - Asher Spragg (Lincoln) - Tom Arps (Rolleston) - Chris Pegman (Rolleston) - Cairo Akehurst (Rolleston)

The judges were particularly pleased with the number of young people entering the Matariki Competition with over half of the 10 awarded images entered by young photographers.
