Darfield Primary School senior students showcased their energy and precision on Saturday, August 22, 2026, taking out first place at the Strictly JUMP JAM regional competition held at Cashmere High School. Competing in the Strictly category, teams perform original routines exactly as shown in instructional videos, without costume changes or modified choreography. All dancers wear matching JUMP JAM shirts on stage, placing the focus entirely on timing, technique, and team

synchronisation. Darfield entered two teams in the event, involving 34 students in total. The Junior squad of 13 dancers delivered a spirited routine to ‘Shake It Off’, gaining valuable stage experience. The Senior team, comprised of 21 girls performing an electric routine to ‘Greased Lightning', impressed the judges enough to claim top honours in their division. When Darfield was announced as the winner, the reaction on and off the stage was overwhelming. Cont. page 3….
