LOCAL MAN NAMED UMPIRE OF THE YEAR Darfield resident Regan Dalley capped off a successful season by being named Canterbury Cricket Umpire of the Year, following a consistent season across multiple formats and levels of the game. Regan had a successful club career, first playing eight seasons for Darfield during and after his last few years at high school,

captaining the team to win all three Malvern trophies in 2001–02. After returning from his OE in 2009, Regan joined his family’s club, Greendale, where he again enjoyed success. Over his 12 seasons, Greendale won all five competitions available. It was during these years that Regan first met local first-class umpire David Reid, and his interest in umpiring was formed. Regan stepped away from playing and took up umpiring in the 2021– 22 season.
