A phone call caused a bit of a stir recently at TM Dance World, when Tara McKeown received a phone call from a talent booker on behalf of What Now asking if the dance group had a contemporary or acrobatic item. Tara says, "Fortunately for us our intermediate team has been working hard all year on competitive dances as we are travelling to Showcase, Australia in January, so we jumped at the opportunity to perform our contemporary routine called 'Welcome to the Jungle' on live TV". The dance routine, normally around three minutes long needed to be adapted to a maximum of one and a half minutes for the show. She says the routine was changed on the Wednesday and on the Friday, they rehearsed at Whitebait Media studios-home to What Now, Brain Busters and The Feed. "We were so excited to be given a full tour of all the sets, sound, and control rooms by producer, Adam," says Tara. "We were also doing our rehearsals with the very lovely stars of the show, Trubie and Stella!" On Sunday, August 27, the intermediate performance team had a very early 4:30am start and with their call time at 6:30am, they were able to have one more rehearsal with the camera crew. "At around 8:45am, we jumped

into place to perform. At the conclusion of the performance, the girls were interviewed, and spoke about our time dancing at the Hororata Night Glow." If you would like to watch the performance, it can be viewed on TVNZ OnDemand.
