Lucy Jenkins from West Melton has been named in the Black Ferns 2023 Contracted Squad, earlier this week. Prior to this she was named the Sky Super Rugby Aupiki Champion 2023 Wahine of the Match, voted by commentators and received the Aoraki Award for the Matatū Player of the Year. “Lucy played a pivotal role in our Championship season and has shown the world what an incredible player she is. We're very lucky to have her in Matatū Blue and congratulate her on her recent Black Fern Squad selection,” commented a spokesperson from the Club. Lucy has also won five Farah Palmer Cup National Women’s titles over the past six years with Canterbury. “I have been part of this team since I was sixteen years old.
