2024 MALVERN A & P PRESIDENT By Alistair Barnhill, Malvern A & P Association President. In all parts of New Zealand, we have small voluntary committees working behind the scenes who just get things done. They generally have a belief in what they are doing and achieve it on small shoestring financial budgets. Having individuals coming together and combining their broad talents and knowledge achieves amazing outcomes which generally can’t be matched in the corporate world. I would encourage anybody to belong to such organisations as it can be very rewarding in so many ways. The Malvern A & P Show is no different, I am blown away by the depth and talent which we have amongst us. Occasionally, as in any organised event, there are hiccups and when these occur it is reassuring to know there is always someone who knows someone, or something, or even maybe has a different perspective which allows a positive response to solve the issue. A massive thanks to all volunteers and committee members who enable the Malvern A & P Show to operate. I would also like to take this opportunity to say a huge thanks to Chris and Rachel Benny for the ongoing generous offer of the use of their land for horses, car parking, dog trials and various other functions - please respect their property and refrain from taking any unvaccinated dogs on their land (all the areas other than the domain itself). This year we warmly invite all volunteers, committee members and sponsors to the bar area, following the speed shearing and gift lamb awards, for a BBQ styled evening. A massive thanks to you all, in advance of our 125th Show. For more information on the Show please see the special pull-out feature in this issue.
