t was Lynn Mensterâs work in the social sector that sparked her interest in participating in the dinner in the dark event. Hosted at the Grand HĂŽtel Cravat as part of the Ville de Luxembourgâs disability awareness week, the dinner allowed guests to experience briefly what it would be like to cope with blindness. âWorking with people who are missing one of the senses, and hearing about dinner in the dark restaurant events abroad, I was interested to experience what it would be like to eat without seeing.â The sign language interpreter was surprised by some of what she experienced, such as not being able to judge exactly how much was on her fork, but says she enjoyed the event. âWe had to use our hands to feel our way around the plate or to help shove food on to the fork, which was ok as nobody could see.â Q
