Guidance Department Coláiste Bríde’s College Awareness Week took place in December. A number of activities took place across all year groups including scavenger hunts, quizzes, guest speakers and panel-talks. Following this our students who are completing their Leaving Certificate in June had the chance to attend Maynooth University’s Open Day. On December 4th the school held our College Fair with representatives attending from all of the main universities in the greater Dublin area. We also had three of our local Colleges of Further Education in attendance. Our Fifth and Sixth Years had the opportunity to discuss their potential future options with college representatives and gain insights into their many courses on offer. Many of our Sixth Years have opened their CAO accounts and we remind those who hope to do so, that it is best to do this now while the fee is lower. Other students are waiting for applications to open for a number of apprenticeships, traineeships and PLC courses in Colleges of Further Education. We urge all of our Sixth Years to continue their research to find the pathway that will suit them best. Young Scientist: The school would like to wish Tegan Timmons the very best of luck with her Young Scientist Ireland entry. YSI’s exhibition and competition takes place in the RDS in January and Tegan has worked with Teen Turn to produce a her work on “Nutritr1ac4k rethinking healthy eating”. Best of luck Tegan!
