De realiteit toont ons de waarde van een sterke, lokale maakindustrie

Als u dit leest bent u al op goede weg en op de juiste plaats. Een bezoek aan de beurs INDUMATION is een must op de agenda van iedereen uit de industriële wereld. Dit jaar is de 8ste editie volledig uitverkocht en kan u zich volop laten inspireren voor een toekomstgerichte productie.

Eind vorig jaar waren we met meer dan 60 industriëlen op werkbezoek in China. We werden geconfronteerd met de vooruitgang in de technologieën zoals AI, robotics, electronica, drones. Artificiële intelligentie staat natuurlijk ook in China aan de top, maar vooral de combinatie van AI met robots spreken zeker tot de verbeelding en worden op dit ogenblik reeds toegepast. We kijken er zeker naar uit hoe de standhouders AI integreren in hun oplossingen.

Dit jaar introduceren we ook de “Innovation Hub” in hal 4, een samenwerking tussen SIRRIS – AGORIA, Fabrieken voor de Toekomst (POM W-VL) en Flanders Make met als thema “The factory of the future is BRIGHT… “.

Technologie evolueert razendsnel en geschikt personeel vinden blijft een uitdaging. Dark Factories gebruiken doorgedreven automatisering om menselijke tussenkomst tot een minimum te beperken en 24/7 te kunnen produceren. Voor massaproductie is de kous hiermee af, maar onze westerse industrie differentieert zich door in te spelen op de groeiende marktvraag naar mass customization met een gespecialiseerde high complexity, high-mix, low-volume productie (hoge productvariatie in kleinere series).

Het groeiende tekort aan personeel en de onzekere waardeketens (geopolitiek, maar ook duurzaamheid) zetten onze huidige productieparadigma’s verder onder druk. Daarnaast toont de dagdagelijkse realiteit ons telkens opnieuw de waarde van een sterke, lokale maakindustrie om onze toekomst en welvaart te garanderen.

Onze fabrieken van de toekomst zullen geen dark-factories zijn zoals we ze kennen uit China, maar mensgerichte en sterk geautomatiseerde organisaties, aangestuurd door intelligente planningsoplossingen en gebouwd op doorgedreven digitalisatie.

Bedrijven moeten cyberweerbaar zijn Tevens willen we ook u als bezoeker bewust maken dat cyberveiligheid zeer belangrijk is en ook in de toekomst zal zijn. Ervoor zorgen dat men cyberweerbaar is, is geen keuze meer maar een zekerheid. Bedrijven die zich niet hiertegen wapenen kunnen concurrentiekracht verliezen tegenover zij die het wel doen. Het is dus een must en begin nog vandaag aan uw weerbaarheid op te bouwen en hier kunnen Agoria leden u helpen.

Al 15 jaar loopt ons Make The Future concept waar we bedrijven begeleiden in hun journey om zich klaar te stomen voor de toekomst. Ook dit jaar zullen weer heel wat bedrijven hun FoF Award behalen en door middel van 7 transformaties hun productie op een hoger niveau tillen. Meer info kan u vinden op de stand van Agoria.

Ook dit jaar verwelkomen we ook heel wat leerlingen en studenten die ook deelnemen aan de Indumation Learning Tour 2026. Leerlingen worden ondergedompeld in de wereld van de industriële automatisering en maken kennis met alle nieuwe technologiën bij de verschillende leden die aan dit initiaief deelnemen.

La réalité nous démontre la valeur d’une industrie manufacturière locale forte

Si vous lisez ceci, vous êtes déjà sur la bonne voie et au bon endroit. Une visite au salon INDUMATION est incontournable pour tous les acteurs du monde industriel. Cette année, la 8e édition affiche complet et vous y trouverez une mine d’inspiration pour une production tournée vers l’avenir.

Fin 2018, nous nous sommes rendus en Chine avec plus de 60 industriels. Nous avons été confrontés aux avancées technologiques dans des domaines tels que l’IA, la robotique, l’électronique et les drones. L’intelligence artificielle est, bien sûr, à la pointe du progrès en Chine, mais la combinaison de l’IA et des robots, en particulier, suscite un vif intérêt et se concrétise déjà. Nous avons hâte de voir comment les exposants intégreront l’IA à leurs solutions.

Cette année, nous inaugurons également le « Innovation Hub » dans le hall 4, fruit d’une collaboration entre SIRRIS-AGORIA, Factories for the Future (POM W-VL) et Flanders Make, sur le thème « The factory of the future is BRIGHT… ».

La technologie évolue rapidement et le recrutement de personnel qualifié demeure un défi. Les usines fantômes utilisent une automatisation poussée pour minimiser l’intervention humaine et permettre une production 24 h/24 et 7 j/7. Si cela pourrait sonner le glas de la production de masse, notre industrie occidentale se différencie en répondant à la demande croissante du marché pour la personnalisation de masse par une production spécialisée, complexe, diversifiée et en petites séries (grande variété de produits en petits lots).

La pénurie croissante de main-d’œuvre et l’incertitude des chaînes de valeur (géopolitiques, mais aussi liées au développement durable) accentuent la pression sur nos modèles de production actuels. Par ailleurs, la réalité quotidienne démontre régulièrement l’importance d’une industrie manufacturière locale forte pour préserver notre avenir et notre prospérité. Nos usines du futur ne seront pas des dark-factories comme celles que l’on connaît en Chine, mais des organisations centrées sur l’humain et hautement automatisées, pilotées par des solutions de planification intelligentes et reposant sur une numérisation poussée.

Garantir la cyber-résilience est une nécessité

Nous souhaitons également vous sensibiliser, en tant que visiteur, à l’importance cruciale de la cybersécurité, qui demeurera essentielle à l’avenir. Garantir la cyber-résilience n’est plus une option, mais une nécessité. Les entreprises qui ne se protègent pas risquent de perdre leur avantage concurrentiel. Il est donc essentiel de renforcer votre résilience dès aujourd’hui. Les membres d’Agoria peuvent vous accompagner.

Depuis 15 ans, notre concept « Make the Future » accompagne les entreprises dans leur préparation à l’avenir. Cette année, de nombreuses entreprises recevront à nouveau leur prix FoF et, grâce à sept transformations, optimiseront leur production. Plus d’informations sont disponibles sur le stand Agoria.

Cette année, nous accueillons également de nombreux élèves et étudiants pour participer à l’Indumation Learning Tour 2026. Technologische vooruitgang cruciaal voor onze welvaart

Het tweejaarlijkse Indumation is uitgegroeid tot de grootste en belangrijkste industriële automatiseringsbeurs in de Benelux. Ook bij deze achtste editie wordt de kar opnieuw getrokken door de drie organisatoren: InduMotion, Agoria en Industrialfairs. Het is een inspanning waar we best trots op mogen zijn, want Indumation blijft groeien en wordt door sommigen nu zelfs omschreven als ‘de kleine Hannover Messe ’.

Indumation 2026 stimuleert de samenwerking tussen bedrijven, zowel nationaal als internationaal. Leveranciers en klanten kunnen elkaar hier ontmoeten, nieuwe contacten leggen en partnerships opstarten. Dit draagt bij aan investeringen, innovatieprojecten en jobcreatie.

Zonder maakindustrie en technologische vooruitgang, is er geen welvaart. De uitdagingen zijn echter immens. Schone lucht, zuiver drinkwater, voldoende voedsel, de zoektocht naar de ‘heilige graal’ van onuitputtelijke energie, een efficiënte gezondheidszorg … Het zijn ingenieurs, technici en wetenschappers die onze wereld beter zullen maken.

Daarom wil Indumation ook studenten en jongeren inspireren. Bij elke editie is de Indumation Learning Tour een succes. Door de zichtbaarheid van moderne technologie en industriële toepassingen op de beurs, krijgen zij een beter beeld van de carrièremogelijkheden in de industrie. Dit is belangrijk in een tijd waarin technische profielen gegeerd zijn op de arbeidsmarkt. Daarin mogen we geen achterstand oplopen. Onze STEM-richtingen dalen, terwijl in China bijna 70 procent van de jongeren afstudeert in een technische richting of als ingenieur!

Innovatie, digitalisering en automatisering maken Europa sterk Recente cijfers van VDMA (Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau, de Duitse vereniging voor machine- en installatiebouw) zijn hoopvol. De wereldeconomie zou dit jaar gemiddeld met 3% groeien en de industrie volgt dit voorbeeld. Er is een licht herstel in de eurozone, een gematigde groei in de Amerikaanse economie en een aanzienlijke groei voor de Aziatische markten. Europa moet blijvend rekening houden met de aanhoudende concurrentiedruk van Chinese bedrijven.

Op korte tijd is de wereldeconomie helemaal veranderd. Van globalisering gaat het nu naar deglobalisering en derisking. Onze Unie van 27 landen mag niet uiteenvallen en een nieuwe, gezamenlijke Europese strategie is noodzakelijk. Een voortdurende onzekerheid – met onder meer ‘de factor Trump’ – is het ‘nieuwe normaal.’ Niemand weet wat op lange termijn de economische vooruitzichten zijn.

Europa is in deze woelige wereld nochtans een ‘veilige haven’, wat de instroom van kapitaal uit het buitenland aantrekt. De geplande versterking van de Europese interne markt (met minder lokale barrières) – als antwoord tegen de machtsblokken China, VS, India en Rusland – zal zuurstof geven aan onze bedrijven. Innovatie, digitalisering en automatisering zullen Europa sterk maken. Daarom is Indumation zo belangrijk, want door het werk van ingenieurs, technici en wetenschappers kan ons continent opnieuw relevant worden.

Europa heeft immers tal van troeven. Hier kan je nog écht vrij ondernemen, zonder grote overheidsinmenging. De academische wereld, onderzoekscentra en wetenschappers worden niet gedwongen om in de pas te lopen. We hebben stabiliteit, rechtszekerheid, privacybescherming en onafhankelijkheid. Maar bovenal: Europa heeft een mature markt met 450 miljoen hoogopgeleide consumenten. Wie wil er nu geen zaken met ons doen?

Le progrès technologique, essentiel à notre prospérité

Le salon biennal Indumation est devenu le plus grand et le plus important salon de l’automatisation industrielle du Benelux. Pour cette huitième édition, les trois organisateurs, InduMotion, Agoria et Industrialfairs, sont une fois de plus à l’avant-garde. Un succès dont nous pouvons être fiers, car Indumation poursuit sa croissance et est même surnommé par certains « la petite Foire de Hanovre ».

Indumation 2026 encourage la collaboration entre les entreprises, tant au niveau national qu’international. Fournisseurs et clients peuvent s’y rencontrer, nouer de nouveaux contacts et créer des partenariats. Ceci favorise les investissements, les projets d’innovation et la création d’emplois.

Sans progrès industriel et technologique, point de prospérité. Or, les défis sont immenses : air pur, eau potable, alimentation suffisante, recherche de l’énergie inépuisable, soins de santé performants… Ce sont les ingénieurs, les techniciens et les scientifiques qui bâtiront un monde meilleur.

C’est pourquoi Indumation souhaite également inspirer les étudiants et les jeunes. Le salon Indumation Learning Tour est un succès chaque année. La présentation des technologies modernes et des applications industrielles permet aux participants de mieux appréhender les perspectives de carrière dans le secteur. C’est crucial à l’heure où les profils techniques sont très recherchés sur le marché du travail. Nous ne devons pas prendre de retard. Nos filières scientifiques et techniques sont en déclin, alors qu’en Chine, près de 70 % des jeunes obtiennent un diplôme technique ou deviennent ingénieurs !

L’innovation, la numérisation et l’automatisation font la force de l’Europe. Les chiffres récents de la VDMA (Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau, la fédération allemande des industries mécaniques et de l’ingénierie des installations) sont encourageants. L’économie mondiale devrait croître en moyenne de 3 % cette année, et l’industrie suit cette tendance. On observe une légère reprise dans la zone euro, une croissance modérée aux ÉtatsUnis et une forte croissance sur les marchés asiatiques. L’Europe doit continuer à prendre en compte la pression concurrentielle persistante des entreprises chinoises.

En peu de temps, l’économie mondiale a radicalement changé. Elle passe désormais de la mondialisation à la démondialisation et à la réduction des risques. Notre Union des 27 pays ne doit pas se désintégrer, et une nouvelle stratégie européenne commune est essentielle. L’incertitude constante, y compris l’effet Trump, est devenue la norme. Nul ne sait quelles seront les perspectives économiques à long terme.

Dans ce monde turbulent, l’Europe est un refuge sûr, attirant les capitaux étrangers. Le renforcement prévu du marché intérieur européen (avec moins de barrières nationales), en réponse aux blocs de puissance que sont la Chine, les États-Unis, l’Inde et la Russie, dynamisera nos entreprises. L’innovation, la numérisation et l’automatisation feront la force de l’Europe. C’est pourquoi Indumation est si important : grâce au travail des ingénieurs, des techniciens et des scientifiques, notre continent peut retrouver toute sa place.

L’Europe possède de nombreux atouts. Ici, la liberté d’action est totale, sans ingérence gouvernementale significative. Les universités, les centres de recherche et les scientifiques ne sont pas contraints de se conformer. Nous bénéficions de stabilité, de sécurité juridique, de protection de la vie privée et d’indépendance. Mais surtout, l’Europe dispose d’un marché mature avec 450 millions de consommateurs hautement qualifiés. Qui ne voudrait pas faire affaire avec nous ?

The Technological Challenges of the Einstein Telescope: from Cryogenic Sensors to Real-Time Data Processing

The Einstein Telescope will simultaneously detect and process multiple gravitational wave signals in the tens of kilohertz range. In parallel the data of hundreds of sensors needs to be processed. The signals need to be processed in realtime, resulting in processor intensive complex computations. Many sensors operate at cryogenic temperatures and in ultra-high vacuum conditions. Ultra-precise control is needed in the vacuum towers to maintain micrometer-level alignment of mirrors over 10 kilometers apart. The ambitious Einstein Telescope project requires groundbreaking advancements in sensors, data networks, processing hardware, and algorithms. This talk will explore some of the critical challenges the Einstein Telescope faces.

Creating a digital twin of such systems for optimal control is highly resource-intensive and, in practice, often infeasible due to numerous variants, aging components, and production inconsistencies. This challenge is particularly pronounced for older machines with limited sensor data. Atlas Copco encounters similar difficulties with its central controller—a device designed to optimize compressor and air utility networks to minimize energy consumption. The Antwerp distribution center (Airpower Service Center) focuses on the efficient storage and distribution of spare parts for compressor maintenance and repairs, with quality, reliability and speed at its core. Until recently, storage and picking were largely manual, creating challenges in terms of storage density and system capacity. This presentation will show how, within Atlas Copco’s existing distribution center, service quality, storage density and the resulting system capacity have been increased by transforming a manual warehouse into an automated warehouse.
