It’s God who makes the impossible, possible, yet He invites us to partner with him in the unfolding of His purposes on earth.
Jesus used mountains as a picture of the challenges that loom large in our lives. The situations we long to see change, the burdens we carry quietly, the prayers we’re still waiting to see answered. We all face mountains.
When He spoke of mustard‑seed faith, Jesus wasn’t calling us to heroic belief or impressive spiritual strength. He pointed to one of the tiniest seeds in the ancient world to remind us that faith isn’t powerful because of its size, but because of the One it’s placed in.
A mustard seed is so small it can slip through your fingertips, yet it grows into something large, strong, and life giving; in fact, it can grow like wildfire! In the same way, even the simplest prayers whispered when we’re tired, uncertain, or stretched thin, are enough when placed in God’s hands.
Prayer is where mustard‑seed faith begins to grow.
Sometimes God moves the mountain.
Sometimes He strengthens us to climb it.
Sometimes He reshapes the landscape entirely.
But prayer always moves something.
Today, we offer God our mustard‑seed faith and ask Him to move mountains, both in our own lives and on behalf of MAF. May His kingdom come and His will be done here on earth as it is in heaven.

MOZAMBIQUE

WEDNESDAY 1 Give thanks for the Cessna U206G and the Cessna Caravan EX that are serving in Mozambique, and for the lives these aircraft have already impacted. Pray for even more communities to be reached.
THURSDAY 2 Pray for the team in Mozambique as they expect new families to arrive in programme soon. Pray that they settle well and find a strong sense of community within the team.
FRIDAY 3 Pray for MozMed flights that reach remote areas and support people with healthcare needs. Twice a month during dry season, a team of doctor's board an MAF plane and fly north for a two‑day ministry trip serving hundreds of people in various villages. While the doctors treat patients, the MAF pilots occasionally play the Jesus film for the villagers.

SATURDAY 4 Give thanks that MAF pilots Ryan Koher and Dave Holmes were able to open the new airstrip in Mussoma, Mozambique. This airstrip will enable MAF to serve the communities in the Niassa Special Reserve well by flying in doctors to deliver essential healthcare.

RECRUITMENT & THE UK
SUNDAY 5 Praise God for our staff who have recently begun their journey with MAF. Give thanks for answered prayer that has resulted in new pilots, engineers and support staff joining our teams around the world, and for the way God continues to call people to serve through aviation.
MONDAY 6 Pray for the newly launched Mission Aviation Academy, which brings together our training programmes for pilots and engineers under one umbrella. It is hoped that this will create more opportunities for those wanting to serve God through aviation. Ask God to guide this initiative. Pray too for perseverance for those who are part way through the demanding engineering and pilot training process.
TUESDAY 7 Pray for MAF’s desire to grow a network of recruitment volunteers across the UK. Ask God to raise up passionate individuals in different regions who can represent the mission locally. Pray that these volunteers would be encouraged, and able to inspire others to explore serving with MAF.
WEDNESDAY 8 Pray for the launch and development of the Pilot Progression Pathway. Ask God to guide this new initiative as we seek to engage midcareer pilots, particularly those with PPL (Private Pilot License) or beyond, and inspire them to consider mission aviation.
THURSDAY 9 Pray for ongoing conversations with a select airfield/training operator in the UK that MAF is collaborating with. Pray that this would open doors for us to train pilots here in the UK, in addition to our training centres in Australia and the Netherlands.
FRIDAY 10 Give thanks for opportunities to connect with new audiences through events such as Focus (HTB Church)

SATURDAY 11 Pray for the urgent need for facilities and operations management staff to serve overseas. Ask God to call and equip the right individuals from the UK with the skills and willingness to step into these vital, behind-the-scenes roles.

LIBERIA

SUNDAY 12 This year, we have delivered two ‘motorbike ambulances’ to Foya in Lofa County. These special trailers attach to motorbikes and allow pregnant women to get to the hospital safely lying down, so they are not hurt by the rough roads. Praise God for this provision and the blessing they are to the rural communities. You can read more about this story on page 10 of Flying for Life.
MONDAY 13 Please pray for Dr John Juedes, who flies with MAF three times a year to run leadership courses for churches in remote areas. We turn a nine-hour journey into an easy hour-long flight, and John can make the most of travelling by air to bring in much needed resources. Pray for good understanding for all those who attend John’s courses.
TUESDAY 14 It is currently the rainy season in Liberia, and many roads become impassable, meaning our flights become essential. Pray for our pilots as they assess airstrips for safe take-offs and landings.
WEDNESDAY 15 Sanniquellie is our newest airstrip, located in the northeast of Liberia, in one of the most populated counties. Praise God that we can reach people in that area, and pray that our flights
will be a help, and a witness to those we meet.
THURSDAY 16 Uphold Ed and Kathy Burrows in your prayers today. Ed is a pilot and Kathy is Visitor Co-ordinator and part of the communications team. Pray for their children, Nate and Eliana, who are enjoying their new school.
FRIDAY 17 The school year in Liberia runs similarly to that of the UK, so today please pray for the teachers in the schools that the MAF children attend, that they will have a good end to the
year, a restful summer and be refreshed and fulfilled, ready to teach again in September.
SATURDAY 18 Please pray for the vital work of dentists from Monrovia Dental School. We often fly them to remote areas of Liberia to run clinics where people can receive checkups and help to which they would not normally have access.

SOUTH SUDAN

SUNDAY 19 Praise God for the MAF team in South Sudan which is made up of 60 staff. Pray for wisdom and discernment for those in leadership positions, particularly for Country Director David Bebb, as he considers how best to respond to the humanitarian challenges facing the country.
MONDAY 20 Please continue to pray for the recruitment of teachers to Juba Christian Academy in South Sudan. There is a real need for breakthrough in this area. Teachers make MAF’s mission possible for international families with children to live sustainably on the mission field.
TUESDAY 21 Uphold Jenny Davies who has stepped into a new role as Deputy Partnership Development Manager for the South Sudan programme. Pray for her as she continues to adjust to her new position, and uphold Suzie Anuyat Williams who will step into Jenny's previous role of Communications Officer.
WEDNESDAY 22 Pray for refugees who are fleeing conflict in Sudan and hoping to find safety in South Sudan. Please pray that they can escape violence and find shelter, and for food shortages to end.
THURSDAY 23 South Sudan is one of the poorest countries in the world with extremely high levels of poverty. Pray for poverty to be eradicated, that the people of South Sudan would be able to access the things they need and that God would surround them with His love and peace.
FRIDAY 24 Today lift up our pilots, pray for safety in the air and on the ground and strength for the challenges they face. Pray for the relationships they build with the remote communities they fly to.
SATURDAY 25 Pray for new partnership opportunities for MAF in South Sudan that will enable those living in isolated communities to have access to healthcare, education and the Gospel.

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO (DRC)
SUNDAY 26 Praise God for a life-saving hepatitis B vaccine flown to Nyankunde, DRC, for newborn twins. MAF coordinated with the paediatrician to get the cold-chain vaccines to the remote location within 12 hours of birth. Continue to pray for vaccines to reach needed areas as MAF planes fly quarterly to distribute them.
MONDAY 27 Pray for partner organisations in DRC who are training people in remote communities to share the Bible orally. Many people are illiterate, and even if they can read, they don't have access to Bibles.
TUESDAY 28 Praise God for good news from Vanga hospital in Western DRC. Treatment rates for malaria are up by 75% since 2023. This is a result of your generosity. You have provided approximately 3,000 treatment kits which MAF has transported. Pray this good work will continue.
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1 (NIV)
WEDNESDAY 29 Earlier in the year, there was a peace conference held in Nyankunde. Previously, youth in the area had only known and experienced violence but instead they began to learn about the power of Biblical peace. Pray that this conference has sown good seeds and they are able to grow in the hearts of the young people there.
THURSDAY 30 The climate in DRC can be challenging. With its placement in Central Africa, the environment is influenced by its trans-equatorial position, and weather extremes can vary. Pray for MAF families who live in this challenging location, for their safety and endurance in extreme heat, thunderstorms and sometimes even snow. May God strengthen them so they can continue the mission.
FRIDAY 31 With conflict between the M23 armed group and the Congolese army causing thousands of displacements, MAF’s presence is needed even more to provide hope, help and
healing to those affected by the violence. Pray for strengthened partnerships with those who provide trauma training for communities.
SATURDAY 1 Over 90% of DRC’s population is Christian. Today, let’s pray for courage and perseverance of all believers that they may feel encouraged to spread the message of peace, and share the Good News of Jesus Christ to their peers who have not yet found faith.

PAPUA NEW GUINEA (PNG) AND BOUGAINVILLE

SUNDAY 2 Praise God for Pastor Saliki, a long-serving pastor with the Evangelical Church of PNG. He flies with MAF to the remote communities of Western Province to strengthen and encourage isolated churches and people through his teaching. Pray that God would bless all he does.
MONDAY 3 There are several airstrips currently closed to MAF operations in the Enga Province of PNG due to tribal fighting and airstrip conditions. Pray that conflict would stop and they can be reopened, so that MAF can connect the communities with health and other services.
TUESDAY 4 For Jacky Lawa, a community health worker with Enga Baptist Health Services, the fight against HIV isn’t just about medicine: it’s about reaching the isolated pockets of PNG with accurate information about the condition. Pray that Jacky’s HIV education will go far and wide.
WEDNESDAY 5 After years of relying on a tiny deteriorating health centre, the remote Yambaitok community is set to open its newly built facility, bringing renewed healthcare access to locals and surrounding tribes. MAF flew in all the resources needed to build it. Please pray this new health centre, which also includes a labour ward, will save lives!
THURSDAY 6 We are thankful for health worker Patrick Dickson who has faithfully served the people of Yambaitok for over nine years with few
resources available to him. Give thanks for his dedication and pray that God would call more medical professionals to serve in isolated places.
FRIDAY 7 Having served previously in programme as an Executive Assistant, Ricky Poki has now returned to MAF as a fully trained pilot. Pray for Ricky that as a young Papua New Guinean MAF pilot he will inspire the next generation to dream big and work hard.
SATURDAY 8 PNG is MAF’s biggest and busiest programme and so today we lift up Country Director Dominic Sant and his family. Pray for wisdom over all the decisions that must be made daily and that all operational staff would be equipped with everything they need.

SUNDAY 9 Please uphold workers like Marino, Chelsea and the aerial health patrol teams serving remote communities. Pray the Lord will bless their compassion, protect their travels, and multiply the impact of each clinic. Pray that through MAF flights, isolated families continue to receive vital care and the hope found in Christ’s love.
MONDAY 10 Please pray for the PNG programme who currently have vacancies for experienced pilots, engineers and teachers for the Highlands Christian Grammar School where many MAF staff children are educated.
TUESDAY 11 Give thanks for MAF’s faithful ministry in Telefomin, bringing pastors, missionaries, and the hope of the Gospel to those far beyond the reach of roads. Bless families like Mama Koms’, who have relied on MAF flights for generations to carry the Gospel to the remotest locations of PNG and have witnessed first-hand how a flight can mean the difference between life and death.
WEDNESDAY 12 The journey on foot from Kompiam to Yambaitok takes four to five days. An MAF flight from Kompiam to Yambaitok takes only 19 minutes! Give thanks that MAF is having such a profound impact in these communities, connecting them to health, services, and so much more.
THURSDAY 13 Give thanks for partnerships with local churches distributing audio Bibles in Bougainville. Pray that God’s Word, heard in heart languages, brings comfort, unity and spiritual renewal.
FRIDAY 14 Lift up the rollout of high-frequency radio systems
in isolated villages across Bougainville. Pray these radios enable rapid medical advice and life-saving communication. Ask God to strengthen the lone nurses and health workers who rely on these tools, that they may serve confidently, be well supported and no longer cut off in emergencies.
SATURDAY 15 Pray for remote Bougainville communities receiving solar power systems. Ask God to bless the installation teams and local trainees, so health clinics can offer safe care after dark. Pray that lighting and power will bring hope, healing and new possibilities for mothers, children and vulnerable families who have not had access to reliable healthcare.

NATHANAEL AND JO SMITH
Please spend this week lifting up the Smith family (Since this interview took place, the Smiths have now arrived in Madagascar).
How are you feeling about the move to Madagascar?
We are very excited. It has been five years since Nathanael started the engineering training scheme to become licenced to fix MAF aeroplanes, so he is very keen to see them in programme and start working on them! We, too, are excited as a family to be part of the team and getting to know them. We are grateful to the MAF office teams in the UK and Madagascar for enabling the logistics of us getting there.
Have you always had a heart for overseas mission?
Nathanael grew up as a mission kid, so he saw the value of overseas mission and aviation first hand. He actually flew to boarding school and did a gap year with a mission aviation department. I (Jo) spent some time doing kids and youth work in Peru and really enjoyed my time there and loved seeing God at work in distant places.
How were you led to begin serving with MAF?
Nathanael was trying to get his licence to be able to serve in mission aviation, but it is a complex process, so the start of the Engineer Training Scheme was timely in enabling him to get the experience he needed.
What do you love about MAF’s mission?
We love that it demonstrates how God uses people with all different skills to work together to share his love.
What are your prayer needs as you move to Madagascar?
Pray that we build relationships quickly and we learn the language, so we can serve more effectively. Pray that my (Jo) calling in Madagascar also unfolds as we settle in. We are excited to learn more about how big and great our God is as we learn to trust Him more each day and see others around us serving Him.

SUNDAY 23 Praise God that the new Cessna Caravan is fully operational and is equipped and certified to conduct medical evacuations. The new hangar is also complete, providing the team with great facilities to ensure they can operate safely and sustainably.
MONDAY 24 With long walks and empty stomachs, many students in the south of Madagascar struggle to stay in school. Convoy of Hope is helping change that story and MAF flights are multiplying their effectiveness. Pray that through this partnership, we can continue to provide more school canteens with food so that more children can receive a nourishing meal daily.
TUESDAY 25 Madagascar remains one of the poorest countries in the world; this reality shapes the daily context in which MAF’s ministry operates. Around 75% of the population lives below the international poverty line of $2.15 per day. Pray for the people of Madagascar, for the government and that we would see significant economic progress in the years to come.
WEDNESDAY 26 Since December 2025, MAF has partnered with Mobile Hilfe Madagascar, flying their team to a remote location,

Ambatomainty, in the west of the island. Their mission is to train local medical personnel in urgent medicine. This location often requests medical evacuations but with the right care on the ground, evacuation numbers could be reduced. Please pray for the continued success of this partnership and continued funding to increase their impact.
THURSDAY 27 Please pray for the new Country Director Andry Rajaobelison who has taken up the role in recent months. Pray for the whole team as they say goodbye to some longstanding staff members and welcome new ones.
FRIDAY 28 Our partnership with Hoveraid continues to be a vital lifeline for many, providing general medicine, dentistry, ophthalmology and surgery. Pray for more doctors to volunteer to serve these clinics so they can bring care to more people.
SATURDAY 29 Faithful men and women fly with us regularly to remote locations to preach, teach, plant churches, and share the Gospel. Whilst MAF provides these flights at no cost, many of these Christian workers face real financial hardship. Pray that God would raise up supporters and provide the financial resources they need to sustain this vital work.

AUGUST/SEPTEMBER
TIMOR-LESTE
SUNDAY 30 Praise God for our partnership with Timor-Leste’s national ambulance service, to strengthen patient care through training. MAF staff provide instruction for the ambulance teams on the equipment used during medevac flights, such as oxygen, scoop stretchers and patient harnesses. The ambulance team provide first aid training for MAF staff. We are excited that this training will benefit the patients in our care.
MONDAY 31 Please uphold Country Director Ping Domtta and his wife Mary in your prayers today. Ping leads the team of three international staff and six national staff, as well as flying our aircraft.
TUESDAY 1 Please pray for our vital medevac flights. Timor-Leste has very few roads and many of those are just dirt, not tarmac. Our aircraft can turn an eight-hour ordeal into a 30-minute flight! Please pray for our pilots as they provide this amazing service to those in need.
WEDNESDAY 2 Please uphold the staff of Dili and Suai hospitals. They undertake amazing work in tough conditions. Our team works closely with them, making sure that patients can get to them safely and quickly.
THURSDAY 3 Care International has been supporting education in Timor-Leste since 1994. Our flights enable their staff and resources to reach remote villages. Please pray for health and stamina for their staff so they can continue their wonderful work.
FRIDAY 4 Please pray for our regular flights to Atauro Island. MAF aircraft reduces a threehour boat crossing to just fifteen minutes. Our passengers are a mix of medevac patients, missionaries and aid workers, who often tell us how much they appreciate the flights.
SATURDAY 5 September is one of the hottest, driest months in Timor-Leste. Please pray for our mechanics, ground crew and pilots, working in hot and dusty conditions.

SUNDAY 6 Praise God for all the roles within MAF, each one important and vital to the smooth functioning of our work. Today we ask you to pray for those in less obvious roles. They are often behind the scenes but are pivotal to the safe running of our programmes. They don't often see the spotlight, but they are appreciated!
MONDAY 7 Please pray for Tim Dingwall who is on our Engineer Training Scheme. He is now in the process of completing the practical element of his training after undertaking two years of theory study
TUESDAY 8 Today pray for the Wall family who are based in Telefomin, PNG. Richard is a pilot and Christine homeschools their two children. Pray that God would give them such joy and peace as they serve in this remote community.
WEDNESDAY 9 Please uphold Steve Forsyth who has now moved into the role of Director of Flight Operations in Uganda. Pray that God would grant him discernment and wisdom in his decision-making.
THURSDAY 10 Today please uphold the Draper family who are serving in Uganda, where Mark is a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. Pray for Mark as he goes about his day ensuring that our aircraft are kept to our high standards.
FRIDAY 11 Please pray for Becki and Matt Dillingham in Tanzania as we give thanks for the latest addition to their family in baby Tamsin; a sister for Bethany and Luke. Pray for the family as they adjust, and for the programme, particularly the medical safaris.
SATURDAY 12 Another vital and less visible role in MAF is that of IT Manager. Nevin Urey serves in this capacity from Arnhem Land, Australia. Pray for him and his team as they seek to protect and develop our computer systems in a complex and rapidly developing aviation sector.
CHAD
Keep alert, stand firm in your faith, be courageous, be strong. 1 Corinthians 16:13 (NRSV)
SUNDAY 13 Praise God for the many church and missionary partnerships MAF currently flies. There are many opportunities for the Gospel in Chad. Pray for open hearts in a country that is predominantly Muslim.
MONDAY 14 Pray for Theophile Batein, a national staff member who is currently doing his maintenance licence training in Ethiopia. Pray success over all his endeavours.
TUESDAY 15 At the point of writing, Chad has five open vacancies which includes a Pilot, an Engineer and an Operations Manager. We pray for the right candidates to be found who have a passion to see God move in Chad.
WEDNESDAY 16 Much of the current staff compound in Chad is in need of renewal. Please pray for funding to be found to achieve this so that our staff can serve well, knowing that their dwellings can continue to be a place of replenishment and safety.
THURSDAY 17 As of June 2025, the Chadian government suspended the issue of all visas for US citizens in a reciprocal move following the US inclusion of Chad in a list of countries with restricted travel to the United States. Many American missionaries cannot enter Chad. Please pray for a diplomatic resolution to this situation.
FRIDAY 18 Pray for Country Director Esmara and the team she leads, pray for wisdom as they look to recertify their AOC and AMO paperwork (documents needed for flying and maintenance). Pray these would be smooth processes and would build on the good relationship with the aviation authorities.
SATURDAY 19 Pray for the refugees in the east of Chad who are crossing the border from Sudan. Pray that MAF can find ways to fly humanitarian aid to this area.

SUNDAY 20 Praise God that when flooding makes roads impassable, MAF flights make it possible for teachers in places like Arnhem Land to arrive safely at their destinations and enable school children to receive an education without disruption.
MONDAY 21 Please pray for the new families who have joined the Arnhem Land programme this year — the Lindsey family from Queensland and the Albert family from Western Australia. Uphold the Lademann family from Germany who will be arriving in October. Pray for smooth transitions and for each family to settle well into life in Arnhem Land.
TUESDAY 22 Pray for the Yolŋu people to be hungry for God’s word and the willingness of homeland members to welcome more Bible resources. Pray for guidance around planning Gospel outreaches to different communities and homelands.
WEDNESDAY 23 Give thanks for the faithful service of long-serving staff member, David Lamboa. We thank God for David, an engineer originally from PNG, who has served with MAF for more than 30 years (over 16 years in Arnhem Land). Pray that he would be deeply encouraged as he reflects on God’s faithfulness through many years of service.
THURSDAY 24 MAF flies a team from Layna Health once a week into the Laynhapuy homelands to deliver essential healthcare clinics. Give thanks that these flights enable medical professionals to save travel time thus spending more time treating sick people in the community.
FRIDAY 25 Pray for children who are flown from the homelands to Gove, where they attend a

boarding school. They have started attending MAF staff members’ local church, pray they will come to know Jesus.
SATURDAY 26 Today please pray for staff stepping into new areas of ministry. Lift up Imogen Caudell as she leaves Arnhem Land to serve in PNG. Ask the Lord to guide her, strengthen her, and use her richly in this next season of service.
SUNDAY 27 Please pray for strength, encouragement, and wisdom for all staff members, especially as we move into the hotter ‘build-up’ months when conditions become especially oppressive with heat and humidity. Pray that, in every challenge, they would remain united as one body in Christ, serving one another well and serving the people of Arnhem Land with love, excellence, and endurance.
MONDAY 28 Please pray for the programme’s housing and infrastructure, much of which is old and in need of repair and upgrading. Ask God to provide the right resources, skilled people, and steady progress so that homes and facilities can better support staff, families, and the ministry long-term.
TUESDAY 29 Pray for wisdom, discernment, and steadfast faith for those in leadership roles in our Arnhem Land programme. Ask the Lord to guide decisions, strengthen relationships, and help leaders to serve with humility, clarity, and courage.
WEDNESDAY 30 Please pray for new initiatives that will increase MAF’s impact in remote communities across Arnhem Land. Ask God to open the right doors, provide the right partnerships, and lead us into opportunities that will bring practical help, deeper connection, and lasting Gospel-centred impact.
