Century Furniture, Hancock & Moore, Hickory Chair, Highland House, Jessica Charles, Maitland-Smith, Cabot Wrenn

Century Furniture is one of the world's largest privately owned manufacturers of upper-end residential furniture. Its broad line of wood and upholstered furniture consists of bedroom, dining and occasional collections in traditional, transitional and contemporary styling. Century is recognized in the industry as a design leader, ranked in the forefront for its expertise in finishing and the many details of fine craftsmanship. They have licensed collections with numerous high-end designers including Thomas O’Brien, Charlotte Moss, Windsor Smith, Jesse Carrier and Mara Miller.
Century has an extensive wood products facility with state-of-the-art woodworking capabilities and a sophisticated finishing operation, as well as three upholstery factories – all located in Hickory, North Carolina. With more than 75 years of stable growth, an experienced and aggressive management team and considerable investment in new technology, Century is meeting the challenges of the 21st century.

Nestled in the foothills of North Carolina, Hancock & Moore practices the time-honored tradition of building upholstery furniture. Consisting of two manufacturing plants with close to 400 employees, Hancock & Moore artisans spend 50 weeks a year building furniture in a family-like environment. Known to house the broadest leather inventory in the industry, Hancock & Moore believes that the distinction in fine furniture is all in the details.
Researching trends from the fashion industry, Hancock & Moore incorporates details such as quilting, branding, painting, finishing and lacing into our designs. All products are hand made and built to order - no two pieces will be exactly alike. To this day, up to 80 hours are spent handcrafting a piece of Hancock & Moore furniture. Every sofa, chair and ottoman bears the signature of the artisan who created it, reflecting the hard day’s work that went into its construction. To Hancock & Moore, custom-made furniture is the purest form of self-expression. That is why we have spent the past 45 years creating furniture exactly as you envisioned, making it truly as unique as you are.

In 1911, the Hickory Chair Furniture Company was established in Hickory, North Carolina with a single product and a simple vision. The product was a made-to-order dining chair. The vision was to combine the authenticity of classic craftsmanship with the efficiency of modern manufacturing. In the decades since, our product range has evolved into an assortment of timeless designs, drawn from significant periods and places, and from the talents of some of the world’s most respected designers.
Our original vision, however, remains unchanged. Our company is still guided by a genuine commitment to custom craftsmanship and timely service. Our style is still distinguished by an authentic, timeless spirit. And our furniture is still made to order and made to last, by a team of talented and attentive artisans. We are proud that almost 90% of our furnishings are made in our Hickory, North Carolina workroom.

For more than 50 years, Highland House has been devoted to making high-end furniture of impeccable quality in our North Carolina factories. Our pieces start with the proportions of a sketch and we couple that with refined materials to make furniture that is thoughtfully scaled for today’s rooms, solidly constructed using old world techniques, and tastefully tailored in an array of beautiful textiles, leathers, and trims sourced from all over the world.
Timeless, sophisticated, and decidedly modern, Highland House is dedicated to being a custom house for the best interior designers and boutique retailers in the world.

Located in High Point, NC, Jessica Charles is an accent chair company specializing in upholstered fabric seating. Every Jessica Charles chair has a unique story. Our love for all things fashionable and our commitment to creating comforable homes extends throughout every step of design and production. Our North Carolina craftsmen hand-make every piece, utilizing time-tested, artisan construction techniques, from eight-way hand-tied coils to hand-cut-and-sewn patterns. Our cushions are custom fitted and our skirts are precisely cut, lined and mitered for a perfect drape every time.

For over four decades, Maitland-Smith has been creating exquisite and unique decorative accessories, lighting, elegant mirrors and accent furniture. Founded by a London antiques dealer with the eye of a connoisseur, Maitland-Smith has carried on a tradition of creating stunning accents of the highest quality.
From the beginning, our many workrooms have been artisan based and employ time-honored techniques developed before the machine age.
Many of these skills date back to the world’s earliest civilizations and are associated with fine quality furniture and decorative arts. We are wellknown for many hand-crafted specialties, including hand-carved mahogany, inlaid exotic wood veneers, lost wax cast metal, decorative objects, and hand-tooled leather wood products. We draw inspiration from great works from the 18th to 21st centuries and in collaboration with design partners Corey Damen Jenkins, Celerie Kemble, Susan Hable, Tony Duquette Studios, and the meticulously designed and traditionally crafted Scarborough House line.
