Introduction

Leau Skin

Leau Skin is an affordable skincare brand catered to young women. They pride themselves on using simple ingredients that is safe for all skin types while making skincare fun. They utilize bright, fun packaging to match the personality of their target market. The less serious, more approachable packaging captures the message of skincare for all in a way that makes skincare an exciting step in an everyday routine. As the beauty market shifts to a more skincare driven consumer base the need for interesting, eye catching packaging that resonates with customers is important.

Target Market

Leau’s main focus is creating a inclusive environment for all skincare lovers. They mainly focus however on preteen to teenage girls who are just starting to incorporate skincare into their everyday routine. Products are made for sensitive skin and do not include any harmful ingredients to young skin such as retnol. These young girls enjoy expressing themselves through their style with bold statements. The brand is at an affordable rate making it a great first introduction to skincare.

Research

Bubble

Bubble is fairly new to the industry. Their products are fragrance free, cruelty free, affordable and marketed towards young, acne prone skin. The brand utilizes a wide color range on all of their packaging designs and doesn’t usually stick to a set color scheme.

Glow Recipe

Glow Recipe promotes clean and effective ingredients. They also pledge to never use harmful language that set unrealistic beauty standards. The products are lightly scented usually with fruit scents. Their packaging is simple with a set color scheme. Fruit imagery is used often to convey the product.

Byoma

Byoma was created in 2020 with the intention of using ingredients that are clean and do not strip the skin. It is made for all skin types including sensitive skin and is sold at an affordable rate. Their packaging also uses a wide range of colors with a simple use of text.

Ideation

To attract the target market of a younger audience, Leau’s look is fun, approachable, and most importantly gentle and safe. With the use of not only bright colors, but interesting abstract art, the packaging is eye catching creating an exciting step in an everyday routine. The brand wants to encourage young people to express themselves and be confident in their own skin. This packaging will promote that message in a strong manner. The colors scheme is bright and fun while still feeling mature and natural. The stripes add movement and unite all sides of the packaging.
