This report was developed within a unit focused on the capabilities and core competencies of contemporary urban planning practice. The work explores the professional abilities, conduct and values expected of planners, and reflects on what it means to operate ethically and effectively in complex urban contexts. Throughout the unit, we engaged with the communication, analytical and collaborative skills needed to shape more inclusive, resilient and well-considered places. This publication brings together those learnings, demonstrating how thoughtful, values-driven practice underpins quality urban planning.
