Can the future of Footscray CBD be reimagined, not from scratch but by building on what already makes it one of Melbourne’s most vibrant and culturally diverse places?
Built around five core planning principles and three catalyst projects, this project is centred on a masterplan transforms fragmented spaces into a thriving civic centre where people, place and culture come together.
This work was produced as part of Planning Project 1: ‘Curating a More Liveable City’ which introduces first year Master of Urban Planning & Design students to working in teams in a studio environment to solve complex, place-based challenges. This subject was led by Katherine Sundermann in partnership with City of Maribyrnong.
