Giving Together Four-Pager

Page 1

Building on the Maclellan Foundation’s 150-year legacy, Giving Together is mobilizing generosity in locations worldwide.

Our goal is to see local strategies to grow the local church, funded and prayed for locally. Too often, ministries around the world are overly dependent on outside resources, resulting in unsustainable Kingdom impact and growth.

Giving Together gatherings unite Christian donors to advance God’s Kingdom in their localities by inspiring generosity, connecting communities, and mobilizing funds for mission-focused ministries.

WHAT IS GIVING TOGETHER?

Giving Together brings together Christian donors to advance God’s Kingdom through collaborative giving. Each event is hosted by a local donor who is passionate about mobilizing generosity for the Kingdom.

Seldom see so much joy in one place. Indeed, one is most happy when one is in alignment with the Lord, especially when giving to the Kingdom’s work.

Attendees nominate ministries in advance, with four selected to present during each event. Giving on the evening is directed toward these ministries and amplified by a matching fund provided by the Maclellan Foundation and other families. Each gathering is a space where people come together to give prayerfully, generously and relationally, mobilizing resources for lasting Kingdom impact.

One of the great joys of Giving Together is seeing how collective generosity not only multiplies impact, but also deepens connection and shared purpose among those involved. Beyond local funding, participating ministries gain access to new relational networks, encouragement, and prayer support.

HEART TRANSFORMATION

Giving Together events profoundly impact the hearts of those attending, as they not only join others in giving but are also taken on a journey of discipleship in generosity. With a breadth of giving levels, Giving Together powerfully engages new and established donors in building community and ultimately responding collaboratively to make a difference.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the role of the local host?

Every Giving Together event is hosted by a local Christian donor—someone with a heart for generosity, the capacity to give, and strong relational networks. The host plays a key role in the success of the gathering, inviting their networks and mobilizing others through their passion for Kingdom impact.

How are ministries nominated and selected?

As each person registers for a Giving Together event, they are invited to nominate a local Christian nonprofit ministry that is doing excellent work for the Kingdom and fits within our nomination criteria. From these nominations, four are prayerfully selected by the local host, in partnership with the Maclellan Foundation, to present on the evening.

Is there a minimum giving commitment?

Those attending a Giving Together are required to make a minimum pledge, which can be directed to any one or more of the four ministries presenting. This collective giving directly catalyzes the event’s local impact.

Who funds the event?

The Maclellan Foundation and other families underwrite all event costs, and provide a match fund and small nomination grants. Local donors can partner with us in match funding each event, enabling entirely local giving for sustainable Kingdom growth.

How does the match fund work?

The match fund is a powerful catalyst to stimulate local giving and is always exceeded. Funds are distributed proportionally based on the total amount pledged to each ministry by attendees. Eligible nominated ministries not selected to present on the evening also receive a small grant.

Generosity changes us, changes the people we work with, heals God’s world.
