Each jar encapsulates DECADES of expertise

THE STORY OF MRS BRIDGES

Mrs Bridges began her life in service as an under-cook to respected families in the English countryside during the Victorian era. From these early kitchens, she developed a deep love of cooking, carefully collecting recipes that ranged from simple country dishes to refined meals inspired by French cuisine.

Kate Bridges later earned the honorary title of ‘Mrs’ Bridges when she became Cook to Lady and Richard Bellamy, prominent Edwardian socialites. Her cooking graced both lavish banquets and intimate suppers “below the stairs”, reflecting her remarkable skill and versatility.

Encouraged by her employer and inspired by the works of Mrs Beeton, Mrs Bridges compiled her culinary knowledge into Practical Household Cookery, published in 1905. Her legacy was later immortalised in the much-loved television series Upstairs, Downstairs, where Mrs Bridges ruled the downstairs kitchen producing preserves, marmalades and condiments of exceptional quality.

Today, Mrs Bridges continues to honour this rich heritage. Since 1967, the brand has been dedicated to crafting premium preserves, marmalades, curds and condiments using traditional methods and the finest ingredients – from Scottish raspberries to vibrant Seville citrus.

Every jar reflects a commitment to authenticity, flavour and indulgence, ensuring Mrs Bridges remains a cherished name, bringing timeless taste and a sense of occasion to tables and gift-giving moments everywhere.

MARMALADES

Based in the Dundee area, the home of marmlade, we are proud to be the custodians of a world-renowned icon. The secret to Mrs Bridges award winning marmalades is that we source all our bitter oranges from Seville, Spain. Mrs Bridges dedication to making marmalades the traditional way ensures a homemade taste.

PRESERVES

At the heart of our taste are the soft fruits from the east coast of Scotland which we use in every jar of our strawberry, raspberry and blackcurrant jam. The Scottish termperate climate allows crops to be grown for longer, resulting in a deeper flavour.

CURDS

Mrs Bridges curds are perfectly smooth, deliciously creamy and are wonderful spread over toast or a great addition to home baking as a filling for cakes or tartlets.

LIQUEURS

Mrs Bridges liqueur preserves and marmalades are infused with a splash of fine liqueur for a rich, sophisticated flavour. Perfect for elevating toast, desserts, or cheese boards with a touch of classic craftmanship
