Macmillan celebrates learning, connection & the power of stories
World Read Aloud Day (WRAD) 2026 was a heart-warming celebration of stories, voice, and community. Under the theme “Celebrate Learning”, Macmillan brought educators, families, staff and young readers together through meaningful and joyful activities across the country.
Our Free Online Webinar
We kicked off the day with a free online webinar attended by over 200 participants. Teachers, parents and literacy lovers joined us for an inspiring session packed with practical read aloud strategies and uplifting insights.
Tongue Twister Challenge
Our internal Tongue Twister Challenge added a fun, memorable touch to the day. Staff across departments participated enthusiastically.

Western Cape Hospital Activation
One of the most touching highlights came from our Western Cape Sales Team, who visited St Joseph’s Intermediate Paediatric Care Hospital for Children. They spent time reading stories to young patients, bringing comfort, connection and moments of joy through the power of storytelling.

As the academic year progresses, we would like to inform you of an important update regarding Marshall Cavendish Education’s My Pals Are Here! series.
The 3rd Edition (Levels 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B, 3A, and 3B) will be phased out and go out of print at the end of 2026, paving the way for the release of the enhanced 4th Edition.
The 4th Edition retains the well-loved strengths of the 3rd Edition, including the CPA (Concrete–Pictorial–Abstract) approach and a strong emphasis on 21st-century competencies. It has been thoughtfully updated to better support contemporary teaching and learning practices.
To assist schools and parents during this transition, we will be hosting a webinar with a subject expert on 24 March. Please look out for further details on our social media platforms.
