Head of Sale, Cathy Tait, is delighted to present our first Books & Manuscripts auction of 2025, taking place on Wednesday 05 February in our historic saleroom in Edinburgh and online.
Manuscript and archive material lead the way in the sale, with a signed letter by Mary I of England (Mary Tudor), the First World War poetry and diary archive of Hamish Mann, a fascinating English Civil War medical text and an account of a voyage undertaken by the East India Company ship the “Swift”, a journey instrumental in the treatment and prevention of scurvy.
Further highlights of the sale include an intriguing collection of detective and adventure novels from the golden age of mystery fiction, a near-complete collection of the output of the T.N. Foulis Press and an extremely rare 1915 copy of the Persian Gulf Pilot.
