Semi Pedestal Basin
Semi Pedestal Basins are wall hung basins secured to a supporting wall. They conceal pipework that returns through the wall with a semi pedestal that does not reach the floor. These basins provide your bathroom with more floor space.
Full Pedestal Basin
Full pedestal basins are wall mounted basins attached to a supporting wall. The floor mounted pedestal conceals the pipework, creating a seamless and cohesive look for your space.
Semi Recessed Basin
A semi-recessed basin are partially embedded into a countertop or vanity unit. The front of the basin protrudes outward, while the rear part is recessed into the countertop. This optimizes countertop space, making them suitable for smaller bathrooms or compact layouts.
Close Coupled – Open Back
A Closed Coupled Open Back style WC has the pan and cistern closely coupled together with the necessary clearance space for your waste pipe. This provides more flexibility for your pipework and can be easily accommodated within most bathrooms.
Close Coupled – Fully Shrouded
A Closed Coupled Fully Shrouded toilet has the pan and cistern closely coupled together. In this design, the pan is seen to meet with your wall. This allows you to conceal your bathroom pipework.
Countertop Basin
Countertop Basins positioned on top of a countertop unit or shelf are best paired with a tall basin tap, or wall mounted tap. The SONAS range of countertop basins are available in a variety of colours, shapes and sizes.
Back To Wall
Back To Wall toilets are a great space saving technique. The main difference between this style and the Closed Coupled toilet is that the cistern is concealed behind your bathroom wall, or placed in a furniture WC unit.
Wall Hung
Wall hung toilets are installed by mounting them on the wall, resulting in a more spacious bathroom layout. To install them, a sturdy fast fix frame is placed behind the wall, which can support up to 400kg of weight. The flushing mechanisms of these toilets can be conveniently accessed through a push plate.

Tap Features
Cold Start Technology
Cold start basin mixers promote the use of cold water in daily activities that don’t require hot water, reducing carbon emissions associated with water heating and preventing wastage. Only cold water is delivered when the lever is in the centre position.
Operating Pressure
Taps with a minimum operating pressure of 0.2 bar will operate without the need of a booster pump. They only require a 2 metre vertical distance between the water source (water storage tank) and the tap outlet. Taps with a minimum operating pressure of 0.5 bar and above require a booster pump that increases water pressure and flow.
Temperature Limiter
Before purchasing taps and showers always ensure your site conditions meet the minimum operating pressure requirements. Please consult your plumber.
Basin mixers fitted with this feature can be preset (installation optional) to limit the maximum temperature in selectable stops. This will help save energy and protect vulnerable users especially in environments where hot water can reach dangerously high temperatures.

DELTA Ratings (ΔT)
A Delta rating on radiators, often referred to as the Delta T value, measures the temperature difference between the radiator’s average surface temperature and the room temperature. This helps select a radiator with adequate heat output to heat a room efficiently. Delta T50 is the European Standard, and assumes a flow temperature of 75°C, a return temperature of 65°C, and a room temperature of 20°C. This reflects the typical operating conditions in many central heating systems. Delta T30 or Lower (For Low-Temperature Systems) is used for systems like underfloor heating or heat pumps, which operate at lower flow temperatures.
BTU (British Thermal Unit)
is the measurement used to calculate how much heat output is needed to warm a room. Ensuring that your radiators and towel warmers are appropriately sized is critical for efficient operation. Equipment with too high or too low BTU ratings can lead to inefficiency, higher energy costs, and reduced comfort. Displaying the BTU values at different temperature differentials helps installers accurately size and select heating products based on the specific requirements of both high and low-temperature heating systems.
