ADAARAN SELECT MEEDHUPPARU: INTEGRATING CONTEMPORARY HOSPITALITY

AND SUSTAINABILITY

ADAARAN SELECT MEEDHUPPARU IS RECOGNIZED AS ONE OF THE TOP 100 SUSTAINABLE HOTELS & RESORTS OF THE WORLD 2025 BY THE LUXURY LIFESTYLE AWARDS. SPANNING A VERDANT MALDIVIAN ISLAND, THE RESORT COMBINES A PREMIUM ALLINCLUSIVE HOSPITALITY MODEL WITH ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP, OFFERING GUESTS AN IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE THAT BALANCES LEISURE WITH A STRONG CONNECTION TO NATURE.

Thoughtful Design and Guest Experience

The resort is designed to harmonize with its surroundings, featuring one of the Maldives’ best house reefs. Guests are invited to explore vibrant coral gardens or simply unwind under the shade of towering banyan trees on this mature island. Every aspect of the property emphasizes a low-impact, eco-conscious approach while maintaining comfort and sophistication.

Sustainability in Practice

Adaaran Select Meedhupparu has implemented measurable environmental initiatives, demonstrating leadership in sustainable operations. Water intensity per guest night has decreased by 6.8% through demand-based pressure control and continuous monitoring, while energy intensity has been reduced by 2.12% via inverter AC systems, LED retrofits, motion-sensor lighting, and solar walkway illumination. Organic waste is converted into 32,719 kg of soil enhancers, and nearly 395,000 single-use plastic bottles have been replaced with in-house glass alternatives. Local sourcing is prioritized, including over 40,000 kg of fish and 83,000 kg of fruits and vegetables, complemented by on-island food production of vegetables and coconuts.

Biodiversity and Education

A core differentiator is the resort’s “Painting the Canvas of Conservation” initiative. Launched in January 2025, this program translates on-island

biodiversity surveys into the interactive picture and activity book, The Colors of Our Islands. Guests, students, and staff engage with local species profiles, conservation pledges, and reef-safe practices, promoting eco-literacy and behavior change. Through this initiative, sustainability becomes both educational and tangible, reinforcing the resort’s holistic environmental strategy.

Certifications and Governance

Operations align with global standards, including Green Globe Standard 1.7, HACCP, ISO 22000:2018, and the UNWTO Responsible Tourism Code of Ethics. Continuous training and sustainability education programs ensure that associates and guests are active participants in conservation, reinforcing the resort’s position as a model of responsible tourism.

Strategic Vision for Sustainable Hospitality

The resort’s sustainability framework is guided by a comprehensive management plan that sets measurable goals for water, energy, waste, and biodiversity. Leadership at the corporate and property levels coordinates innovative green technologies and operational practices, addressing challenges such as limited renewable energy options in the Maldives and high investment costs. Future initiatives aim to expand these sustainability measures and explore new approaches to environmentally conscious hospitality.

Adaaran Select Meedhupparu’s recognition in the TOP 100 Sustainable Hotels & Resorts of the World 2025 underscores the resort’s dedication to integrating contemporary hospitality with responsible environmental stewardship.

Sustainability with Measurable Intention

The hotel’s sustainability initiative, launched on 14 June 2023, revolves around three central focus areas: achieving eco-hotel certification, advancing responsible consumption and production across its operations, and building collaborations with charitable organisations that benefit from its environmental projects. WHERE SUSTAINABILITY MEETS SOPHISTICATION: CROWNE PLAZA CHANGI AIRPORT

CROWNE PLAZA CHANGI AIRPORT, RECENTLY RECOGNISED AMONG THE TOP 100 SUSTAINABLE HOTELS & RESORTS OF THE WORLD, CONTINUES TO SHAPE A MORE RESPONSIBLE FUTURE FOR MODERN HOSPITALITY. HONORED BY THE INTERNATIONAL SUSTAINABILITY AWARDS, THE PROPERTY HAS EMERGED AS AN INDUSTRY BENCHMARK FOR ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRESS WHILE DELIVERING A SOPHISTICATED AIRPORT-SIDE EXPERIENCE UNMATCHED IN CONVENIENCE AND CONTEMPORARY STYLE. AS CROWNE PLAZA CHANGI AIRPORT ADVANCES ITS SUSTAINABILITY GOALS, IT REMAINS A FAVORITE AMONG GLOBAL TRAVELLERS SEEKING COMFORT, EFFICIENCY, AND THOUGHTFUL INNOVATION.

A Sustainability Strategy with Measurable Impact

Crowne Plaza Changi Airport’s green philosophy is anchored in the IHG Journey to Tomorrow initiative, which guides all IHG properties in building a responsible hospitality ecosystem. The hotel’s achievement of the IHG Green Engage Level 4 certification highlights its advanced approach, driven by its Environmental Management Committee. Every aspect of its operation reflects a deep-seated drive to reduce waste, energy output, and water use.

A standout initiative is the installation of in-room filtered drinking water systems, replacing traditional plastic water bottles. In a highturnover environment like Changi Airport, this shift dramatically cuts single-use plastic consumption, supporting a projected annual reduction of more than half a million bottles. Complementing this, the hotel has expanded plastic-reducing efforts with bulk-size bathroom amenities, refillable glass bottles in meeting rooms, and biodegradable straws.

The hotel was also an early adopter of the food digester, transforming food waste into greywater. Water-saving aerators, LED lighting, open-air walkways, and natural ventilation further reduce resource use, while the building’s distinctive orchid-inspired 3D lace façade shades interiors and enhances thermal efficiency. Together, these features showcase a property deeply invested in lowering its environmental footprint.

Guest-Focused Innovations for a Greener Stay

Sustainable choices never come at the expense of guest experience. The Greener Stay programme offers IHG One Rewards members the option to opt out of daily housekeeping in exchange for bonus points—promoting water and energy conservation while rewarding environmentally responsible decisions.

Technological innovation is another strength. AI-driven robotic cleaners and service robots assist with routine operations, reducing water and chemical use while giving the hotel team more time to focus on personalised interactions. These advancements reflect a forward-thinking approach that supports both operational efficiency and ecological responsibility.

Community-focused initiatives round out the hotel’s sustainability story. Through the Food From The Heart program, which donates surplus bread and pastries to local beneficiaries, the hotel’s sustainability blueprint extends beyond its walls and into the community, reinforcing a practical, socially conscious approach to responsible hospitality.

Award-Winning Comfort and Unrivalled Convenience

Beyond its environmental accomplishments, Crowne Plaza Changi Airport remains one of Asia’s most sought-after transit hotels. Named the World’s Best Airport Hotel and Best Airport Hotel in Asia for ten consecutive years in the Skytrax Awards, the property caters effortlessly to international travellers looking for comfort and connectivity.

The hotel features 575 stylish guestrooms, including premier rooms with runway views and select rooms overlooking the iconic Jewel. Day-use options offer even greater flexibility for travellers in transit. With direct access to all airport terminals, the MRT, and Jewel’s world-famous attractions, such as the Rain Vortex and Forest Valley, guests enjoy immediate access to Singapore’s most impressive leisure and retail destination.

Sustainability as a Defining Differentiator

What truly sets Grand Copthorne Waterfront apart is its vigorous sustainability program. As part of the hotel’s “Go Green” initiative, the property is certified Gold – Venue & F&B by the Singapore Association of Convention & Exhibition Organisers & Suppliers (SACEOS) under the Singapore MICE Sustainability Certification, and follows guidelines from the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC).

A few of the noteworthy initiatives:

• Smart room controls (thermostats, sensors) that optimise energy usage and achieve energy savings of up to 25 %.

• A linen and towel reuse program that encourages guests to reduce water and energy consumption.

• Sustainable dining with a farm-to-table mindset: the hotel’s restaurants prioritise locally-sourced, organic, and responsiblyharvested ingredients to reduce food miles.

These efforts are particularly relevant in the context of the hotel’s location in Singapore, where the hospitality industry is actively pushing ESG and sustainable tourism frameworks.

AUSTRIA WHERE ART, PURPOSE, AND MODERN TRAVEL CONVERGE: THE STORY OF HOTEL AM KONZERTHAUS MGALLERY VIENNA

HOTEL AM KONZERTHAUS MGALLERY VIENNA CELEBRATES ITS PLACE AMONG THE TOP 100 SUSTAINABLE HOTELS AND RESORTS OF THE WORLD, AN ACHIEVEMENT AWARDED BY THE INTERNATIONAL SUSTAINABILITY AWARDS. THIS RECOGNITION REFLECTS THE PROPERTY’S PURPOSEFUL AND FORWARD-THINKING APPROACH TO HOSPITALITY, WHERE RESPONSIBILITY, CULTURAL APPRECIATION, AND ELEVATED GUEST EXPERIENCES MOVE TOGETHER WITH CLARITY AND INTENTION. HOTEL AM KONZERTHAUS MGALLERY VIENNA HAS BUILT A PHILOSOPHY THAT SHOWS HOW PREMIUM TRAVEL CAN EVOLVE IN MEANINGFUL WAYS WITHOUT COMPROMISING COMFORT OR ATMOSPHERE.

A Distinct Vision for Responsible Luxury

The property sees sustainability not as a feature, but as an operating system. Environmental care, social well-being, and ethical governance are woven throughout every service area, from energy use to community engagement. The hotel removed all single-use plastics across its outlets, strengthened its support for local social-impact organizations, and invested in a diverse, international working environment.

These efforts form the foundation of an approach that demonstrates how elevated hospitality can sit confidently alongside environmentally responsible thinking. Guests are welcomed into spaces shaped by creativity, warm service, and intentional choices designed to reduce impact while heightening overall experience.

Building Momentum: From Renovation to Long-Term Action

Following extensive renovations completed in 2020, the hotel entered a new chapter, one defined by structured, measurable sustainability goals. Investments were directed toward daily operations, energy

performance, and internal processes, culminating in the appointment of a dedicated Sustainability Manager.

By 2023, the hotel implemented formal KPI tracking for energy, water, carbon, and waste, allowing teams to steer improvements strategically rather than intuitively. This data-driven method not only sharpens accountability but also strengthens future planning and transparency.

Forward-Looking Projects Shaping a Greener Urban Future

The hotel’s sustainability agenda extends well beyond the present. Plans include:

• Green façade enhancements: Introducing greenery to the exterior to improve air quality and contribute positively to Vienna’s urban fabric.

• Improved window insulation: Reducing noise intrusion and minimizing heat and cooling loss for higher energy efficiency.

• On-site renewable energy: Exploring photovoltaic panels for the rooftop and external walls in a move toward partial energy independence.

Each concept undergoes SMART evaluation, specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time-bound, with environmental studies scheduled for 2025.

Transparent Metrics That Drive Real Impact

The hotel monitors several measurable impacts:

• Carbon footprint per overnight stay.

• Monthly energy usage and costs

• Monthly water consumption

• Food waste and waste-diversion data

• Social engagement, including partnerships with organizations supporting women, children, and communities facing adversity

• Equality and diversity metrics, with teams built on fairness and authentic representation

These figures set the hotel apart, especially in an industry where formal sustainability reporting remains optional. With its first sustainability report launching in 2025, the property aims to contribute to clearer benchmarking within the hospitality sector.

Innovation Rooted in Integration

What makes the initiative innovative is not one singular technology, but the cohesive way existing systems are brought together; heat recovery, energy-efficient lighting, water-saving fixtures, and centrally controlled climate solutions all contribute to a hotel-wide sustainability ethos.

Apron, the Michelin-starred restaurant, is a standout example. Its approach minimizes waste throughout production and service while delivering refined, expressive cuisine that represents Vienna’s contemporary identity. Sustainability becomes part of the dining experience yet never disrupts the enjoyment of it.

This balanced approach demonstrates the hotel’s belief that environmental responsibility enhances guest experiences rather than challenging them. Visitors feel the impact through quieter rooms, healthier spaces, greener surroundings, and more thoughtful service.

A Cultural and Environmental Steward

Hotel am Konzerthaus MGallery Vienna carries Vienna’s artistic and cultural legacy with pride while evolving into a hospitality model for environmentally conscious travel. With EU and Austrian Ecolabel certifications, continuous community outreach initiatives, including support for Pink October through NGO partnerships, and measurable sustainability projects underway, the hotel stands as an inspiring example of where modern hospitality can go when purpose leads the way.

UAE GREEN INNOVATION MEETS CONTEMPORARY HOSPITALITY AT LE ROYAL MÉRIDIEN ABU DHABI

RECOGNIZED AS ONE OF THE TOP 100 SUSTAINABLE HOTELS AND RESORTS OF THE WORLD, LE ROYAL MÉRIDIEN ABU DHABI SETS A DISTINGUISHED BENCHMARK FOR ENVIRONMENTALLY RESPONSIBLE HOSPITALITY IN THE REGION. ITS LATEST RECOGNITION FROM THE INTERNATIONAL SUSTAINABILITY AWARDS UNDERSCORES THE HOTEL’S CONTINUED COMMITMENT TO COMBINING CONSCIENTIOUS GUEST EXPERIENCES WITH THOUGHTFULLY DESIGNED MODERN COMFORTS. AS THE PROPERTY EVOLVES, ITS DIRECTION REMAINS CLEAR: TO OFFER REFINED STAYS THAT RESPECT, PRESERVE, AND PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT.

Sustainability as a Guiding Principle

The hotel’s environmental initiatives are well established and closely aligned with the global sustainability strategy of Marriott International. Through this group-wide approach, Le Royal Méridien Abu Dhabi focuses on reducing carbon emissions, conserving water, minimizing waste, and ensuring responsible sourcing across all areas of operation. These commitments shape daily activities within the property - from energy-management programmes to structured wastereduction systems that support annual sustainability reporting and long-term environmental objectives.

A particularly noteworthy initiative is the on-site Urban Greenhouse, which introduces a more sustainable approach to dining in Abu Dhabi. Built using advanced Indoor Hydroponic Farming and Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA), the greenhouse supplies fresh herbs and greens directly to the hotel’s restaurants. By reducing transport distances, ensuring consistency, and minimizing waste, the system enhances both environmental performance and culinary quality. Together with the hotel’s reduction of single-use amenities, these measures demonstrate a considered and effective approach to environmentally conscious hospitality.

Seven Consecutive Years of Green Key Certification

A significant milestone in the hotel’s sustainability journey is its seven-year consecutive Green Key certification, one of the most respected international eco-labels for the tourism industry. Awarded by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), the certification confirms the property’s compliance with a broad range of criteria, including environmental management, staff training, guest engagement, and community involvement.

The certification supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and highlights the hotel’s contribution to global sustainability progress. With clear metrics - including a carbon footprint of 87.10 kg and a water footprint of 760.92 litres per room night - the hotel maintains transparent reporting and a responsible path toward future improvements.

Comfort, Style, and Purpose

At Le Royal Méridien Abu Dhabi, sustainability is thoughtfully integrated into the overall guest experience. The hotel’s 278 wellappointed rooms and suites - many offering panoramic sea or city

views - provide a comfortable retreat after visits to Abu Dhabi’s cultural sites and architectural landmarks. Its central location near the Corniche, parks, and key business districts makes it suitable for business travellers, families, and leisure guests alike.

Guests may enjoy the recently updated fitness centre, relax at Rover Spa, or spend time by the outdoor pool. The Le Royal Club Lounge offers additional comfort and privacy, while the hotel’s dining venues - including the city’s only revolving restaurant, Stratos, present both international flavours and ingredients sourced directly from the Urban Greenhouse. These culinary offerings give guests the opportunity to experience sustainability in a tangible and enjoyable way.

Thoughtfully Designed Spaces

The hotel’s event and meeting facilities reflect careful planning, natural lighting, and functional flexibility. From ocean-view meeting rooms to bright ballrooms and terrace settings, the spaces can be adapted to a variety of gatherings while maintaining a focus on guest experience and environmental consideration.

HOSPITALITY WITH A SUSTAINABILITY LENS

SET ALONG THE SHORES OF THE RED SEA, MÖVENPICK RESORT & RESIDENCES AQABA REPRESENTS A HOSPITALITY CONCEPT SHAPED BY BALANCE – BETWEEN LEISURE AND RESIDENCE, INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS AND LOCAL CONTEXT, AND GUEST COMFORT AND RESPONSIBLE OPERATIONS. THE RESORT’S POSITIONING REFLECTS A BROADER EVOLUTION WITHIN LUXURY HOSPITALITY, WHERE LONG-TERM RELEVANCE IS INCREASINGLY DEFINED BY HOW THOUGHTFULLY A PROPERTY INTEGRATES ITS VALUES INTO DAILY PRACTICE. THIS APPROACH HAS BEEN RECOGNIZED THROUGH ITS INCLUSION IN LUXURY LIFESTYLE AWARDS’ TOP 100 SUSTAINABLE HOTELS & RESORTS OF THE WORLD FOR 2025.

Mövenpick Resort & Residences Aqaba operates at the convergence of resort hospitality and residential living, offering an environment designed for both short-term stays and extended experiences. This dual structure allows the property to address a wide range of guest needs while maintaining consistency in service standards and operational quality. Its presence in Aqaba places it within one of Jordan’s most strategically significant coastal destinations, appealing to travelers seeking both relaxation and regional connectivity.

The resort’s hospitality philosophy is guided by clarity and restraint rather than excess. Public spaces, accommodations, and shared amenities are conceived to support ease of movement, comfort, and functionality, reflecting an understanding of contemporary guest expectations. Rather than relying on overt statements of luxury, the experience is defined by coherence – how services, spaces, and guest interactions align across the property.

A defining element of Mövenpick Resort & Residences Aqaba is its emphasis on responsible operations within a large-scale hospitality setting. Its selection among the TOP 100 Sustainable Hotels & Resorts of the World for 2025 positions the resort within a global context of properties that integrate sustainability principles into everyday decision-making. This recognition highlights the growing importance of operational accountability in luxury hospitality, where environmental and social considerations increasingly shape how excellence is assessed.

Within this framework, sustainability is treated as a management discipline rather than a marketing feature. The resort’s operations reflect an understanding that responsible practices must be embedded into systems, processes, and long-term planning to remain effective. This perspective aligns with evolving international expectations, where sustainability is viewed as a standard of performance rather than an optional initiative.

The guest experience at Mövenpick Resort & Residences Aqaba is shaped by consistency and predictability – qualities that are often

undervalued but essential in high-level hospitality. From arrival to departure, services are structured to support comfort without unnecessary complexity. This measured approach allows guests to engage with the destination on their own terms, whether their stay is centered on leisure, work, or extended residence.

As part of a globally recognized hospitality brand, the resort benefits from established operational frameworks while retaining its own identity within the local landscape. This balance supports both reliability and adaptability, enabling the property to respond to changing guest profiles and market conditions without compromising its core standards.

In a sector where sustainability and luxury are increasingly interconnected, Mövenpick Resort & Residences Aqaba illustrates how large-scale resort operations can align comfort, service, and responsibility without relying on exaggerated narratives. Its positioning suggests a future-facing hospitality model – one that prioritizes durability, relevance, and measured excellence over shortterm visibility.

JORDAN A CONSIDERED APPROACH TO SUSTAINABLE RESORT HOSPITALITY

MÖVENPICK RESORT & SPA TALA BAY, AQABA IS A COASTAL HOSPITALITY DESTINATION LOCATED ALONG JORDAN’S RED SEA SHORELINE, DEVELOPED FOR TRAVELERS SEEKING A COMPOSED RESORT EXPERIENCE SHAPED BY ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS AND OPERATIONAL CONSISTENCY. POSITIONED WITHIN THE TALA BAY AREA OF AQABA, THE RESORT REFLECTS A CONTEMPORARY INTERPRETATION OF LUXURY HOSPITALITY WHERE LOCATION, SERVICE STRUCTURE, AND LONG-TERM RESPONSIBILITY ARE TREATED AS INTERCONNECTED PRIORITIES RATHER THAN SEPARATE OBJECTIVES.

As part of the Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts portfolio, the property follows an established hospitality framework defined by clarity of service, reliability, and guest-focused design. The resort is organized as a complete destination, offering accommodations, dining, leisure, and wellness facilities within a self-contained environment that supports extended stays and relaxed travel rhythms. Its coastal setting informs both the physical layout and the overall guest experience, encouraging a natural sense of openness while maintaining privacy and comfort.

Guest accommodation is designed to support ease and continuity throughout the stay. Spaces are arranged to prioritize natural light, clear circulation, and visual connection to the surrounding environment, reinforcing a calm atmosphere aligned with the resort’s broader hospitality philosophy. Public areas are similarly conceived, balancing social interaction with discretion and allowing guests to move comfortably between leisure, dining, and relaxation areas.

Food and beverage play a central role in the resort’s daily experience. Dining concepts are structured to serve an international audience while maintaining consistency with Mövenpick brand standards. Culinary offerings are positioned as part of the resort’s overall service framework rather than as standalone attractions, supporting a sense of continuity and reliability across the guest journey. This approach

aligns with evolving expectations for resort dining, where quality and consistency are valued over novelty-driven formats.

Wellness and recreation are integrated into the resort’s operational model in a manner that supports restorative travel. Spa facilities, pools, and leisure areas are designed to complement the coastal environment and encourage balance rather than excess. Guests are able to engage with these amenities at their own pace, reinforcing a hospitality experience centered on comfort, discretion, and individual preference.

Environmental responsibility is embedded within the resort’s operational direction. Mövenpick Resort & Spa Tala Bay, Aqaba approaches sustainability as a practical, ongoing commitment reflected in daily practices and management decisions. This orientation supports long-term resilience while responding to increasing global expectations for responsible hospitality. Rather than positioning sustainability as a separate narrative, the resort treats it as an integral component of operational quality and future readiness.

This approach was recognized through inclusion in the TOP 100 Sustainable Hotels & Resorts of the World for 2025 by Luxury Lifestyle Awards. The distinction reflects alignment with international standards that acknowledge hotels and resorts integrating sustainability principles into their operations while maintaining service excellence. Within the context of Luxury Lifestyle Awards, the TOP 100 selection functions as editorial recognition of consistency, credibility, and relevance within the global hospitality landscape.

Operationally, the resort emphasizes structured management, staff continuity, and service reliability. These elements contribute to a guest experience defined by predictability and confidence, particularly important for international travelers seeking trusted hospitality standards. The resort’s internal culture supports measured growth and adaptability, allowing it to respond to changing market expectations without compromising core values.

Geographically, Aqaba offers a distinctive setting where coastal, desert, and cultural elements converge. Mövenpick Resort & Spa Tala Bay, Aqaba, engages with this context through thoughtful positioning rather than thematic presentation. The resort serves as a base from which guests can experience the region while returning to an environment defined by comfort and order. This balance reinforces its role as a destination suited to both leisure-focused travel and longer resort stays.

The resort’s selection among the TOP 100 Sustainable Hotels & Resorts of the World reinforces its position within a segment of hospitality increasingly defined by responsibility, longevity, and operational clarity. As sustainability continues to influence how luxury is evaluated globally, Mövenpick Resort & Spa Tala Bay, Aqaba, reflects an understanding of luxury as a disciplined, forwardlooking practice rather than a purely aesthetic pursuit.

Through its measured hospitality approach, established brand alignment, and attention to operational responsibility, Mövenpick Resort & Spa Tala Bay, Aqaba, continues to contribute to the evolving narrative of modern resort hospitality in the Middle East.

PARKROYAL COLLECTION PICKERING, SINGAPORE: A LIVING LANDMARK OF SUSTAINABLE HOSPITALITY

CELEBRATED ON THE GLOBAL STAGE AS ONE OF THE TOP 100 SUSTAINABLE HOTELS & RESORTS OF THE WORLD, PARKROYAL COLLECTION PICKERING, SINGAPORE CONTINUES TO RAISE THE STANDARD FOR ECO-CONSCIOUS HOSPITALITY. ITS RECOGNITION BY THE INTERNATIONAL SUSTAINABILITY AWARDS UNDERSCORES A LONG-TERM PHILOSOPHY SHAPED BY INNOVATION, WELLNESS, AND NATURE-FIRST DESIGN. AS PARKROYAL COLLECTION PICKERING ADVANCES ITS FOOTPRINT IN SUSTAINABLE TRAVEL, IT STANDS AS A TRAIL-SETTING EXAMPLE OF WHAT URBAN GREEN LIVING CAN ACHIEVE ON A GLOBAL SCALE.

Green Architecture That Reimagines the Urban Experience

Designed by WOHA, an architecture firm celebrated for its progressive approach to sustainability, the hotel stands out with 15,000 square metres of greenery woven into its physical structure. Its stacked sky gardens, cascading planters, and botanical terraces form a dramatic visual presence while supporting biodiversity through attractively designed habitats.

Beyond its visual appeal, the architecture plays an active role in enhancing the city's environment. Solar energy systems, rainwater harvesting, and smart environmental controls reduce resource use without sacrificing guest comfort. The hotel’s rooftop Urban Farm and Hydroponics Farm reinforces food resilience while supplying fresh ingredients to its dining venues, an initiative that brings farm-to-table principles directly into the guest experience.

Technology That Enhances Service and Sustainability

Technology forms a powerful part of the hotel’s hospitality strategy. Through its digital roadmap, the property integrates tools such as robotic process automation and auto schedulers, giving staff more

time for meaningful guest interactions. Mobile check-in and IPTV systems enable guests to personalise their stay, from entertainment to in-room dining.

The hotel also acknowledges that travellers have diverse expectations. For this reason, both high-tech conveniences and traditional service touchpoints are maintained. Guests who prefer face-to-face assistance will find attentive staff ready to support their visit, while those who value efficiency and digital interaction have a suite of smart tools at their disposal.

Wellness Experiences That Inspire Renewal

The property’s wellness philosophy is reflected across its dedicated wellness floor, where multiple experiences encourage restoration and healthy living. Guests can enjoy an infinity pool overlooking Singapore’s dynamic cityscape, access state-of-the-art fitness facilities, or participate in weekly classes such as power core, stretch and restore, and muay fit.

The St. Gregory spa complements these offerings with treatments founded on eco-conscious principles. The focus on natural ingredients, sustainable products, and revitalising therapies ensures that guests enjoy a deeply relaxing stay that supports both their wellbeing and the environment.

A Dining Concept Rooted in Sustainability

Lime Restaurant brings the hotel’s agricultural efforts to the table through dishes featuring ingredients harvested directly from the Urban Farm and Hydroponics Farm. This approach enhances flavour and freshness, while reinforcing the property's efforts to reduce food miles and strengthen its connection to local producers.

Beyond its culinary philosophy, Lime also contributes to the hotel’s wider sustainability framework through thoughtful sourcing, waste reduction measures, and active participation in the Singapore Food Agency’s Farm-To-Table Recognition Programme, achieving the requirement of procuring at least 15% local produce in at least three food categories.

Service Excellence Through a Versatile and Empowered Team

Behind the hotel’s success lies a people-first approach to service. Staff are encouraged to develop their skills across departments, building a flexible workforce ready to support guests at every touchpoint. Bell staff can step into concierge roles, and security team members can serve as lobby ambassadors, creating a fluid, confident, and engaging service culture.

This approach ensures guests consistently receive attentive support tailored to their preferences, whether they gravitate toward modern conveniences or classic hospitality.

A Global Hospitality Brand with Purpose

As part of Pan Pacific Hotels Group, the property is backed by a global organisation operating more than 50 hotels across Asia Pacific, Europe, North America, and Africa. The PARKROYAL COLLECTION brand in particular, champions wellbeing, natureled design, and an uplifting lifestyle philosophy, making the PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering property a standout example of sustainability-led luxury.

The hotel’s achievements include multiple awards, including being a recipient of MICHELIN Guide 2025’s One Michelin Key distinction, being named World’s Leading Green City Hotel from 2018 to 2025 and officially meeting the rigorous GSTC industry criteria for hotels. These recognitions highlight sustained progress in responsible hospitality across architecture, operations, and guest experience.

Why PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering Continues to Stand Out

With growing interest from travellers in the US, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, the hotel continues to expand its influence through compelling visual storytelling, strong digital engagement, and media collaborations. Its balance of wellness, sustainability, and modern hospitality ensures it resonates with international audiences seeking meaningful, future-facing travel experiences.

NORWAY

OSLO’S ICONIC RADISSON BLU PLAZA LEADS THE CHARGE IN GREEN INNOVATION

RADISSON BLU PLAZA HOTEL, OSLO, HAS EARNED A PLACE AMONG THE TOP 100 SUSTAINABLE HOTELS & RESORTS OF THE WORLD, CELEBRATED FOR ITS INNOVATIVE GREEN TECHNOLOGIES, EFFICIENT OPERATIONS, AND RESPONSIBLE COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT. THE RECOGNITION BY THE INTERNATIONAL SUSTAINABILITY AWARDS HIGHLIGHTS HOW THIS OSLO LANDMARK HAS TRANSFORMED ENVIRONMENTAL CONSCIOUSNESS INTO MEASURABLE ACTION.

A Pioneer in Nordic Sustainability

As Norway’s first hotel to receive the Nordic Swan Ecolabel back in 2002, Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Oslo has long been a frontrunner in responsible hospitality. The hotel’s continued Green Key certification since 2015 reinforces its active participation in the country’s ecoevolution. Every initiative, from reducing waste to rethinking energy consumption, reflects a methodical and measurable approach to sustainability.

In a significant step forward, the hotel introduced Norway’s first Voluntary Climate Contribution program, adding NOK 30 to each guest’s room bill to directly fund verified green projects. This innovative model exemplifies how a collective contribution can drive largescale change, allowing guests to participate in tangible sustainability outcomes.

Technology That Transforms Impact

One of the hotel’s most notable achievements is the use of artificial intelligence to reduce food waste. Partnering with the intelligent WINNOW system, the hotel cut food waste by an impressive 67% between 2023 and 2024, equating to just 230 grams per guest, well below the European average of 340 grams.

This technological leap doesn’t just save resources; it provides valuable data that continually refines operations. The approach has inspired new sustainability discussions across Norway’s hospitality industry, showing how technology can drive both environmental and economic efficiency.

Green Energy and Measurable Progress

Sourcing 100% of its electricity from hydropower, the hotel operates with zero CO2 emissions from energy use. Its consumption per guest night, 33.3 kWh in 2024, compared to the European average of 45.2 kWh, demonstrates how careful monitoring and responsible management can lead to significant environmental gains.

Further initiatives include replacing 90% of all lighting with LED systems, installing over 80 EV chargers in its parking garage, and hosting 100% carbon-neutral meetings through verified carbon credit purchases from partners such as Agreena. Each step contributes to the hotel’s broader goal: achieving a 50% emission reduction by 2030 and full carbon neutrality by 2050.

The results speak volumes. Between 2023 and 2024, total CO2e emissions per guest night fell by 15%, reaching 8.87 kg. This measurable success underscores the hotel’s pragmatic and datadriven sustainability philosophy.

Water, Waste, and the Human Factor

The hotel’s environmental progress extends far beyond technology. By introducing reusable water carafes in guest rooms, it saves around 110,000 plastic bottles every year. The upcoming renovation of all 678 bathrooms, replacing bathtubs with efficient showers, is expected to reduce water usage by up to 30% once complete in 2025.

Guests are also encouraged to participate through the Green Housekeeping program, which reduces the frequency of room cleaning, towel, and linen changes. In 2024, this initiative prevented the washing of 67,000 linen items, cutting both water and energy consumption dramatically.

Driving these results is a dedicated sustainability committee made up of representatives from every department. Their collaboration ensures that eco-initiatives are more than management directives; they’re part of the hotel’s culture. Suppliers, too, are expected to align with the same values, reinforcing a sustainable supply chain that magnifies impact.

Redefining Meetings for a Greener Future

Beyond guest stays, the hotel’s 30 conference and event rooms, spanning 1,800 square meters, are designed to host sustainable meetings and events for up to 1,100 guests. Each event automatically offsets its carbon footprint through the Radisson Meetings program, in partnership with First Climate, ensuring environmental responsibility without compromising service.

From the Sonja Henie Ballroom to the panoramic Top Meetings venue on the 33rd floor, every space integrates modern efficiency with environmental consideration. The hotel’s use of the Hotel Carbon Measurement Initiative (HCMI) framework ensures transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement, setting a new standard for sustainable event management in Scandinavia.

Community, Collaboration, and a Greener Tomorrow

While data defines the results, it is the people behind Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel, Oslo, who make sustainability meaningful. Their belief that “actions matter” permeates every part of the operation, from kitchen staff minimizing waste to executives driving systemic change. The hotel’s Climate Contribution program, the first of its kind in both Norway and the Radisson Hotel Group, reflects a model of shared responsibility between business and guest, where every stay directly supports global green initiatives.

As Oslo continues to evolve as a modern, eco-forward capital, this high-rise hotel stands as a symbol of what responsible luxury can achieve when sustainability moves from statement to measurable impact.

Discover Responsible Hospitality in Oslo

Through conscious design, advanced technology, and collaborative action, Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel, Oslo continues to prove that sustainability and comfort can thrive together. Guests are invited to be part of the change and experience a hotel that leads by example.

The property’s apartment-style accommodation, available in one or two-bedroom layouts, caters to both short and extended stays, presenting the comfort of a private home supported by hotel-style services. Air-conditioning, private bathrooms, high-speed WiFi, and thoughtful in-room amenities shape an experience centered around convenience without excess.

The residence’s sustainability ethos starts with transparency: guests can view clear data on carbon and water footprints per room night, empowering them to make informed decisions. This level of openness highlights the hotel’s intent to encourage mindfully aware travel in practical, approachable ways.

Wellness and Leisure Designed for Balanced Living

Sustainability at Somerset Westview Nairobi is not limited to operations; it is woven into the everyday guest experience. The property features a sauna, steam room, fitness centre, and year-round outdoor pool, encouraging guests to enjoy wellness activities that enhance

This programme takes the concept of responsible hospitality and translates it into immersive, uplifting experiences for all ages.

VERGENOEGD LÖW THE WINE ESTATE

SOUTH AFRICA

NATURE-DRIVEN LUXURY AND RENEWAL AT VERGENOEGD LÖW THE WINE ESTATE

EARNING ITS PLACE AMONG THE TOP 100 SUSTAINABLE HOTELS AND RESORTS OF THE WORLD, VERGENOEGD LÖW WINE ESTATE HAS BEEN RECOGNISED BY THE INTERNATIONAL SUSTAINABILITY AWARDS FOR ADVANCING A HOLISTIC MODEL OF REGENERATIVE HOSPITALITY. IN AN ERA WHERE ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY IS EVOLVING RAPIDLY, VERGENOEGD LÖW WINE ESTATE DEMONSTRATES HOW HERITAGE, ECOLOGY, AND MEANINGFUL GUEST EXPERIENCES CAN THRIVE AS ONE COHESIVE OFFERING.

Regeneration as a Way of Life

The estate’s philosophy goes far beyond conventional sustainability. Rather than simply maintaining what exists, the team is working to restore and strengthen natural systems over time. Regenerative agriculture shapes the landscape, where vineyards, pastures, and natural habitats are managed as interconnected ecosystems. Naturebased enrichment supports soil health, and early monitoring is now underway to track changes in biodiversity and land resilience.

Livestock is integral to this approach. Indian Runner ducks move through the vineyards providing natural pest control. Dexter cattle and Dohne Merino sheep support rotational grazing that helps return organic matter to the soil and can reduce reliance on chemical intervention. These animals are functional contributors to a regenerative system designed to support soil vitality over time — and wines that reflect their place.

Water, Energy, and Circular Thinking

Water stewardship sits at the core of the estate’s environmental strategy. Greywater reclamation, dam-based water storage (fed by seasonal rainfall) and ongoing monitoring help the team manage irrigation efficiently and adapt to changing climatic conditions. Drought-tolerant landscaping complements the estate’s broader water-saving approach.

Circular waste management helps close resource loops. Green waste from the gardens is composted on-site, returning nutrients directly to the soil. Kitchen waste is collected separately and repurposed as feed. Solar power provides an increasing share of the estate’s energy, while continuous upgrades to insulation and energy-efficient systems keep consumption low.

This approach extends to daily guest operations, from biodegradable packaging to refillable amenities, empowering visitors to participate in a low-impact environment without compromising comfort.

A Heritage Estate with Contemporary Purpose

With origins tracing back to 1696, Vergenoegd Löw remains one of South Africa’s oldest working wine farms, a living national monument intertwined with the European Heritage Project and recognised as a WWF Conservation Champion site. Yet its futurefocused environmental transformation began in 2015, when new leadership launched a complete revitalisation to align the property’s legacy with a new ecological direction.

Today, guests experience this fusion of past and present through a spectrum of immersive activities. Guided nature walks, regenerative farming insights, and tasting experiences illuminate

how wildlife, heritage, wine, and sustainability intersect. The Art Walk, featuring works by celebrated artists including Dylan Lewis, further strengthens the connection between culture and landscape.

Spaces for Restoration and Celebration

Vergenoegd Löw is also known for its atmosphere of quiet, expansive beauty — an ideal canvas for weddings, private gatherings, and memorable celebrations. Vast lawns, shifting light, and sweeping views create a setting that feels grounded in nature and history.

Its spa elevates the restorative experience with couple treatment rooms, revitalising therapies, and sensory rituals such as hydrating milk baths. Whether staying overnight or visiting for the day, guests are invited into an environment shaped by natural rhythm, calm, and thoughtful design.

The estate’s dining offering continues to evolve as well. Two recently renovated restaurants, Geuwels and Clara’s Barn, anchor a culinary philosophy shaped by Michelle Theron, the estate’s first head of gastronomy. Produce from the farm and surrounding smallscale growers informs menus that pay homage to South African heritage while embracing modern techniques. Clara’s Barn, the oldest building on the farm, retains its historic cobblestones and feeding troughs, celebrating its past while welcoming fresh culinary creativity.

Wine Rooted in Ecology and Expression

At its core, Vergenoegd Löw remains a wine estate shaped by centuries of tradition. The vineyards are managed using regenerative viticulture practices, where natural processes are prioritised and interventions are kept thoughtful and minimal. As monitoring continues, the goal is to let the grapes and the land guide the style — producing wines that express place, history, and the estate’s evolving relationship with its environment.

They equip you with sophisticated tools to express your membership with subtle strength—an elegant lapel pin, a premium plaque, curated stickers, and a personalized welcome letter. It’s branding, done the luxury way. This kind of credibility speaks volumes to clients, partners, and even competitors. It says: We belong here. We are part of something bigger—and better.

The Events and Luxury Education Hub Offers Exceptional Value on Their Own

WLCC’s event calendar and Luxury Education Hub read like a who’s-who of the luxury world—executive programs in Milan and Paris, thought-leader webinars with experts like Chris Roebuck and Antonio Paraiso, and VIP gatherings in global capitals. Members enjoy priority access, discounted packages, and exclusive experiences that are as enriching as they are glamorous. These aren’t just events; they’re opportunities to be inspired, seen, and remembered.

So, What’s the Catch?

Truthfully? WLCC isn’t for everyone—and that’s the point. To qualify, you need to bring something to the table: excellence in your field, an international mindset, and a shared commitment to sustainability and innovation. This is a community of leaders, not followers. But if your brand lives and breathes luxury, if you’re looking to scale with integrity and connect with kindred brands across the globe—then WLCC might just be the strategic edge you’ve been waiting for.

BECAUSE IN LUXURY, GROWTH ISN’T JUST ABOUT SELLING MORE. IT’S ABOUT CONNECTING BETTER, COMMUNICATING SMARTER, AND POSITIONING YOURSELF EXACTLY WHERE YOUR AUDIENCE EXPECTS TO FIND YOU—AMONG THE WORLD’S BEST.

Expand your influence. Strengthen your brand. Join the future of luxury.
