THE EUROPEAN RESET: NOT READY TO LET GO

REFINED INTUITION: LEADING WITH BALANCE AT MAESTRAL RESORT & CASINO

WHERE SUMMER LINGERS A LITTLE LONGER

SPOTLIGHT: AL HABTOOR PALACE BUDAPEST

REST BEFORE RUSH: EUROPE’S SOFTER SUMMER

THE EUROPEAN RESET: NOT READY TO LET GO

There is always that moment…

The one where you realise summer is slipping.

It’s not gone yet, but it’s no longer guaranteed. The days are still warm, but the evenings carry a slight edge. Shops start shifting seasons. Calendars start filling up again.

And suddenly, there’s an

expectation to move on.

To get back into routine. To refocus. To prepare for what’s next.

But what if you’re not ready for that?

What if you’re not done with slow mornings, late dinners, and days that don’t need structure?

What if you just want a little more time in the sun?

HOLDING

Summer has a way of changing how we move.

You wake up without urgency. You take your time getting ready. You spend more of the day outside than in. Meals stretch longer, conversations go deeper, and time feels less measured.

And then, just as you settle into that rhythm, it’s expected to end. Cleanly. Quickly. Without much resistance.

But that shift doesn’t feel natural.

Because once you’ve experienced that slower, lighter version of life, it’s difficult to walk away from it without question.

So instead of letting it go, maybe the better option is to follow it.

CHASING THE SUN, JUST A LITTLE FURTHER

So we’d suggest, if this feeling sounds familiar, to pack a bag and book a flight to Europe.

Because Europe, at the tail end of summer, feels different.

Not quieter in a dull way, but softer in a way that’s easier to step into.

The heat lingers, but without the intensity. The streets are still alive, but without the pressure. There is space again, not just physically, but mentally.

You’re not competing for the experience anymore.

You’re just… in it.

And that makes it the perfect place to hold onto summer just a little longer.

But this time, we do it differently.

It’s not about going back to the same cities. Not the obvious ones. Not the ones that come with a checklist.

This isn’t that kind of trip.

This is where you choose differently.

A coastal town you’ve never properly looked into. A city that wasn’t originally on your radar. Somewhere that feels slightly unfamiliar, but in the best way.

There’s something about this time of year, discovering a place without preconceptions.

No pressure to do it “right.” No expectation to follow a certain route.

You just arrive, and you figure it out as you go.

And that’s where things start to feel real.

DAYS THAT DON’T NEED A PLAN

This kind of trip calls for days without structure, so don’t even think about planning too much in advance.

Let mornings begin slowly. Let coffee turn into breakfast, which turns into staying longer than you meant to. Walk because the streets invite you, not because you have somewhere to be.

Let afternoons unfold without much direction.

Maybe you find a beach. Maybe you end up in a quiet square. Maybe you do nothing at all.

That’s kind of the point.

Planning and schedules are for when you’re back home.

Here, it’s not about making the most of every second.

It’s just about letting it happen.

EVENINGS THAT STRETCH ENDLESSLY

If there is one thing Europe does exceptionally well, it’s evenings.

The kind that don’t feel rushed.

Dinner doesn’t start early. It builds slowly. A drink first, then another. A table outside. Conversations that move easily from one topic to the next.

There is no sense of needing to leave.

Time stretches in a way that feels almost intentional.

And those evenings, more than anything else, are what we tend to hold onto.

Not the landmarks. Not the schedules.

Just that feeling of sitting somewhere, completely present, with nowhere else you need to be.

A DIFFERENT KIND OF RESET

This trip isn’t a reset in the traditional sense.

It’s not about detoxing, disconnecting, or completely stepping away.

It’s softer than that.

It’s about delaying the return. Creating a pause before everything speeds up again.

A few more days of warmth. A few more evenings that don’t end too early. A few more moments where time feels flexible.

And in doing that, you don’t just extend summer.

You ease yourself out of it.

BECAUSE

YOU’RE NOT DONE YET

There is nothing wrong with not being ready.

Not ready for early mornings that feel rushed. Not ready for colder days and heavier routines. Not ready to trade long evenings for shorter ones.

Sometimes, the best decision is to lean into that feeling.

To take one more trip. To choose one more place. To give yourself a little more time before the shift becomes unavoidable.

Europe, right now, offers exactly that.

Warmth without intensity. Energy without chaos. Experiences without pressure.

It meets you where you are.

ONE LAST SUMMER, ON YOUR TERMS

You don’t need a long itinerary. You don’t need a packed schedule.

You just need the decision to go.

To hold onto the feeling a little longer. To experience something new before the season changes completely. To take what summer still has to offer, without rushing through it.

Because it’s still there.

The golden light. The late dinners. The slower pace.

Waiting.

So if you’re not ready to let go just yet, don’t.

Go where summer is still lingering, and let yourself stay in it just a little longer.

Let these pages be the reason you do.

INTERVIEW

REFINED INTUITION: LEADING WITH BALANCE AT MAESTRAL RESORT & CASINO

In a destination where sea, culture, and sophistication meet, leadership plays a defining role in shaping the guest experience. At Maestral Resort & Casino, CEO Jason Goh brings a people-first philosophy to a property that balances tranquillity with energy, and tradition with modern luxury.

In this conversation, he reflects on his journey through hospitality, the evolving expectations of today’s traveller, and how Maestral creates an environment where guests can slow down and hold onto the feeling of summer just a little longer.

What first inspired you to pursue a career in hospitality, and how has your journey shaped your approach to leadership today?

I was drawn to hospitality at a time when the world itself felt like it was opening up. Growing up in the late 1990s, travel was becoming more accessible, and I was fascinated by the idea that a single industry could bring together people, cultures, and experiences in such a meaningful way. Very early on, I knew I wanted to be part of that environment— one that is dynamic, international, and deeply human.

As my career evolved, that initial fascination with travel became a deeper appreciation for people. Meeting individuals from all walks of life—guests and colleagues alike—has been one of the most defining aspects of my journey.

It has shaped my understanding of leadership as something rooted not in hierarchy, but in empathy, adaptability, and genuine connection.

Having also progressed through the ranks operationally, I’ve developed a grounded perspective on what it takes to deliver excellence at every level. That combination—hands-on experience and exposure to diverse perspectives—has shaped a leadership style that is both pragmatic and people-centric.

Today, I see leadership in hospitality as the ability to create an environment where individuals feel valued, understood, and inspired to perform at their best. Ultimately, it’s that human element—more than anything else— that transforms a property from simply excellent to truly exceptional.

Looking back on your career, what key experiences have most influenced the way you manage and elevate a luxury property?

Looking back on my career, the experiences that have most shaped my approach to managing and elevating a luxury property are those that exposed me to both operational depth and human diversity. I’ve had the opportunity to understand the business from the ground up, and that early, hands-on exposure gave me a deep appreciation for the detail, discipline, and teamwork required at every level of the operation. All these accumulation of experiences continues to inform how I lead today.

Working across different markets and alongside people from a wide range of cultural and professional backgrounds has further broadened my perspective. It has made me more empathetic as a leader and more attentive to the nuances that define truly exceptional service.

I’ve come to believe that luxury is not just about physical assets or standards, but about how well you understand and anticipate the expectations of both guests and teams. Leading diverse teams has reinforced the importance of listening, adaptability, and creating an environment where people feel valued and empowered to deliver at the highest level.

Additionally, navigating periods of both growth and challenge has strengthened my focus on consistency, attention to detail, and long-term vision. Altogether, these experiences have shaped a management style that is both people-centric and performancedriven—one that prioritizes authenticity, cultural awareness, and a relentless commitment to excellence.

Hospitality is constantly evolving. What has been the most significant change you’ve witnessed in guest expectations over the years?

In my view, the most significant shift in guest expectations has been the level of awareness and discernment driven by technology. Today’s luxury guest is exceptionally well-informed— they know what exists, they’ve seen it, and they are often benchmarking your property against the very best in the world before they even arrive.

This has fundamentally redefined luxury. It’s no longer about traditional markers such as formality or opulence; those are now assumed. What truly differentiates a property today is its ability to deliver something personal, intuitive, and authentic.

I would also say that guests have become far less forgiving of inconsistency. With information so readily available, expectations are not only higher, but also more precise. There is a clear understanding of what ‘good’ looks like—and anything short of that is immediately recognized.

For me, this has meant shifting the focus from simply maintaining standards to continuously evolving the experience. It requires a team that is empowered, highly attuned, and capable of anticipating needs in a way that feels effortless to the guest.

Ultimately, I believe the modern luxury guest is not impressed by what you have—they are impressed by how well you understand them. And that has been the most defining change of all.

the essence of the guest experience here?

I would define the essence of the guest experience at Maestral as one of refined intimacy, where personalized service and a strong sense of place come together seamlessly. With just 200 rooms, we have the advantage of creating a more attentive and tailored experience—one where guests are not just recognized, but genuinely understood.

What makes the experience particularly distinctive is our ability to blend international luxury standards with the warmth and authenticity of Balkan hospitality. For many of our guests, especially those visiting from further afield, this creates something memorable—an experience that feels both elevated and deeply personal. We also see strong loyalty within our clientele, with a significant number of returning guests. To me, that is one of the clearest indicators that we are delivering something meaningful. It suggests that beyond the facilities and services, we are creating a sense of familiarity and trust that encourages guests to return.

Ultimately, the Maestral experience is about balance— between relaxation and entertainment, sophistication and warmth, consistency and personalization. It’s that balance that defines who we are and how we differentiate ourselves.

Maestral Resort & Casino offers a unique blend of relaxation, entertainment, and refined service. How would you define

The resort combines coastal tranquillity with vibrant energy. How do you balance these elements to create a seamless stay for your guests?

The balance between tranquillity and vibrant energy is very much intentional, and it starts with understanding the diversity of our clientele. Our guests come to

us with different expectations— some are seeking complete relaxation, while others are drawn to the energy and entertainment we offer. Our role is to recognize those individual preferences and deliver accordingly.

What defines us is precisely that duality. We are able to offer the calm and restorative atmosphere of a coastal retreat— through our setting and spa experience—while also providing the excitement and dynamism of the casino and its entertainment programme. Rather than these elements competing, we position them as complementary facets of a single, well-rounded experience.

Achieving that balance comes

down to attentiveness and flexibility. It requires a team that is highly aware of guest needs and capable of adapting the experience in a way that feels seamless and intuitive.

Ultimately, our goal is to ensure that each guest experiences the property in the way that suits them best—whether that means complete tranquillity, vibrant energy, or a combination of both at different moments of their stay.

Personalisation has become central to modern luxury. How does your team ensure each guest experience feels tailored and memorable?

Personalisation, in my view,

begins long before the guest arrives. It is the result of thoughtful preparation, strong team culture, and a genuine commitment to understanding who the guest is and what they value.

We are fortunate to have a core operations team with diverse backgrounds and long tenure within the company. That continuity is incredibly valuable— it allows us to build institutional knowledge, anticipate guest preferences, and deliver a level of familiarity that is difficult to replicate. I firmly believe that when a company invests in and takes care of its people, they, in turn, take greater care of the guest. That sense of ownership and pride is essential in delivering

truly personalized service.

From a practical standpoint, we place strong emphasis on pre-arrival preparation— understanding where our guests are coming from, their preferences, and the purpose of their stay. This ensures that by the time they arrive, the experience already feels considered and tailored.

Equally important is the strength of our front-line team. They are empowered to interpret and respond to guest needs in real time, adding a human touch that technology alone cannot replicate.

Ultimately, personalisation is not just about data or process— it’s about people. When you

combine preparation, experience, and genuine care, you create moments that feel both effortless and memorable for the guest.

With offerings ranging from wellness and fine dining to a prestigious casino, how do you ensure each aspect maintains the same level of excellence?

With such a diverse range of offerings, I think it’s important to recognize that excellence does not come from one individual having all the answers. Instead, it comes from building a strong, aligned team and creating the right structure for communication, accountability, and continuous improvement.

We place a strong emphasis on open dialogue and regular feedback across all departments. Each area—whether wellness, dining, or gaming—has its own expertise, and it’s essential that those voices are heard. When team members feel valued and included in the decisionmaking process, they naturally take greater ownership of their responsibilities, which directly impacts the level of service delivered.

From an operational standpoint, consistency is driven through discipline. Weekly operations meetings are a key part of that structure, allowing us to review performance, address challenges early, and ensure alignment across the property. Being

present and engaged in these discussions enables us to resolve issues proactively, often before they become visible to the guest.

Ultimately, maintaining the same level of excellence across all touchpoints comes down to clarity of standards, strength of communication, and a culture where people feel both empowered and accountable. When those elements are in place, consistency follows naturally.

Montenegro is increasingly gaining attention as a luxury destination. What makes this region so special, and how does the resort reflect its character?

Montenegro’s rise over the past decade has been quite remarkable. It has evolved from what was once considered a hidden Adriatic gem into a destination that is now firmly positioned on the global luxury map. What is particularly interesting is that this growth has been very intentional—there has been a clear shift toward quality over quantity, attracting a more discerning, experience-driven traveller.

At the same time, what makes Montenegro truly special is that, despite this development, it has managed to retain the essence captured in its ‘Wild Beauty’ identity. The country offers a rare combination of dramatic natural landscapes, authenticity, and cultural depth—something that many more established destinations have, to some extent, lost over time.

I believe Maestral, and the wider Sveti Stefan and Budva region, encapsulate this balance particularly well. We are surrounded by extraordinary natural beauty and heritage, yet many elements remain deeply preserved—whether it is the character of the coastline or details such as our centuries-

old olive trees, which speak to a strong sense of history and continuity.

What we aim to do as a resort is reflect that same duality. We combine modern luxury and international standards with the warmth and authenticity of Balkan hospitality. In doing so, we are not trying to replicate other destinations, but rather to express what Montenegro truly is—raw, refined, and deeply genuine.

Ultimately, I believe that is what resonates most with today’s luxury traveller. They are not just looking for a beautiful place to stay, but for a destination with identity. And Montenegro—and Maestral within it—offers exactly that.

This issue explores the idea of not wanting to let go of summer. How does Maestral Resort & Casino create an environment where guests can truly slow down and extend that feeling?

At Maestral, creating an environment where guests can truly slow down begins with offering both space and choice. We curate a range of experiences that allow each guest to engage with the property at their own pace—whether that’s unwinding on our private beach, enjoying a restorative spa treatment, or simply taking in a sunset over a quiet dinner.

At the same time, we recognize that relaxation means different things to different people. For some, it’s complete stillness; for others, it’s having the freedom to move between experiences— perhaps a morning by the sea, an afternoon in the spa, and an evening of fine dining or light entertainment. Even for families, we ensure that parents can fully switch off, knowing their children

are engaged and well cared for. What we aim to create is a sense of effortless continuity—where there is no urgency, no pressure, and always something inviting to return to. That variety, combined with a relaxed rhythm, naturally encourages guests to extend their stay, because they feel there is always more to enjoy, but never a need to rush.

Ultimately, it’s about capturing that feeling of summer at its best—unhurried, indulgent, and quietly memorable—and allowing our guests to hold onto it for just a little longer.

For travellers seeking one final escape before returning to routine, what kind of experience do you hope they leave with after their stay?

A great stay should linger. We want our guests to leave not just refreshed, but with the sense that they’ve experienced something rare—something that stays with them well beyond their departure. If we’ve done it right, they return to their routine more energized, but with part of them already thinking about coming back. That anticipation, that pull to return, is what defines a truly memorable experience.

At its core, true luxury is not defined by scale or spectacle, but by how a place makes you feel. Under Jason Goh’s leadership, Maestral Resort & Casino has become a destination where balance, authenticity, and intuitive service come together effortlessly.

In a season dedicated to holding onto summer, it is perhaps this sense of ease—and the ability to simply be—that leaves the most lasting impression.

WHERE SUMMER LINGERS A LITTLE LONGER

So, you’ve decided not to rush back into reality. You’re holding onto the summer feeling a little longer. Booking the flight. Taking the trip. Choosing not to let it end just yet.

The question now becomes a different one.

Where do you actually go?

You’re not considering the obvious choices. Not the cities you’ve already seen, or the ones that come with expectations, crowds, and a sense of needing to “do it properly.”

This kind of trip asks for something else.

Somewhere that still feels open.

Somewhere that hasn’t been overplanned.

Somewhere you can arrive without already knowing exactly how it will unfold.

Because when the intention is to stretch summer just a little further, the destination matters more than ever.

FOR ENERGY, MOVEMENT, AND SEA AIR

If part of you still wants that feeling of momentum, the sense that something is happening around you, even if you’re not fully part of it, then Batumi is where you begin.

It’s not a city that sits still.

Positioned along the Black Sea, it carries a layered energy, coastal ease mixed with a fast-evolving skyline, long promenades, and an atmosphere that shifts as the day moves on. Mornings feel slow and spacious, afternoons pick up rhythm,

and evenings stretch into something vibrant without ever feeling overwhelming.

At Orbi City Hotel, that flexibility becomes part of the experience.

Apartment-style living means you’re not tied to a schedule. You can wake to soft light reflecting off the water, step out into the city when it feels right, and return whenever you choose. There’s a sense of independence here, of being in the middle of it all, without needing to keep up with it.

It’s ideal for travellers who don’t want structure, but still want energy.

FOR DAYS THAT FLOW INTO EACH OTHER

If what you’re really looking for is a place where the day takes care of itself, then the Adriatic coast offers something entirely different.

In Montenegro, the pace shifts almost immediately. The landscapes feel softer, the coastline more intimate, and the overall rhythm less defined.

Here, you don’t need to plan your time.

At Maestral Resort & Casino, everything exists within reach, but nothing demands your attention all at once.

You might start your morning by the water, without deciding what comes next. That could turn into an afternoon at the spa, or simply staying where you are, letting time pass without noticing it too much. As the evening builds, the experience changes naturally—dining becomes slower, more atmospheric, and the option for something livelier is always there if you want it.

It’s not about doing more. It’s about not needing to.

FOR SOMETHING QUIET, PERSONAL, AND UNEXPECTED

And then there are the places that feel almost like a secret.

The ones you wouldn’t necessarily think of first—but end up remembering the most.

In Jerez de la Frontera, everything feels more grounded. The streets carry history, but not in a way that feels curated or performative. Life moves at its own pace here, shaped more by local rhythm than visitor expectation.

This is where you go when you want to slow down properly.

At Hotel Sidonia, that feeling becomes even more defined. With only a handful of rooms, the experience is naturally more personal. Each space carries its own character, and the atmosphere leans toward intimacy rather than scale.

You’re not navigating a large property or a busy destination.

You’re simply… there.

Settling into your surroundings. Taking your time. Letting the experience feel a little more yours.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT KIND OF ESCAPE

What these places offer isn’t the same thing, and that’s exactly the point.

This isn’t about finding the destination. It’s about choosing the version of summer you’re not ready to let go of.

Do you want something with movement and energy, where the city carries you through the day?

Do you want somewhere that unfolds slowly, where everything you need is already in one place?

Or do you want to step away almost entirely, into something quieter and more personal?

There’s no right answer.

Only the one that fits how you want this moment to feel.

BECAUSE THIS TRIP FEELS DIFFERENT

This isn’t your usual holiday.

You’re not trying to see everything. You’re not moving quickly. You’re not ticking off destinations.

You’re extending something.

A feeling. A pace. A version of yourself that only really exists when summer does.

And the places you choose should support that, not interrupt it.

ONE LAST CHOICE BEFORE THE SEASON SHIFTS

If you’re going to take this trip, and you should, then choose somewhere that gives you space.

Space to wake up slowly. Space to change your plans. Space to feel like time isn’t pressing quite so hard.

Because that’s what you’re really holding onto.

Not just the sun, or the warmth, or the setting.

But the way it all makes you feel.

And the right place will let you stay in that feeling… just a little longer.

SPOTLIGHT

AL HABTOOR PALACE BUDAPEST A PALACE WHERE TIME SLOWS, BEAUTIFULLY

There are places you visit, and then there are places you arrive at.

In the heart of Budapest, set within the historic Adria Palace, Al Habtoor Palace Budapest belongs firmly to the latter. From the moment you step inside, the pace shifts. The city remains just beyond its doors, but within, everything feels more measured, more intentional.

It’s not simply the architecture, although that certainly plays its part.

Sweeping staircases, meticulously restored salons, and the building’s iconic dome create an atmosphere that feels undeniably grand.

But what defines the experience is not just what has been preserved, it’s how it’s been reimagined.

There is a quiet balance here between heritage and modern refinement. Old-World elegance is present in every detail, yet it never feels distant or untouchable. Instead, it’s softened by a contemporary approach to hospitality that prioritises ease, comfort, and personalisation.

The 199 rooms and suites reflect this seamlessly. Elegant yet inviting, each space is designed to feel like more than just a place to stay. It’s somewhere you can settle into. Somewhere that encourages you to slow down, even if only for a little while.

vAnd that sense of ease carries through every part of the experience.

Service is attentive without being intrusive. Details are considered without ever feeling overworked. From seamless arrivals to thoughtfully curated instay moments, everything is handled with a level of care that feels both effortless and precise.

Dining, too, becomes part of that rhythm.

Whether it’s a relaxed coffee at Velvet Bar & Café, an elegant meal at Ottimo, or the quiet indulgence of afternoon tea beneath the Kupola Lounge’s striking dome, each setting invites you to linger a little longer. There is no rush here. No sense of needing to move on.

SPOTLIGHT

Just time, stretching in the most subtle way.

Positioned just moments from the Danube and St. Stephen’s Basilica, the palace offers immediate access to the city. Yet, interestingly, it often feels like a destination in its own right.

Because sometimes, the most memorable part of a trip isn’t what you see.

It’s how a place makes you feel while you’re there.

And at Al Habtoor Palace Budapest, that feeling is one of quiet grandeur, effortless comfort, and the rare luxury of not needing to rush at all.

SPOTLIGHT

REST BEFORE THE RUSH: EUROPE’S SOFTER SIDE OF SUMMER

At some point during summer, it catches up with you.

Not immediately. Not in a dramatic way. But somewhere between the travel, the movement, the long days in the sun and easy evenings, you feel it.

A kind of quiet tiredness.

Not from doing too much, necessarily. But from being “on” the entire time.

Because even the best seasons carry a certain momentum.

You’re walking more. Taking more in. Experiencing more than you normally would.

And eventually, without really planning for it, you reach a moment where you don’t want more.

You just want to pause.

WHEN THE PACE STOPS WORKING

It usually starts small. You take longer to get ready in the morning. You hesitate before heading out. You consider skipping something you thought you’d do.

Not because the place isn’t worth seeing, but because you don’t feel like moving at that speed anymore.

And that’s the shift people don’t talk about enough.

The moment where the season (and the trip) stops being about discovery, and starts asking for something else.

Something softer. Something quieter. Something that lets you reset, without stepping away from the experience entirely.

THE KIND OF PLACES THAT MAKE THAT EASY

This is where certain spaces matter more than others.

Not the ones that demand your attention, but the ones that allow you to step back without feeling like you’re missing out.

In the centre of Gothenburg, Hagabadet Drottningtorget does exactly that.

From the outside, the city continues as it always does.

But inside, the pace changes almost immediately.

There’s warmth. Stillness. A quiet sense of separation from everything happening beyond its walls.

You don’t need to commit to a full reset. You don’t need to structure your time.

You can move between spaces freely, water, heat, stillness, movement, without overthinking what comes next.

It’s the kind of place where even sitting still for a while starts to feel like enough.

And somewhere in that stillness, you realise you needed it more than you expected.

WHEN REST BECOMES THE PLAN

Sometimes, that pause becomes more intentional.

Not a full stop.

But a decision to give yourself a few hours, or even a full day, that isn’t about doing anything at all.

At Hébe Spa, that shift feels natural. Everything about the space supports it.

The layout encourages you to slow down.

The transitions between environments happen gradually.

There’s no pressure to follow a sequence or optimise your time.

You move because you feel like it. You stop when you want to.

Drawing on Mediterranean traditions alongside contemporary techniques, the experience is immersive without ever feeling structured.

Instead, it gives you space to settle.

To stay a little longer. To let your mind catch up with where you are.

And often, that’s when the trip starts to feel different again.

WHY THIS MOMENT MATTERS

It’s easy to overlook this part of a trip.

It doesn’t photograph as well. It doesn’t feel as productive. It doesn’t add to the list of things you’ve done.

But it changes everything that comes after.

Because once you’ve paused, properly paused, you return differently.

Less rushed. Less concerned with fitting everything in. More present in the moments you do choose.

And suddenly, the experience feels less like something you’re trying to keep up with…

…and more like something you’re actually in.

BEFORE YOU GO BACK

Because eventually, you will.

Back to routine. Back to structure. Back to days that move a little faster than you’d like.

And this trip, this version of it, will end.

But how you leave it matters.

You can rush through it, trying to see everything before it’s over.

Or you can take a moment within it to stop, reset, and let the experience settle before moving on.

Not as an escape. Not as a luxury.

But as something necessary.

A DIFFERENT WAY TO FINISH THE TRIP

So if you feel it, that moment where your energy dips, where the pace no longer fits, don’t push past it.

Lean into it.

Find a space that allows you to slow down without stepping away completely.

Give yourself time to sit still. To switch off. To breathe, without needing to fill the silence.

Because sometimes, the best way to hold onto a trip a little longer…

…is to stop moving through it so quickly.

And just be there for a while.

SPOTLIGHT

HOTEL AM KONZERTHAUS VIENNA –MGALLERY

WHERE CULTURE, CALM, AND CONSCIOUS LIVING

MEET

Some cities carry a certain rhythm.

Vienna is one of them.

It’s found in the music, the architecture, the quiet elegance of its streets. A sense of culture that doesn’t demand attention, but surrounds you gently as you move through it.

And within this setting, Hotel am Konzerthaus Vienna – MGallery offers a way to experience the city that feels both connected and calm.

From the moment you arrive, there is a noticeable sense of balance.

The hotel draws inspiration from Vienna’s artistic heritage, shaped by nearby icons like the

Vienna Konzerthaus and the State Opera. But rather than feeling traditional or overly formal, the space has been reimagined with a lighter, more contemporary touch.

Design feels thoughtful. Considered. Purposeful. It reflects the city’s history without being defined by it.

There is also a quiet commitment running beneath it all. One that shapes the experience without ever overwhelming it.

Sustainability here is not a statement. It’s integrated into the way the hotel operates, into the materials, the details, and the overall philosophy of conscious living. It’s something you feel, rather

than something that is announced.

And that subtlety makes all the difference.

The atmosphere throughout the hotel encourages a slower pace.

Not in a way that removes you from the city, but in a way that allows you to experience it more comfortably. Mornings feel unhurried. Evenings feel open-ended. There’s a sense that you can move through your stay without needing to structure every moment.

Dining spaces follow that same approach. Refined, yet relaxed. Places where you can sit a little longer than intended, whether for breakfast that turns into late morning or a drink that extends into

SPOTLIGHT

the evening.

It’s not about formality.

It’s about ease.

Positioned in the heart of Vienna, the hotel offers immediate access to the city’s cultural landmarks. But much like the city itself, it doesn’t rush you toward them.

Instead, it creates a space where you can take your time.

Because sometimes, the most memorable way to experience a destination like Vienna isn’t to see everything at once.

It’s to settle into its rhythm.

To move with it, rather than against it.

And to leave feeling like you didn’t just visit the city, but experienced it in a way that felt entirely your own.

SPOTLIGHT

LONG LUNCHES & LATE NIGHTS: EATING YOUR WAY THROUGH SUMMER

Something we can all attest to is that there’s a certain point in summer where meals stop being just meals.

They stretch.

What starts as a quick lunch turns into a second bottle of wine. Dinner doesn’t have a clear beginning or an end.

Plans shift. Tables fill. Time slips.

And suddenly, eating becomes the thing you remember most.

Not what you ordered. But how long you stayed.

WHEN TIME STOPS MATTERING

It rarely starts with intention.

You sit down thinking it’s just a break in the day.

Something simple. Something quick.

But summer doesn’t really work like that.

A coffee turns into something to eat. Something to eat turns into another drink. And before you realise it, the afternoon has disappeared entirely.

No one rushes you. No one expects you to leave.

And for once, you don’t feel like you have somewhere else to be.

That’s the difference.

Dining, at this time of year, isn’t scheduled. It unfolds.

THE KIND OF PLACES YOU STAY LONGER THAN PLANNED

Some spaces make it easier to give in to that rhythm.

Not because they demand attention, but because they hold it quietly and naturally.

In Kraków, The Gavi Restaurant leans into a slower, more deliberate kind of dining.

It’s the kind of place you arrive at with intention, but not urgency.

The setting carries a certain weight. Art Deco interiors, a sense of occasion, a feeling that this meal might mean something.

But it never feels rigid.

Courses arrive with care, without interruption.

Conversation fills the spaces in between.

The menu draws from European culinary traditions, refined with subtle local influence. Each dish is considered not just in flavour, but in how it contributes to the overall experience.

And that’s what keeps you there.

Not just the food, but the atmosphere around it. The sense that there’s no reason to rush through any part of it.

So, you don’t.

WHERE ONE THING TURNS INTO ANOTHER

Elsewhere, the experience takes on a different energy.

Less structured. More fluid. The kind of place where you don’t need a reason to stay. You just do.

At Viseversa Restaurant, the rhythm feels open from the moment you arrive.

It’s all-day dining, but not in a functional sense. It allows the day to unfold however it wants to.

You might arrive mid-morning and stay into the afternoon. Or drop in for something light and find yourself ordering more.

The space is bright, easy, and social.

There’s movement, but never pressure.

Menus stretch across tastes and moods, offering everything from lighter options to more indulgent plates. It makes it easy to shift without needing to leave.

And that’s often what happens.

One thing leads to another. Another round. Another plate. Another conversation.

Until time feels less defined, and the day becomes something you move through slowly, without really keeping track.

THE MEALS YOU DIDN’T PLAN FOR

The best ones are rarely booked in advance. They happen in between.

Between plans. Between places. Between moments you thought would define the day.

You stop somewhere without overthinking it. You sit down without checking the time.

And somehow, those are the meals that stay with you.

Because they weren’t structured. They weren’t expected. They weren’t trying to be anything more than what they were.

And that’s exactly why they worked.

MORE THAN WHAT’S ON THE TABLE

It’s easy to talk about food in terms of taste, technique, and presentation.

But in summer, it’s rarely just about that.

It’s about where you’re sitting. Who you’re with. How the light changes as the hours pass.

It’s about conversations that stretch longer than they should.

The decision to order one more glass, even when you don’t need it.

The moment where you realise you’re not thinking about what comes next.

Because there is no next.

Not yet.

BEFORE THE SEASON MOVES ON

Eventually, the rhythm changes.

Meals become shorter.

Schedules return.

Days feel more structured again.

But for now, there’s still time.

Time to sit a little longer.

To order without overthinking.

To let a meal turn into an afternoon, or an evening into something that doesn’t end too early.

JUST ONE MORE

That’s usually how it ends.

Not with a final course.

But with a decision.

One more glass.

One more plate.

One more hour at the table.

Not because you need it.

But because you’re not quite ready to leave.

And maybe that’s what summer dining really is.

Not about what’s served.

But about how long you choose to stay.

DOING EUROPE DIFFERENTLY:

What Actually Works Right Now

Europe = busy cities, packed itineraries, long queues, and trying to see as much as possible in as little time as possible.

Sound familiar?

You land, drop your bags, and suddenly you are on a mission. One landmark to the next, quick lunch in between, maybe a museum if there is time, and before you know it, you are on a train to the next city doing it all over again.

It works. But it is also exhausting.

The good news is, Europe does not have to be done that way anymore.

If anything, it works a lot better when you approach it a little differently.

STAY LONGER IN ONE PLACE

The biggest shift you can make is also the simplest one.

Instead of trying to fit in three or four cities, pick one and stay a little longer.

You start to notice more. You find your rhythm. You stop planning every hour of your day and actually enjoy where you are. Mornings feel slower, evenings last longer, and you are not constantly thinking about what comes next.

Places like Orbi City Hotel make this easy. It is the kind of setting where you can settle in, enjoy the views, explore when you feel like it, and not feel rushed to move on.

You are not just visiting anymore, you are experiencing.

SKIP ONE “OBVIOUS” DESTINATION

This might sound risky, but it works.

Europe’s most famous cities will always be there. But swapping one of them for somewhere a little less expected can completely change your trip.

Destinations like Montenegro offer the same kind of beauty, just with more space and a slower pace. Staying somewhere like Maestral Resort & Casino gives you coastline, great weather, and a full experience without the constant crowds.

You spend less time waiting, less time navigating busy streets, and more time actually enjoying where you are.

It still feels like Europe. Just without the pressure to keep up.

PLAN AROUND ONE GOOD EXPERIENCE

Instead of building your trip around a list of places, try building it around one or two experiences.

It could be:

* A wellness break

* A food experience

* Time by the coast

* Or simply doing nothing for a few days

Spaces like Hébe Spa make it easy to slow things down and focus on actually relaxing. Not squeezing in a treatment between activities, but letting that experience shape your stay.

When you plan this way, everything else becomes more flexible. You are not rushing to fit things in, you are building your trip around something that actually matters to you.

CHOOSE HOTELS THAT FEEL EASY

Not every hotel needs to be over the top.

Sometimes the best stays are the ones that feel comfortable from the moment you arrive. Good location, thoughtful design, and a space you actually want to spend time in.

Hotels like Hotel am Konzerthaus ViennaMGallery get that balance right. You still get the

elegance of the city, but in a way that feels relaxed and easy to enjoy.

You are not just using the hotel as a place to sleep. It becomes part of the experience.

RETHINK HOW YOU MOVE AROUND

Getting from one place to another can easily become the most stressful part of your trip.

Early flights, tight connections, long transfers. It adds up quickly and takes away from the experience.

Slowing down your itinerary naturally makes this easier, but it also helps to be more intentional about how you move. Fewer stops, more direct routes, and giving yourself enough time between plans can make a big difference.

Sometimes the journey itself becomes part of the experience. And sometimes, it is just about making things a little less complicated.

Either way, it helps you enjoy the parts of the trip that actually matter.

LEAVE ROOM FOR NOTHING

This might be the hardest one.

You do not need to plan every moment.

Some of the best parts of a trip happen when you are not trying to make something happen. Sitting at a café a bit longer than planned, walking down a street you did not mean to take, or changing your plans completely because something else caught your attention.

Those are usually the moments you remember.

Europe is full of them. You just need to give yourself the space to find them.

SO, WHAT ACTUALLY WORKS?

Doing less, but doing it better.

Staying longer. Choosing carefully. Slowing things down just enough to enjoy it properly.

Europe has not changed. But the way you experience it can.

And once you do it this way, it is very hard to go back to rushing through it.
