Directional Optic

Lighting that Delivers

The Directional optic delivers high-performance illumination tailored for demanding outdoor environments— from parking lots to mixed vehiclepedestrian spaces and pedestrian spaces.

With outputs ranging from 500 to 8000 lumens across bollards, columns, and post-ups, it provides precise Types I-V distributions for maximum visibility and control.

An optional backlight shield and honeycomb louver enhance cut-off and comfort wherever needed.

Inspired from acoustic panel designs, the Directional’s textured plate reduces reflected light from bouncing upward.

The Directional optic has DarkSky Approved configurations, ensuring it adheres to responsible lighting practices that protect the night environment. Its precise optical control minimizes glare, reduces uplight, and focuses illumination exactly where it’s needed.

Type I Optics: CONCENTRATED FOR CLOSE RANGE TARGETS

Type I optics are designed for areas that require focused lighting directly beneath the lens, in order to minimize light spill through a narrow, precise distribution. This results in excellent spacing ratios and efficient coverage. These optics are well suited for passenger platforms as well as mixed cycling and pedestrian spaces.

Optimized for sidewalks, two-lane streets, cycle paths, pathways, and narrow overpasses, Type II optics provide elongated, targeted illumination exactly where it’s needed. Designed to enhance visibility and safety in compact urban spaces, this distribution ensures efficient light placement. Ideal for creating well-lit, pedestrian-friendly environments with precision and control.

This distribution ensures even illumination, reducing dark spots while maintaining energy efficiency and optimal light placement. Ideal for urban and recreational environments, Type III optics create safer, more inviting spaces for both pedestrians and vehicles.

This precision-focused design enhances visibility and safety in spaces where both pedestrian and vehicle traffic intersect. With optimized light placement, Type IV optics create well-lit, functional environments that balance performance, efficiency, and comfort.

Type VS Optics: UNIFORM

Designed for large parking lots, plazas, and open public areas, Type VS optics produce a uniform 360-degree light distribution that effectively illuminates spaces from a central location. The square beam pattern enhances spacing performance by minimizing overlap and maximizing useful light coverage. Type VS optics help create comfortable, well-lit environments in active shared spaces.

Lumenalta’s groundbreaking Invisio™ optic brings a new level of visual comfort to pedestrian-scale lighting, using a patented faceted light guide that hides the source and delivers exceptional uniformity.

The new-to-market design features a matte black reflector that minimizes surface brightness and keeps uplight to a minimum, with virtually no impact on distribution performance.

Available from 250 to 8000 lumens within symmetric or asymmetric distributions and an optional Asymmetric Shield accessory, Invisio is the perfect balance between comfort and performance.

An organically inspired shape softens the presence of the Invisio optic, allowing it to integrate seamlessly into human-scaled environments.
