Keene
Par 4, Yards 342, SI 14
The first few holes are a chance for limbering up, just make sure you don’t drop one or two shots on these easy holes or you’ll struggle on the rest! With two fairways bunkers around driving distance from the tee it’s important that you thread your drive straight down the middle or lay up short enough not to worry about them. You will then be faced with a straightforward short iron shot into the first hole and a
good chance for a birdie.
Woodpecker
Par 4, Yards 369, SI 6
The second of the easy start holes. This hole will require you to hit it down the left side to avoid the beastly 50 yard bunker shot, one of the hardest in golf. Once you’ve avoided this little beauty you will be plain sailing with another good chance of a birdie.
Hawk
Par 4, Yards 349, SI 10
The last of the easy holes to start with, if you’re not level par now is the time to make a birdie before it gets tricky. This straight forward par 4 offers a great chance to make a birdie, with a good drive up the middle of the fairway you’ll be looking at a wedge into a small green and leave yourself with a great chance for birdie.
Kestrel
Par 3, Yards 176, SI 18
A windy Par 3, you can rarely play this hole when the weather is still and with a small landing area it makes it tricky to get close to the flag. Make sure you avoid the bunker and ditches and you could have a chance to pick up a sneaky birdie.
Crow’s Nest
Par 3, Yards 206, SI 4
A very tough par 3 straight uphill to a blind green that’s guarded by a bunker on either side and steep run-off areas that can send it back to your feet. Make sure you finish long or you will have a bind chip up a slop that is faster than most greens and could make you look stupid.
Chiff Chaff
Par 4, Yards 416, SI 8
A tough par 4 dogleg around a large plantation of trees, you will need to place your tee shot far enough around the dogleg to get a view of the green without going into the trees and avoiding the ditch. Once you’ve threaded one down there you will be left with a mid to long iron into the green and it’s another steep slope to the green that can make you think you’ve made it on there only to watch it trickle off.
M5
Par 5, Yards 506, SI 12
This is a straight forward par 5 if you can keep it straight all the way down the righthand side is out of bounds so beware. If you’re a big hitter and the weather is on your side you can get here in two but beware the two greenside bunkers on either side of the front portion of the green can destroy your chances of a birdie.
Reload Ridge
Par 5, Yards 553, SI 2
Another par 5, however this one is much longer, meaner and trickier than the last. You will need to keep your drive down the left side but not too far left as you will block yourself out for the second shot, you need to avoid the right side as it once again holds out of bounds in store for you. Ideally, place your second shot in the right side of the fairway which will open up the green and leave you with a wedge into a chance for birdie.
Seymour’s
Par 3, Yards 174, SI 16
A tricky hole that can wreck your chances of a good finish, please make sure you keep the tee shot towards the left side and don’t go long otherwise a tricky return shot can make a good 9 holes bad.
Founders First
Par 5, Yards 492, SI 5
This looks from the tee like you’ve got a stamp to land it on but there’s more room behind the ‘tiger line’ than it looks. Avoid hitting it too far left as that can lead to another ball out of bounds, you will need to keep it straight and avoid the temptation to hit the second shot as hard as you can because it’s easy to either go into the bunker or worse. Once you’ve
made it past this point you will be faced with a wedge into a tough two-tier green, if the flags on the top your chances of making birdie go from 40% down to 15% straight away so don’t get too cute.
Rock
Par 3, Yards 251, SI 11
The second-longest par 3 in the country, don’t ask where the first is because I’m yet to find one longer! This beastly
hole is straightforward because it’s the biggest defence is it’s length, don’t be fooled however because if you’re not careful you could get caught out by the upturned saucer green.
Buzzard
Par 4, Yards 425, SI 1
A very tough par 4 straight uphill all the way with not let off, not many can get here in two unless the weather is on your side so if you can walk off with a 4 or 5 count yourself very lucky. The only thing to avoid on this hole is the bunker on the left side of the green, apart from that hit it as hard as you can.
Cheese-Roller
Par 5, Yards 523, SI 13
A downhill par 5 that gives you a chance to make a birdie if you use your head. You need to keep your tee shot as close to the tree line on your right-hand side as you can, this will give you the shortest angle to have a go at the green in two. The sensible golfer, however, will lay up with the second shot just short of the water, this will leave you a wedge into a
green that gives you a chance to make birdie… Just don’t belong or short!.
The Forester
Par 4, Yards 376, SI 3
Probably the signature hole of the golf course. A very tight tee shot between a massive oak tree and out of bounds, so ideally you need to thread one straight down the middle between the two trees you can see in your view. Once you’ve
negotiated the tee shot you will have a second shot of a mid to long iron into the green which will be a tough one to make par on so hold onto your hat.
Cathedral View
Par 4, Yards 326, SI 7
A par 4 across the very top of the course where you can take it easy with the tee shot, just keep it left, then you can enjoy the view of the cathedral and the city
before you second shot. The second shot will need to be yardage spot on as if you go long on this hole you can kiss goodbye to par, with a bunker front left and a bunker rear right you will need to pinpoint the best place to land.
Church Drop
Par 3, Yards 146, SI 15
A beautiful view of the church in the background but don’t let that distract
you one bit. A short iron shot will be what you need here, don’t land short and don’t go long or you’ll find a ditch, accuracy is key to par or better.
Henry’s
Par 4, Yards 320, SI 9
A very tight tee shot for this par 4 with out of bounds all down the left side and a massive oak tree on your right you can either blast over the top of the oak tree or hit an iron short of it and try to run it underneath. Once you’ve negotiated the large oak tree on the right side you should have a short iron into one of the smallest greens on the course, if you hit
the green you will have a good chance to make a birdie.
Arnies
Par 3, Yards 121, SI 17
Probably one of the easiest finishing holes in golf, all you’ve got to do is hit it easy and make sure you hit the green. Once on the green, you will be faced with a challenging putt to try and make birdie and become a clubhouse hero.

Rodway Hill Golf Course has a Covered Driving Range allowing you to warm up your swing prior to starting a round in any weather or fine tuning your divots in the summer.

We also have a practice green, bunker area and chipping area so you can practice your short game too before or after your round.

The Grass Driving Range enables you to feel the club and turf contact during the summer, however in Winter its more about keeping your swing going in those horrible winters so we have a covered driving range to keep your practice and golf lessons under cover.
