About The Course
The Notleys is a 6,116yd par 71 course set in the tranquil valley of the river Brain. The layout affords magnificent views of the surrounding Essex countryside, as well as many panoramic views of the course.
The Course offers a fair challenge to both experienced golfers and beginners alike, with a warm welcome awaiting all visitors.
Course Tour
Hole 1
Downhill tee shot to the river and then an uphill climb to the raised green. Out of bounds to the left and a ditch and trees to the right. Although over 300 yards to the river, in summer long hitters need to be wary of the downhill run.
Hole 2
Uphill through a narrow gap in the trees and crossing the river twice, a long and challenging par 3.
Hole 3
A risk and reward hole if you are willing to take on the corner. OOB on the left down to the river and dense trees waiting to catch the over hit tee shot on the right.

Another uphill shot between the trees and over the river.
Hole 5
Statistically the hardest hole on the course. Around 170 yards to the river and a narrow gap between tall trees. The second shot is uphill to a well-protected raised green.
Hole 6
A long par 4 from the white tees with OOB down the left-hand side. A much more modest hole from the other tees.

Hole 7
Slightly downhill tee shot where the front of the green hides over the brow of the hill. OOB left and three bunkers to contend with.
Hole 8
The elevated tee looks across the valley, with a carry or around 170 -180 yards to clear the river. Good players will place a tee shot to the left leaving a realistic shot into the green. Many however, daunted by the river, choose to lay up and settle for 3 shots to the green. Accuracy and distance are key to this hole. Much trouble awaits the wayward shot.
Hole 9
A straightforward par 4 with OOB left and trees to the right. The fairway dips before the green and the ground slopes away to the right of the green.
Course Tour

Elevated tee to an uphill fairway and a raised green. The river is not far away but the trees will catch the wayward tee shot.
Hole 11
A golfing roller coaster. The tee shot is over a slight rise and then drops down to a ditch, before a steep uphill approach to the green.
Hole 12
A long dogleg par 4 requiring a well-placed tee shot to give any chance of negotiating the narrow approach to the green. OOB left. If you go OOB right, although internal, you are unlikely to see it again!

Hole 13
A long par 3 from the white and yellow tees. The tee shot must negotiate a gap in the trees to be safe. The red and blue tees are much more manageable providing you miss the trees!
Hole 14
This hole has been extended on the white tees and is now a par 5. Other tees remain par 4. Consistently stroke index 2 on statistics as a par 4. It remains to be seen how it plays out as a par 5. With around a 260 carry from the tee, the ditch may be a deciding factor. The two-tier green is well protected by bunkers and the pond to the right.
Hole 15
The shortest and statistically easiest hole on the course. The tee shot still needs to negotiate the ponds, trees and bushes which protect the front of the green.
Hole 16
From the white tees, the tee shot is over a pond and bushes to a raised fairway which levels out at around 200 yards. The yellow, red and blue tees have been moved to a new elevated position around 50 yards nearer to the green.
Hole 17
A short par 4, out of bounds to the right. The green is blind from the tee and the ground slopes to the left along its length.
Hole 18
The fairway drops into the valley and crosses the river before a
long climb to the raised green. Long hitters can clear the river but very few try. With OOB both left and right once over the water, accuracy is key to this hole and any overhit approach to the raised green can leave you OOB, assuming you miss the pond and bunker.

Our function room is available for corporate events for up to 120 people. It is suitable for meetings, conferences, exhibitions and team building events. You may wish to combine your day with a breakout session on our pitch and putt / footgolf course, or even round off your day with a game of golf – an ideal way to entertain your clients.
We can arrange a layout to suit your needs with free WIFI and; at extra cost, a sound system and projector facilities.

The Notleys footgolf course is built on a significantly modified and lengthened 9 hole pitch and putt course.
The course benefits from a clubhouse with function room, making this an ideal corporate team building activity.
Footballs are available to hire but other than that, it is simple to turn up and play. No fancy clothing is required, just a desire to have fun and learn a new skill. Remember, the rules of footgolf are nice and simple – who can get the ball in the hole with as few kicks as possible!
Young and old will find it entertaining but challenging in equal measure, and -as it

can be enjoyed in small groups – it is the ideal family activity or jaunt with friends.
