Welcome to Buckingham Golf Club. Established in 1914, our course offers a beautiful 18-hole PAR71 Championship Golf Course and Clubhouse with outstanding views over the Buckinghamshire countryside.
The course is accompanied by a vibrant and welcoming clubhouse with a balcony overlooking the 18th hole and putting and practice areas. With these striking views, the Clubhouse is a stunning location for a postround drink and private functions.

The Course
Buckingham Golf Club offers an 18-hole, Par 71 mature parkland course, which is a fair but challenging test to golfers of all abilities.
In 2004, all 18 greens were rebuilt to USGA specification, enabling all-year-round play. We can now boast some of the best-putting surfaces in the region. The Great Ouse and Dudley Brook rivers come into play on nine holes. Most of the holes are treelined, and all but one green is guarded by bunkers.
The course has many challenges, with the front nine possessing two of the three par 5s and the signature par 3 fourth hole in the middle of the shallow valley that carves through four of the holes in the front nine. The ninth brings you back to the clubhouse, with the tenth hole sending you back out and down to the far end of the boundary line.
With short but testing par 4’s, risk and reward is very much in play off the tee. The back nine holes parallel one another from the thirteenth before a challenging finish down the long par 4 seventeenth and up the picturesque eighteenth back towards the clubhouse.
The practice areas, including a state-ofthe-art Swing Studio, support the course and provide facilities for improving your short game, long drives, and putting.
As part of the long-term development plan for the course, several key programmes have been identified as required and are underway to improve the course further. In recent times, this has included installing a new irrigation system and working to relocate power lines to enhance the 10th hole.
Our beautiful countryside location provides a perfect home for an abundance of wildlife, including Squirrels, Rabbits, Kingfishers, Muntjacs, Pheasants, Red Kites and many more.
Course Guide

A challenging opening hole that offers the choice of laying up short of the stream or taking the driver to clear the water. The second shot is an uphill approach to the green that is surrounded by a bunker on the front right.
Hole 2
This long par four requires a drive towards the two oak trees at the top of the hill. When approaching the green, beware of the two large bunkers on the right that lie in wait to collect any miss-hit shots.

An easy tee shot straight down the middle is followed by a second shot that should be hit to the right side of the fairway to open up the right-to-left sloping green for the third shot.
Hole 4
A tough par three, requiring a very accurate shot to clear the stream before finding a large green surrounded by six bunkers.
Hole 5
For the longer hitters, a drive might reach the well-guarded green. For shorter hitters, aim a little right and play from the bowl.
Hole 6
This par four requires an accurate drive sticking to the right to avoid the woods on the left. Hit long with your approach shot to avoid mistakes on the two-tiered backto-front slope in green.

Play your tee shot to the left side of the fairway. Your second shot should fall just short of the fairway bunker. The third shot should make it to the green. However, beware of the bunker guarding the front right of the putting surface.
Hole 8
This tee shot plays longer than it looks and, therefore, requires an accurate shot to the long green. Beware of the bunker to the left.
Hole 9
This uphill par four requires a drive to the right-hand side of the fairway. For the second shot, use enough club as the green is elevated and plays longer than it looks. Stick to the right to avoid the two bunkers guarding the green.
Hole 10
Accuracy is essential on this hole, with out-of-bounds to the right and a stream through the middle of the fairway. Keep your drive to the left-hand side, leaving a mid to long iron shot to reach the green guarded by two bunkers.
Hole 11
This par five requires a long drive down the left-hand side to avoid the fairway bunker on the right. Your second shot should fall short of the left-hand fairway bunker, leaving a short iron shot onto the green.
Hole 12
With a stroke index of 18, this hole is rated as the easiest on the course. A straight shot should easily reach the green. However, with two bunkers and three brooks surrounding the putting surface, any miss-hit shots could be in danger.

Hole 13
A good tee shot is the key to success on this course. Aim for the middle of the fairway, and this will leave a short iron to reach the green, which is guarded by a stream on the right-hand side of the putting surface and the river to the left and beyond the green.
Hole 14
Hit your tee shot to the right side of the fairway to avoid the left-hand bunker. This will allow a straightforward approach shot to the back-to-front sloping green, which is guarded by a large bunker at the front left.
Hole 15
This hole requires more club than it looks, so accuracy is essential. Beware the two large bunkers guarding the front of the green.
Hole 16
This par four requires a drive down the left-hand side of the fairway, avoiding the fairway bunker on the right. An accurate tee shot opens the green for the second shot to the large screen surrounded by three bunkers.
Hole 17
The second-hardest hole on the course,
this dog-leg par four, requires a drive down the right-hand side of the fairway towards the group of large trees. Aim your second shot again to the right-hand side of the green to avoid the two bunkers.
Hole 18
With the clubhouse in site, this par four requires a tee shot straight down the middle of the fairway to set up your second shot. Ensure you use enough club on the approach shot, as this hole plays longer than it first looks. Make sure to be accurate on the approach to reach the uphill green and avoid the bunkers on either side.

The pro shop is located on the ground floor of the Clubhouse, just off the 18th green. The Club Professional at Buckingham Golf Club is Greg Hannah, who is supported by a team of professionals dedicated to helping you enjoy better golf. The Pro Shop offers an extensive range of services in the Golf Studio equipped with the GC Quad Launch Monitor, from one-to-one coaching to enjoyable custom-fitting experiences.
Within the shop, you will find a wide variety of clothing and accessories for men, women, and juniors, alongside equipment such as balls, bags, clubs, and shoes. For society and corporate days, the Pro Shop can offer a range of items to enhance your golf day, such as goody bags and prizes.
Greg and his team are on hand to offer impartial advice in all aspects of golf and retail. A team member will gladly assist you if you’re looking for a sleeve of balls for your game or a new set of clubs.

Practice Facilities
The Club have invested into the range by upgrading to include TopTracer technology.
This offers a variety of interactive courses to play ranging from St Andrews to Royal Birkdale to Kiawah Island and a host more.
In addition to the standard Long Drive or Nearest the Pin challenges there is a fully constructive training programme allowing users to hone there game either at Buckingham Golf Club or any other Top Tracer range in the world. In addition to fully maximise your potential it can sync with our coaching programme on offer whilst engaging with the next generation of young golfers through fun interactive games such as Angry Birds or Go Fish.
It’s a great facility to enjoy with friends and family and fully enhances the practice facilities on offer at the Club.’
Practice Facilities
Our 10-bay covered driving range provides excellent facilities for all levels from beginners to the experienced golfer. High-quality balls are constantly replaced to ensure they provide the best for our golfers.
On the range there are 100, 150, and 200-yard targets and chipping nets, so you can practice with all the clubs in your bag to hone your game. There is also a practice green to chip towards which has two bunkers close by.
If you are looking for a pre round warm-up, we have practice Nets and a 9-hole putting green for a final tune-up before starting your round. We have invested in a new indoor Swing Studio, conveniently located next to the professional shop, where a GC3 Simulator with Launch Monitor has been installed.
The swing studio can be used for tuition by the Professional team by measuring and analysing several vital statistics, which can be used to guide you towards the perfect technique.

Getting Into Golf
Buckingham Golf Club offers tuition for all levels of ability; several options are available, including individual and group lessons or a special academy membership. Lessons can be taken on the range or in our state-of-the-art Swing Studio. Our professional runs the following regular sessions:
• Group lessons twice weekly for anyone to join in
• Seniors group lesson on a Tuesday morning from 9-10 am
• Junior lessons can be booked by contacting the Pro Shop on 01280 815566, option 2.
The Academy Membership is specifically designed to help golfers improve at their own pace with tuition on the range and use of the course for 4 holes. This membership is aimed at beginners or anyone resuming golf who wants to progress to being able to play on the course and becoming a member of Buckingham Golf Club.
The tuition will cover all aspects of the game, including driving, irons, and the short game, including pitching, chipping, bunker play, and putting. It will also involve playing the course and course management.
A new 9-hole academy membership category has been introduced to facilitate a smoother transition for participants from academy-level to full membership. This initiative addresses the needs of those in the early stages of their golf journey and provides a clear pathway for their progression within the club. The introduction of the academy 9-hole category demonstrates a commitment to supporting the growth and development of its members at every stage of their journey.

Junior Golf
Buckingham Golf Club is an England Junior Golf Hub venue and we take pride in our ever-growing junior section, which our junior golf organiser runs with our club professionals and several volunteers. We offer the chance to have fun, learn and play golf in a safe and enjoyable environment.
Our juniors can use our clubhouse, practice facilities, simulator, and main golf course (subject to ability and handicap). Junior members are also able to play at our reciprocal courses and play in junior and senior competitions, and inter-club matches.
Juniors can also apply for a Members Bar Card, which can be used to purchase soft drinks, food from the bar and goods from the Pro Shop, enabling cashless payments.
We welcome all standards of player and are passionate in developing them as we believe them to be the future of our club. Juniors also have access to excellent coaching support through our professional team, lessons can be booked by contacting the Pro Shop on 01280 815566, option 2.
As a club, we operate an outreach golf program with the support of the Golf Foundation and local primary and secondary schools. The program offers free taster
sessions to introduce children to golf at Buckingham Golf Club.
Buckingham Golf Club has become a recognised host venue for the BB &O Talent Development Program for Juniors, further supporting Junior golf at the club and in the local area.

Our restaurant area within the clubhouse provides an excellent space for your function, whether that be for a private party, formal dinner, or a buffet-style meal, we promise to deliver high levels of comfort in a relaxing setting. In addition to our restaurant area, we have a spacious bar and lounge area that offers further seating for that refreshing post round drink and bite to eat. All of our food is prepared fresh on site from the finest local produce and served by our friendly staff.

History
In September 1914, four local gentlemen formed Buckingham Golf Club Limited as 9-hole course. In the early 1920’s, the Limited Company was dissolved, and Buckingham became a Members’ Club as it is today.
In 1927, a clubhouse was built with the majority of it being used until 1978 when the new clubhouse was opened. It was also in the 1970’s where the course was extended to 18-holes.
In the 1980’s, further land was purchased, and the clubhouse was extended to accommodate a Bar, Dining area, Changing rooms, Professional’s shop and General Manager’s Office. A practice ground and new facilities for the Course Manager and machinery were also added.
In 2004, the Club replaced all 18 greens with new greens built to USGA specifications and we also extended two holes and rebuilt all the bunkers on the course.
In 2014, in conjunction with the Markham Trust we opened a 10-bay covered driving range which offers an excellent practice area for members and for our Club Professional to run coaching sessions in comfort. This was also the year that we celebrated our centenary, marking 100 years of the club’s existence.
In 2021, a new Irrigation System was installed to offer a quality golf course with excellent greens, providing a good test of golf throughout the year.
In 2024, Buckingham Golf Club has thriving playing sections across men’s, ladies, mixed, seniors and juniors and a comprehensive programme of competitions throughout the playing season.

Directions
From the M40 Northbound - exit at Junction 10 onto the A43. Head straight on before turning right onto A421. Continue along this road for around 7 miles until you reach Tingewick road. The entrance to the Club car park is on the left-hand side of the road.
From A5 Southbound - Drive southbound through Milton Keynes centre before taking a right turn just after the National Bowl onto the A421. Continue along the A421 for around 12 miles until you reach Tingewick
road. The entrance to the Club car park is on the right-hand side of the road.
Public Transport
The nearest railway station is Bicester North or Bicester Village, both are around 9 miles away, or a 15 minute taxi ride away. There are usually 3 trains an hour departing from central London with an estimated journey time of between 50-60 minutes.
