The Boldmere St Michaels Men’s Team, affectionately known as “The Mikes”, is the proud senior men’s side of Boldmere St Michaels Football Club. With roots stretching back over 140 years, the Men’s Team embodies the club’s enduring spirit of ambition, resilience, and community pride.
Today, the Men’s First Team competes in the Pitching In Northern Premier League Division One Midlands, part of Step 4 of the English football pyramid. This level reflects the team’s progress through the non-league system and its competitive edge in regional football.
Led by a dedicated coaching staff, the squad brings together experienced campaigners and

The team’s recent journey has been marked by growth and achievement. A strong performance in the 2021-22 season saw The Mikes finish as runnersup in the Midland League Premier Division and secure promotion to the Northern Premier League via the play-offs; a significant milestone in the club’s modern era.

Boldmere St Michaels Women’s First Team proudly represents one of the most exciting and rapidly evolving sides in the women’s game. Having been established in 1997, the team joined the Boldmere St Michaels family through a successful partnership and rebrand that has strengthened the club’s ambition and support structure.
Today, the Women’s First Team competes in the FA Women’s National League Northern Division One, a highly competitive league that sits at the fourth tier of women’s football in England. Led by a committed coaching team and passionate players, the Women’s First Team blends experience with young talent to deliver exciting, attacking football. Home fixtures at The Amber Arena & Community Stadium offer supporters an engaging matchday experience, fuelled by a growing fan base and a strong sense of community pride.
Over recent seasons, the squad has shown both resilience and promise, competing with determination in league and cup competitions while continuing to raise its profile in the women’s game. Their presence at this level not only enhances the club’s broad footballing offering but also provides a powerful pathway for female players coming through Boldmere St Michaels’ development structure.

Boldmere St Michaels Juniors form the heart of the club’s future; nurturing young players, fostering a love for the game, and developing tomorrow’s football stars. Our junior programme is built on a foundation of enjoyment, encouragement, and high-quality coaching, providing boys and girls of all abilities with the chance to learn, improve, and thrive in a positive football environment. Our junior section boasts more than 60 teams, with more than 700 registered players, playing in various leagues across the Midlands.
From our youngest introductory groups through to competitive youth squads, our junior teams offer age-appropriate training and match experiences that focus on technical skills, teamwork, confidence, and sportsmanship. Supported by FA-qualified coaches and club

volunteers, players benefit from structured sessions that emphasise fun, progression, and respect, both on and off the pitch.

Boldmere St. Michaels Football Club is one of the most established and historic SemiProfessional Football Clubs in the North Birmingham area, with a coveted history within youth football with many players moving through the football non-league and league tiers.
Following our success in the Midland Floodlit Youth League, Boldmere St. Michaels FC Football Academy was developed as a joint partnership between BMet and the Football Club. It utilises our excellent Church Road playing facilities as well as the Classrooms and Sports Facilities at Sutton Coldfield College. This bespoke programme has ensured that the Footballer Scholar has all the facilities and equipment to excel on both the academic and football pathways.
All scholars on the Boldmere St. Michaels FC Football Academy
will enrol on a Programme of Study which is aligned to their Qualifications on Entry. Scholars will have 10-14 hours of Football Specific Training and Match play combined with Tutorial, Purposeful Work Experience, Maths* or English* (Subject to QoE) alongside their selected Academic Pathway; players can select from a range of college courses, not just limited to Sport. However, in some curriculum areas, there may well be a limit on how many coaching sessions can be attended each week due to curriculum overlap.
Delivery will be split between Sutton Coldfield College and Boldmere St.Michaels FC. This will normally be in Morning or Afternoon blocks in order to minimise the travel between the college and the club.
FOOTBALL ACADEMY
The Programme of study utilises our ‘state of the art’ 3G artificial pitch for the practical elements of the programme, whereas the College has the IT and Specialist Fitness, Massage and Classroom Resources for many of the taught units. Assessment will be varied and will include a portfolio of practical activities, case studies, projects, reports, presentations and written presentation. In addition, scholars will have externally-assessed work identified in the chosen pathway.
What makes the Boldmere St. Michaels and BMet programme so unique are not only the range of course levels and options available to students, but also the varied timetable which includes academic learning being delivered on campus at Sutton Coldfield College, paired with football training at Boldmere St. Michaels’ state-of-the-art facilities. Scholars are able to train and play

without disruption, due to the all-weather pitch and fantastic changing facilities available at our football club.
