WELCOME
Here at AFC Rushden & Diamonds, we are a fan-owned, volunteer-run semi-professional football club proudly based in Northamptonshire. The Club was established in 2011 by dedicated supporters following the demise of Rushden & Diamonds, ensuring that football in the local community would continue to thrive. We represent the towns of Rushden and Irthlingborough, whose footballing histories became intertwined with the amalgamation of Rushden Town F.C. and Irthlingborough Diamonds F.C. in 1992. Today, the two towns together are home to more than 40,000 people and form part of the North Northamptonshire district, alongside major neighbouring centres including Northampton, Corby, Kettering and Wellingborough. We play at Hayden Road Sports Stadium in Rushden, close to our historic roots in both towns and just five minutes from Rushden Lakes. Our long-term ambition is to reach the fifth tier of English football in a sustainable and responsible manner, building strong, lasting partnerships with local and national businesses along the way. Beyond results on the pitch, we are committed to providing football as a vehicle for social inclusion across our community. We create clear pathways and meaningful opportunities for people of all ages, regardless of gender, ethnic background or sexuality. Today, almost 50 teams — involving almost 1000 children, young people and over-50s — regularly represent the Club wearing the AFC Rushden & Diamonds badge. This year also marks an important milestone, with the launch of our Women’s and Girls’ Academy pathway for the first time, strengthening our community presence further.

Our Board of Directors is made up of elected supporters, with elections held annually to ensure accountability and transparency. These individuals balance their roles at the Club alongside full-time careers, families and everyday responsibilities, dedicating their time and expertise for the good of the community. In addition, more than seventy volunteers currently give their time and energy to ensure the Club not only survives, but continues to grow and thrive. Our Men’s First Team attracts an average attendance of around 450 supporters, with home crowds ranging from 250 to 1,000. This places us among the best-supported clubs nationally at our level of football — a vital factor in maintaining long-term sustainability. Without external financial backing, we depend on the unwavering commitment of our supporters and the valued partnership of our sponsors to drive the Club forward.
