Use student discounts and loyalty cards
Freeze leftovers instead of wasting food

Transport in the UK can be expensive.
Use a student Oyster card or railcard Walk or cycle for short trips
Book train tickets a month ahead — most of the time, it will be cheaper
Avoid peak travel times if possible
