Over three thousand years ago, mankind invented what is now known as "money" to do several important things. Among them were to store value, and have a common way of transforming effort, profit, invention, or something of value, into a common, valuable, durable object that can be easily traded, without actually having materialistic objects in your possession.

Our school has been around since 1963. Pound's first principal was Harold Lantz. We have had four principals throughout the course of Pound's "life". As you should all know, our current principal is the infamous singing Dr. Chris Deibler. He has been serving as principal here for seven years. You might have seen him walking the halls, roaming around the cafeteria, or just mingling with the students.

Prices have definitely changed over the ,past forty years. Gas prices have skyrocketed, T.V.s, phones, even candy bars now cost more! Things that used to cost under a quarter, now cost up to two, or maybe even three dollars! Here are some comparisons of how much costs of certain items have changed over the last forty years.

Student Council

As all of you know, in the first semester of school year 2003, students, as well as teachers participated in a program called Step With It! Our goal was to walk (at minimum) ten thousand steps a day,for a week. We were only one of six schools to be chosen in the country and the only one to be chosen in the Lincoln Public Schools district to participate in this program.

The winning first period classes were, in 8th grade, Mrs. Wingrove's English class, in 7th, Mrs. Smith's Science class, and in 6th grade, Mrs. Harding's Language Arts class. Everyone worked hard to meet their goal everyday, and for the majority, everyone did!

Pound participated in a magazine sale.

In total we raised over $47,000. Prizes were given out like crazy including the coveted limo ride and pizza lunch. There were 107 kids that won this prize and participated in it.
