Maybe it's the reason we all come here. There's just something that pulls us all together. Something that makes us understand why we're all here. It's a fairness that makes us equal. There is some sort of unspoken agreement, a contract maybe, that prevents us from purposely attacking or hurting others between the walls of this school. We all sign that contract, but there is no paper and no pen. Just look at us. We are a collaboration of teenagers. Our experiences differ drastically from one to the other but we are all the same inside. We've all fought some terrific battle for ourselves and that gives us the ability to respect others who have done the same. We have worked so hard to get where we are. Way too hard to look back. This Universal Declaration of Human Rights as a common standard of achievement for all peoples and all nations, to the end that every individual and every organ of society, keeping this Declaration constantly in mind , shall strive by teaching and education to promote respect for these rights and freedoms and by progressive measures, national and international, to secure their universal and effective recognition and observance, both among the peoples of Member States themselves and among the peoples of territories under their jurisdiction .

5EED MURAL PROJECT Our seed mosaic mural was a collaborative effort between artist, Julia Noyes, Open Harvest.and the Wing C Bryan students. Julia helped students position their flower drawings onto two, 4' x 4' wood panels. After hand-coloring the seeds with acrylic paint, students filled in the flowers and background creating colorful mosaic panels. Students integrated this project with topics related to healthy lifestyles, food/human rights, and sustainable agriculture issues. After going on exhibit at Noyes Art Gallery in June, the mural will permanently hang inside Open Harvest. This mural project was funded in part by the Nebraska and Lincoln Arts Councils and Open Harvest(a Bryan VIP). We were proud to be asked to participate in this artistic experience. This year nine Bryan students had an opportunity to explore the art of photography with Glenn Trudel, a well-known photojournalist from Madison, Wisconsin. From September through December, Glenn's artist-in-residency was sponsored by Lincoln's University Art Place Center, the Photo Shoppe, and the Mid Attantic Arts Foundation. Through light, pattern, texture, symbolism, and evidence of life, we created images that reflected the places and people that help define segments of our community. With Glenn's guidance, we used our senses and our cameras to record our experiences and interpret our surroundings. We hope you enjoy viewing our photographs .
