Idina Menzel is a Tony Award–winning, powerh ou s e m u l t i-hy p h e n at e: a s i n ge r, a n a c t r e s s in f ilm a nd T V, a song w r it er, a Broa dway s t a r, a nd a phila nthropis t . Men zel wa s a mong the re cipient s of the 2023 Nat iona l Me da l of A r t s , the hig he s t awa rd g iven t o a r t is t s a nd a r t s pat rons by the fe dera l gover nment , pre sent e d by P re sident Joseph Biden .
Men zel rose t o fa me a s Maure en in the Broadway musical Rent, and her career took off when she won a Tony Awa rd for her role a s Elphaba in the sma sh musical Wicked. Her voice can be heard a s Elsa in Disney ’ s Frozen, including in the f ilm’s hit song “Let It Go,” which received the Oscar for Best Original Song and the Grammy Award for Best Song Writ ten for Visual Media . Menzel ’ s other f ilm credit s include Disney ’ s Enchanted, Net f li x ’ s You’re So Not Invited to My Bat Mit z vah, A 24’s Uncut Gems, and A ma zon St udios’s Cinderella. She also appeared in the recurring role of Shelby Corcoran on Fox’s Glee.
Menzel wa s prev iously seen on s t age in the or ig ina l produc t ion If/ Then, for which she earned her third Tony nomination. In 2025, she returned to Broadway to star in Redwood, which she co-conceived w ith Tina L andau. She received a Dis t ing uished Per for mance Award f rom the 2025 Drama Leag ue Awards for her per for mance.
A skillful song writer, Menzel ’ s prolific recording career includes multiple cast albums and char t-topping solo albums, including Still I Can’t Be Still, Here, I Stand, and idina.
Out side of music, stage, and screen, Menzel ha s also authored t wo books and relea sed a clothing line. In 2022, she relea sed the children’s pic t ure book Loud Mouse a lo n g s i d e h e r s i s t e r C a r a M e n t z e l , followe d by a s e qu e l , P r o u d Mo u s e, in 20 2 3 . A l s o in 2022, Menzel launched her QVC line, Encore, designed with the belief that “ ever y woman deser ves her own Encore.”
Philanthropy is also impor tant to Menzel. In 2010, she co-founded A BroaderWay Foundat ion, de dicat e d t o of fer ing g irls f rom under ser ve d communit ie s a n outle t for self-expression and creat iv it y through ar t s-centered programs. In 2014, Menzel wa s recognized in Variet y ’ s Power of Women for her work with the organizat ion.

Leading Broadway music director and conductor Andy Einhorn recently ser ved a s the music super v isor and music direc tor for the awardwinning revival of Gypsy starring Audra McDonald, whose original ca st album earned a Grammy nominat ion. O ther Broadway music super v ising and conduc t ing credit s include Hello, Dolly! (starring Bet te Midler) and Carousel (starring Renée Fleming ), which both earned Grammy nominat ions, a s well a s Holiday Inn, Brief Encounter, Bullets Over Broadway, Cinderella, and Sondheim on Sondheim.
Since 2011, Einhorn ha s ser ved a s music direc tor and pianist for the si x-t ime Tony Award–winner Audra McDonald, per forming both nat ionally and internat ionally with orchest ra s including The Cleveland Orchest ra , Sydney Sy mphony Orchest ra , and New York Philharmonic. They have recorded t wo albums together: Sing Happy and Go Back Home.
Einhorn’s T V work includes HBO’s Peabody Award–winning documentar y Six by Sondheim and Broadway Musicals: A Jewish Legacy for Great Per formances on PBS. In 2019, Einhorn conduc ted Bet te Midler and Marc Shaiman at the Academy Awards. He also music super v ised and appeared on camera for the Emmy Award–winning per formance of “Eat Sh*t Bob ” for HBO’s La st Week Tonight with John Oliver. Einhorn is on the faculties at The Juilliard School, Aspen Music Festival and School, and the Brevard Music Festival. He graduated summa cum laude from Rice Universit y.

Seven Music Directors
