Sacred Trails: August 4
Meet Pastor Ted on Tuesday at 8:00am at Heebner Park in Worcester. We will read an excerpt from Psalms and then enjoy God’s creation by either walking or jogging on the trail for the day. The walk/jog is a distance of your choice from 2-3 miles. If you plan to participate, sign up through the link in your weekly email or email Pastor Ted.
Tuesday Sandwich Making
Every Tuesday morning in August we prepare 350 sandwiches for Norristown’s homeless or food-insecure population. This allows the regular volunteers at the Bean Soup Kitchen to take a break from making the sandwiches for the bagged lunches. Sign up to help on the easel in the atrium or through the link in your weekly email. Thank you for supporting the Cecil and Grace Bean Soup Kitchen, one of LPPC’s Mission Partners.
Forteniter’s Picnic
LPPC will be serving dinner for the Forteniter’s Club on August 20th at 3:00pm. The Forteniter’s Club provides support and community to adults with mental illness. If you would like to be a host/hostess for this event, or bring food, please sign up in the atrium or through your weekly email. Backpack Collection Drive: Help a child start the school year ready to learn by donating to our annual Backpack Collection. Donations will be accepted through August 16 and will benefit Montgomery County HHS and Urban Promise. LPPC will provide the backpack and you simply choose an age group and fill it with the suggested school supplies. Adopt a Tree for the Cemetery - This spring, Session approved the purchase of 15 evergreen trees (White Pine & Norway Spruce) to be planted along the cemetery boundary beside the Maintain-ItAll property line. At a total cost of $3,000, these trees will create a natural visual buffer, screening the neighboring equipment and enhancing the cemetery’s beauty and peacefulness. We invite you to prayerfully consider contributing to this effort. The average cost is $200 per tree, though any amount is welcome. Make checks payable to Lower Providence Presbyterian Church (Attn: Jim Kardos) with "Adopt a Tree" in the memo line or use the link in your weekly email.
