Frank Ocean is an American singer and songwriter who is most known for his alternative R&B music. Frank Ocean wasn’t his real name as he felt he wanted to express his artistic identity and connect with an audience and changing his name was his way of doing this. His name was inspired by Frank Sinatra and the film Oceans 11.

Who really cares takes you through a dark, melancholic journey of love and all the dark parts we want to run away from and what the consequences of both can be. From the toxic and manipulative parts that we want to hide to the betrayal of a lover, the album shows all aspects that go into relationships and the complications that also come along with them.
Who really cares was created to show the importance of human relationships and how important human emotion can be. Their first album released was French exit which was released in 2014. They had previously released a range of music before this such as Mixtapes, EPs and singles but this was their first album. Since then they have released a total of 9 albums (4 of which were collaborations with other artists).
Although the group was known before, in 2022 the group started to post their music on TikTok. Social media has a big impact in helping their music gain massive popularity and expand their following to a wider audience of people. More people discovered their work through social media and it gave them a space to release new music.

The indie rock band have released many albums and singles throughout their career with their first being in 2004 and their latest in 2022. They have released a total of 7 albums so far in their career.
Arctic Monkeys’ work comes from a variety of different genres. Most of the band’s music is within the rock genre. Their songs fit within a few different styles of rock such as psychedelic rock, blues rock, hard rock and desert rock. They also combine other genres into their work such as: heavy metal, R&B as well as funk and soul music.

Tyler, The Creator’s real name is Tyler Okonma but he chose the stage name “Tyler, The Creator” beacuse it represents him as being the creator of his own music as well as other projects. in the media industry. Tyler has also mentioned in varous interviews that his name reflects his desire to be incontrol of his own creative direction so that he is not limited to traditional expectations with in the music industry.

Tyler, The Creator’s work has been inspired by many different artists including Pharrell Williams, Eminem and N.E.R.D. Although he takes inspirations from these musicians he has also created his own style which is unique to him. Green Day is an American rock band which was created in 1987. The band consists of 3 official members however, they also have members who join them when they go on tour. The 3 official members are: Billie Joe Armstrong (singer and guitarist), Mike Dirnt (bass guitarist) and Tré Cool (Drummer). Armstrong and Dirnt were the original members with their drummer Tré Cool joining the band in 1990.

When they first recorded the album Green Day wanted to make an album in the style of an independent $500 recording and then use a big budget to get bigger sounds. The first time they mixed the audio they didn’t even want to use any reverb. The group just wanted it to sound really dry, But the first time they mixed it, they said that it sounded awful.
When creating the Dookie album, the goal was to get each track to go quickly into the next. There wasn’t meant to be gaps between the songs. The main inspiration for this came from Mötley Crüe’s first album, Too Fast For Love, where each song just follows one after the other so there’s never a break or pause between the music.

Originally Parker released music under his name (Kevin Parker) but as people started to discover his music he wanted to create a project name for himself.
He came up with the name as a reflection of the music’s themes. Parker has described Tame Impala as representing a wild animal that’s been domesticated— like the music itself, which blends raw, psychedelic sounds with a more controlled and polished production.
Tame Impala started to write music when he was younger with his friends. As a collaboration amongst friends, Parker and his childhood friends created psychedelic tracks at home that took a lot of inspiration fromtheir biggest influences at the time: hear Nazz, Syd Barrett’s Pink Floyd, Hawkwind.
Tame Impala has produced a total of 4 studio albums throughout his career as well as various songs and collaborations with other artists.
Tame Impalas first album was called Innerspeaker and was released in 2010. His most popular album is Currents which was released in 2015. This was his third album. Parker was inspired to seek a change as he wanted to hear Tame Impala’s music played in dance clubs and a more communal setting.
The album is about the process of personal transformation, which many critics and listners interpreted to be the result of a romantic breakup. His third album is different from some of his previous music as it is in a different style.
Parker stated that the inspiration behind the new polished sound of Tame Impala’s third album came from listening to a Fleetwood Mac. He said that the pureness and cleanness of Fleetwood Mac’s song prompted him to attempt to create a more streamlined music style album.
Currents follows the progression of someone feeling like they are becoming something else. They’re becoming the kind of person they thought they’d never become. The lyrical themes of Currents centre on personal transition and growing older. Parker’s lyrics on the album are entirely autobiographical meaning that all of the songs on the album have some connection to his own life and lived experiences.
