The Ranch Report March 2025 Newsletter
Spring Has Arrived... so have the bears. Spring is finally here at the ranch! As the snow begins to melt and the landscape awakens, we’re gearing up for another unforgettable season in the heart of GTNP. March 19 marked the first confirmed bear sighting of the 2025 season in the park. Typically, adult male grizzlies emerge from their dens in March, while females with cubs follow between April and early May. Since Lost Creek Ranch is part of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, we occasionally see bears traveling through the property. As a result, our staff is dedicated to providing bear-aware education, tips and complimentary bear spray for your visit at the ranch.
Acknowledging we share this terrain with them, good bear etiquette includes: making noise on trails, securing food and garbage, and keeping a safe distance from wildlife. By working together and staying mindful of our surroundings, we can help protect both people and bears. We look forward to welcoming you back to the ranch and sharing another season of adventure and connection in this remarkable landscape.
